My first time being here and this place is amazing. The food the drinks and overall the atmosphere. We were about 13 friends having a good time, drinking, making jokes and the waiters at this place played along with our jokes. We ended up giving the waiter a bigger tip then our bill. Overall this place is great

I am very undecided about this restaurant/pub. The decor has had parts of the budget clearly shine but other elements show where they had to just fill the gap and the whole look completely finished. This means that youre not quite sure where you are, however the atmosphere isnt off putting.Beers (anything but CNC) are brilliant and are, correctly served in a chilled glass.The food is excellently cooked and servers are friendly and pleasant, but dont expect very attentive service, youll have to wave for attention for someone to come running in no time at all.The indecision is with regards to is it a German pub or an Afrikaans Live music venue with German food.

Very nice location, lots of TVs to watch your sport. Large selection of beers on tap. The food is delicious, try the lamb balls and the Eisbein. Lost 1 star because they closed at 6 when I was there so was a bit rushed.

Food is delicious and the portions adequate. The beer selection is good. It can get very busy and over-crowded, especially on weekends and then the Covid protocols are out the window. During quieter times it is a comfortable place to spend time with friends.

You get what you pay for...consistently prepared pub grub, served by friendly staff.Dont expect:- Fresh air when eating al fresco. Smokers have free reign outside.- To hold a conversation over the deafening volume of speakers when they have sports going on outside TVs- To enter the establishment unless you are prepared to walk through a wall of cigarette smoke

What a good Sunday. Lekker food and friendly staff. Our waiter knew what was going on and she was so patient with our indecisive minds! Our food was good, others peoples food looked amazing! They have so much to choose from when it comes to drinks! All they should do is change their music playlist!

Was an interesting experience. They let us taste a beer before we bought which was nice. The beer pricing is average and their house brand is nothing special. Service was good and fast so that was a plus. The pricing however put us off almost immediately. The food cost is high compared to most restaurants at R190 for a 600g ribs (370 for 1kg) and the atmosphere is nothing special. Because of this, will only give it 3 stars until they lower their prices

The first time i was here all was good with no problems, sadly when i was there Sunday it was a different experience. I noticed that covid protocols were not followed as no one washes hands and no one sprayed our hands with hand sanitation. Normally i would not give them hassles about it but a couple of hours after we ate and drank, my girlfriend and i got nasty food poisoning there and vomited the whole night. I still have body aches after all that. Obviously i cant prove this but i am very sure it was there... can i just ask that the cleanliness of this place be looked at and that all covid protocols be adhered to. Its things like this that make me not support this place in the future.

Ive always felt like there was a lack of places for people over 30 years old to socialise as most social cafes/restaurants are either filled with young party goers, or are very family orientated, so it was really nice that there were a variety of age groups visiting the Brauhaus and we felt very comfortable. We ordered the crumbed mushrooms starter (as a snack) and it was the most delicious Ive ever had. The staff were super friendly too. Going into winter, it did get quite chilly outside when the sun went down, so it would be great if they had some has heaters or something to help keep the chilly air at bay, but other than that, lovely place and we will definitely be back to try out a few more foods on the (generous) menu.

Really good service and the waiters were helpful. The place was nice and neat. We were sitting outside so could not rate how the atmosphere was inside. The food was amazing, the chilli poppers, and the normal beef burger with extra cheese sauce is divine. Didnt really see a kids play area. Would recommend this place if you are in the area and want to go see a show or go on date or grab a beer after work with friends.

What was once a cool spot to hang out with friends drinking an interesting beer and enjoying good food has become a borderline teenager drinking hole. Apart from this, the restaurant itself is of good standard and the options on offer are good. The items are overpriced.

Great venue to go and support the artists who are performing at the venue. Food is great, lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Best to book a table in advance when artists are performing as the place are very busy.

Sadly, I have had to review publicly as my privately steered complaint has not been answered. For patrons who are at greater Covid risk: I chose to get take-aways as I have a family member who is vulnerable. I was severely disappointed at the staff protocols- masks hanging around chins; no hand-cleaning between serving different customers; standing at the bar over beers being served, talking to the barman OVER the drinks. In a restaurant that is lively and loud, you raise your voices and your saliva travels even further. More care should be taken.Food was badly packed, and sauce spilled all over the car, and my clothes. And it was really very average on the eating.You will note that most of my reviews on other sites are very positive. I am not a complainer, but this restaurant just didnt care.

Menue awesome.I dont understand why in winter there are no gas heater on the veranda area smokers section. It was very cold. Food after a min. is ice cold. If the owner looks after the smokers the turnover would double. The waiters I would rate a 2. Very slap gat

More of a upper class venue than a place like speak easy. You do pay for what you get but it is definitely worth it - drinks prices are in line with all the other places nearby, maybe R5 more on some items

Offered a drink - no thanks. Hygiene not up to standard, management avoids accountability. Wont come her again.

Went for a family dinner. First time there. Was a great evening. Our waiter gave good service and great suggestions for menu choices.Enjoyed the interior space and lay out and felt like the social distancing was well thought out.Food was great. Nice change from normal pub/restaurant menus. Tried the starter platter of various German sausages. Tasty!!!Eisbien main course was huge and good.Steak was superb.Was a great evening and will be back..

Food was amazing but service sadly a let down. I know it was very busy but had to ask other staff twice to call our waiter as they didnt come around to ask if we wanted more drinks, food or to clear our plates. We waited very long before we were able to order our mains because of this. Regardless waiter was still friendly and the vibe was really great.

Impressed with Albert and Moira as waiters but what a disappointment thereafter. No German beer, no German music. Mains took more than 45 minutes. The two German beers advertised is not in stock. Not considering a return. Brauhaus need to stay true to its brand as a Kapstadt Brauhaus not a normal restaurant. Really thought as a first visit I will be met with German-type hospitality and beer.

Attended a birthday party last Saturday so there was a lot of us.. Great vibe but the food really was terrible for both myself and my wife.. Steak was requested to be medium well and arrived heavily under cooked (raw).. Farmers breakfast was very runny with the eggs still raw.. I understand it was a very busy night but the quality control being done on the food was missing.. The music was great, the service was on point and vibe was good hence why the 2 stars..

Great food and service

So food was great, beer was even better and service was good... but absolutely no where to sit outside if you not a smoker, as no matter were you sit, you have cigarette smoke in your face! Seriously need to address this. Why on beautiful Cape Town day must I sit inside.
