Nothing short of amazing compared to other gyms I visited. Has a sauna, friendly and helpful staff. Place is clean and adhere to strict covid 19 infection control measures.

I think the gym could really do with an upgrade. The place is neat and clean but they need to get new equipment like their incline presses and weight press machines.

Pool and gym at a price only few can afford... make the Poor in the Plain happy by offering jaw dropping low gym membership for a year... prices so low...the competition will fold

This has in a way become my second home. VA in general is a great gym. Each VA gym has its own layout and variety of classes.The staff in general are always great and friendly. The greet you when you arrive and when you leave. The facilities are always kept clean and tidy and professional. The security measure VA Westgate regarding scanning your card when driving out makes one feel that your car is safe while gyming.The overall gym experis always great.

Good points:- Rare weight lifting equipment- Big weight section (Could be expanded considering the cardio section is barely used.)- SpaciousBad points:- Equipment are old and not oiled well.- The dumbbells are in dire need of replacing. They are essentially falling apart.- The gym is very untidy with weights lying all over the place with you often not being able to find some dumbells or plates. This could be due to members but staff needs to reinforce good behavior.- Dumbells etc are dirty and leave your hands black. (I usually wouldnt mind but it just means its not being cleaned which is risky with COVID)

I love that all the machines and weights are on one floor. I love the older machines as they are more focused on muscle worked. This gym has some rare, amazing machines that you wont find at most VAs. Showers are clean and tidy. Staff are few but helpful. Just needs a height adjustable cable machine, dumbbells need some serious upgrades and labelling, and water units leak or dont work.

Well everybody knows that its the vibe at this gym that beats them all. Equipment is due for an upgrade but all in working order tho. Friendly staff and each person is more than willing to help the next.

Poor maintenance and poor management..This is the second time the steamroom is not working. I sat 1hr waiting on a steamroom, this is very disturbing and disappointing actually..

Cheapest Virgin Active Health Club in the chain probably because of the social perception of Mitchells Plain. I can tell you the staff are friendly and always willing to help and the members are also keen to chat and have a laugh. It is a very welcoming environment with a guard to watch over the vehicles with controlled access. I feel safe in going here. The equipment is a little older than the Flagships but perfectly adequate for all your exercising needs and a huge workout class venue for cycling and boxing amongst others like Yoga for example. The pool is immaculate and well worth the fee alone. Its a steal of a price you can go to this gym for.

The floor attendees or gym staff are clueless about high intensity exercise as they require you to wear your mask while they literally see you struggling breathing for air. #Clueless #Misinformed They want you to wear your mask even if youre 2m apart from another individual. The issue needs to be addressed.

I think it’s a shame that this gym is so plain compared to some other Virgins in Cape Town. Maybe they don’t have a lot of members? Their equipment is in great, new condition, and there’s always treadmills available, but I would love a water fountain or two. The change rooms are always clean, but the finishing a bit rudimentary. Even the Kauai seems to have different ingredients (processed chicken rather than filleted, etc). I still enjoy going here during breaks from work, all the staff are very friendly. Good parking space, and it feels secure. There is no security in the security booth though, mmmh?

The gym recently got an upgrade but I think more can be done to enhance your experience at the gym and want you to come back more. The staff is generally very friendly and know their stuff. Also the place is always clean. For now I think it is a cool place to train.

I have attended this gym a few times and I wasnt as impressed as most people. However I might not be the best judge because I have limited experience visiting this branch. They have all the necessary equipment I guess and a pool so its fairly well equipped. Give it a visit and add a better comment to help others.

Big weight section! Has all the other equipment a normal Virgin active health club will have. However, the weights are old and some equipment also needs replacing. Other than that I found everything I needed at this gym.

My favorite gym always nice being here. The staff are very friendly and they always smile and greet when you enter and leave. I love this gym and forever I will stick with them

Ive been to most of virgin active gyms in Cape town .this gym tops it the family feeling and warm welcome you get from people .I just hope that this gym gets new weight training weight .

Its a great place to do a workout, however it could get very crowded during peak hours between 4:30 pm - 7pm.

Kauai slow and staff have to be summoned. Gym is clean but I find the pool a bit warm (26-28degrees)

Because of the water shortage in the province we dont have the steam room, its been off this whole year but now we have bore hole water and the swimming pool is functional. We have plenty water and we supply other branches with water but we still cant have the steam room on but I think its now political, in the white areas they cant have bore hole because they mostly in the shopping malls for their convenience as usual now we must suffer because they going to complain if we have a steam room and they dont, really now? Pathetic, talk about apartheid in the new South Africa.
