A historical Neoclassical Cape Dutch architecture with so much history. Nestled in the iconic Company Gardens adjacent to the robust, bustling and revered City Centre.

He original parliament building was designed in a Neoclassical style, incorporating features of Cape Dutch architecture. The later additions have been so designed as to blend with the original building. The Houses of Parliament have been declared a National Heritage Site by the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA) and given grade 1 national heritage status, the highest grade set by SAHRA.Courtesy : wiki.

Had a great experience walking around the parliamentary precinct. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Meals served in the restaurant were beautifully presented and tasteful. View of the mountain from restaurant completes a good day.

The parliament is an impressive building. And on the free tour of the building you can see a lot and get told by the tour guide much about the South African government. However, the tours are in English and not easy to understand. One should therefore be able to speak a little English. Registration is by e-mail. The address and further information can be found on the website of the Parliament. Note: Taking photos in the building is strictly prohibited!
