Bad service Ive ever experienced, being sent from pillar to post for linking vitality, no response on formal complaint and yet debiting your account non stop. they never call for feedback, so called gym administrator very arrogant on the phone. I hate it

Impossible to connect with Virgin at all to cancel membership. Mail - get response re very high volumes. Call centre - endless queue. Website - down and no recourse. App - something went wrong. No human being to interact with - all bots. This is one way to avoid having to cancel memberships??

We left Virgin Active because of this club. While it is one of the nicer Virgin Active clubs Ive seen, they have way too many members for the size of the club. It didnt matter what time of the day we went, it was always packed, and then we could never really gym properly because most of the time there wasnt any space in the weight area, so we mostly ended up just doing cardio, checking if theres space in the weight area, and then going home because there wasnt any.

Impossible to talk to anyone with a membership related query. Club card hasn’t worked since starting. Vitality points for entirety of membership not tracked because “system is down”. Signed up well over 2 months ago and am yet to receive any sort of welcome email, login details or digital connections for booking classes. Truly shocked at this. Would have cancelled my membership long ago but this too is proving near impossible.

I personally enjoy this gym. The equipment is well kept, the staff are all friendly. You wont regret the decision to join this gym.

Super clean, enough machines that you don’t have to wait for other people to finish. The pool water is warm and free parking for 90 minutes. It’s awesome as a study area too if you’re not too sensitive with noise. Overall, the best gym with friendly stuff.

I went for my covid jab at Virgin Active, but there were a couple of people working out and swimming. The place in general is spotless.

I do not know how the booking system works, but it is very difficult to book – some people have the know how!If you have booked a class and can’t make it please cancel your booking. So many people want it and un-intentionally miss the booking deadline. There is no set time when bookings are available – the gym gives conflicting stories, but some people always manage to make a booking in time. I have no idea how. No matter how hard I try I always seem to miss it!If you have booked a class and can’t make it please cancel in time. For people who work office hours there is nothing more frustrating than to dress for gym, fight the traffic after office hours to get in a queue and then told there is no place and then have to fight the traffic home.Please be kind – It is easy to do!We have enough social and economic problems. Let’s not make gym another one. It is supposed to be a pleasure for all to enjoy.I have been so frustrated that I have been on the verge of cancelling my Virgin Active contract, but this is not what I want to do.All I want is to have two classes a week – Monday and Thursday after work, I am not a mornings person. Incompetent staff and pathetic service from the people at the top. My advice: take notes of ALL interactions and have them sign their name on each of those notes! Also, expect everything to be blamed on the system being down.I tried to freeze my membership and the lady at the desk assured me the request was sent in but when I went to check if its done, the request was never even filed. Staff just shrug their shoulders when I ask what happens should I be charged the full amount just because a staff member did not do their job. Its almost as though they want to catch you out so you keep paying when you shouldnt.

Easy access to the pool, just with free weight area there needs to be more equipment.

I love this branch. They have a variety of gum equipment. They are very functional as I work close by. They have adapted very well since covid

The telephones at both Century City and Claremont go unanswered for days. Spoke to Kyle at customer support who cannot guarantee anybody will call me back before Tuesday. Does it really take Virgin active 5 days to return a call? Absolutely pathetic service

I went for my covid vaccine today, it went very well staff was very and helpful and i was done in less than an hour.

Had a Covid Vaccine appointment for 15:00. It is now 15:34 and there are still about 50 people in front of me. Based on the speed at which the queue has moved in the last 45 minutes that Ive been here, it will take another 45 minutes to get to the front. Why give me a specific time to be here and then make me stand for 1.5 hours in a queue?

I went there to take my mom for her first COVID Vaccine shot, the process went smoothly and quickly, it was pleasant experience and all safety protocols were followed.

Nice, spacious gym. Lots of bikes and step machines, but could do with more weight machines. Great pool with an AWESOME shallow pool/Jacuzzi with massaging showers!! Kauai inside and 1,5 hours free parking. Fantastic huge PnP downstairs as well for convenience.

Great pool to swim in. I swim almost every day and although it gets busy, there is always space to join in. The staff are friendly and helpful. The treadmills are situated above the pool and so it should be noted that when running or walking on the front row of treadmills, all of the pools heat travels upwards. Now maybe this makes for a better workout as it gets hot but it can get a bit much.The large sections for any and all types of exercises are great with the bodyweight and pull-up bars being my favourite.

Went for vaccination, very professional and helpful staff. Only problem, maybe provide chairs for those waiting outside, but the line moved nicely along though.

This is a really good Gym with friendly staff. Great experience in the gym with a variety of equipment for a total body workout.

The Claremont virgin active is very well setup, they have great studios,cardio section as well as conventional weights. Make sure to go off peak when weight training as the allocated space as well as quantity in equipment is small as the gym space is small, so during peak hours you might wait a bit for a machine.

Was great, had a good workout that went smoothly and had a good smoothie from the Kuaui inside after. Very happy.

One of my favorite places to be. It has everything you need and want when it comes to a fitness Centre. They even have Kauai which promotes and contributes towards healthy living.

This gym is the best one ever! Very friendly staff, like really friendly. High quality facilities, and the classes are great! Do check out a class called HEAT if you want to sweat it out. Kayla coneucts it best (obviously an opinion lol).

After hounding me for a week to join the gym the consultant convinces me to come in and join and doesnt even take me on a tour of the gym to get a feel of where each area is.Signs me up makes me pay the activation and that was it.

Staff are helpful also when needing assistance.

Its a friendly, well-functioning, well-equipped gym. The womens change-rooms have been recently renovated and are very pleasant. It has good views to the mountains outside...a big plus. I would love a deeper pool but understand why the pool is how it is. The gym managed the season of water stress last year very well.

I love it here... Its at a point where every one gets a turn to gym. This is a nice gym/office the gym and computers and fancy lounge with a health shop is a perfect escape.

Equipment is always broken or about to break. Strange given how underutilised it is currently.

Only went there for my Covid vaccine.

Booked a slot yesterday, but still had to wait 37 minutes in a line to get into the gym (literally zero point in booking). Then decided to come today without booking (since there was no point yesterday and zero new communication on the matter). Half way into my session I get told I need to get out to make way for people who booked for the hour. Completely unorganized especially for a gym franchise that prides itself on customer service. Will be canceling my contract and looking elsewhere.

Virgin Active is my favourite gym to workout at. The bathrooms are clean and tidy all the time and the renovations make everything look even better. The Kauai store is convenient for times when you may forget your water bottle at home or you just want to grab a snack/meal after a workout. The equipment is well maintained and there arent any worn out machines on the floor which is great. The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help you with any questions you may have related to the club or a form of exercise. The classes at the club are also very fun to attend. The membership is definitely worth it.

I love it! As a workout enthusiast, its a gym come true! Im currently enrolled in a personal trainer course and am hoping to do my practical there! I hope to someday open a Virgin gym such as those Ive seen in South Africa, particularly the Claremont, Cape Town location. I wish I could afford a membership allowing me to visit any location, but until then, am perfectly content with the Claremont location!Please let me know if theres an affordable method for me to get to visit any other location in Cape Town?

The gym itself is wonderful. However, Montclare is raising its parking price in February, it does not seem fair for people to pay every time they want to visit the gym. The 1.5 free hours was really appreciated.

Lots of equipment to use and very neat/organized. Even during peak hours I can still manage a full workout. The prices are very steep though, especially if you want to bring a non-member to try out the gym (R1800 for a month).

Home away from home... Amazing equipment, good views. The restaurant serves great vegan and vegetarian meals, quality was to die for. Totally recommend a work out and a meal after a refreshing shower!

Great gym with all basic facilities. Kuaui inside the gym. Equipment and facilities are well maintained and upgraded regularly. It has a lap pool and leisure pool. Really fantastic kids club v with wonderful staff! Free parking for the first hour and a half, and quick access to pick n Pay and a few other shops within the Centre.

Conveniently located and the gym has a good vibe. Staff is extremely friendly. The only issue is that it can become really crowded during peak hours. Best time is early mornings or afternoon before peak hour

I dont normally write reviews, but virgin active really needs to do something here. The gym is WAY too small for the amount of members using it. It is the only virgin active in the southern suburbs - which is home to over 160 000 people!!! Even if just 20 of those people decide to use the weights section at one time, prepare to have people breathing down your neck throughout your workout. Virgin active is so busy garnering for new members, they care not for those already signed up. No other virgin active Ive been to has this issue, something needs to change.

Its good as far as most gyms go, having almost anything anyone could need. As far as Virgin Active Gyms go, however, its definitely the least impressive one. This is mostly due to limited space and extremely busy peak times

Great facilities (and free classes), lots of parking and amazing staff. This unfortunately does amount to high demand and it being very crowded during peak hours. So make sure you plan when you go to gym, or be prepared to wait to use a machine etc.

My favourite work out place. Friendly and helpful staff, clean, neat. Just a pity for the water restrictions that presently cannot use the sauna and steam room, but very understandable. Love the healthy smoothies!

The Gym is awesome and well equipped. Stunning views of the mountain too! I found trying to find parking in the maze really difficult though, ill probably rather stick to going to constantia gym for that reason.
