I was promised by more than six call center operators that the transition from the FNB platform to the Discovery platform would be seamless. It is not. Once you are issued a new card any stop/debit orders will be declined. The implications are significant. I had an excellent credit record, built up by sound financial behavior. It is now compromised by the very bank that claims to be the first behavioral bank. I have approached the various advertising and consumer protection agencies to legally prevent Discovery from earning revenue or promoting this unique feature that sets apart from mainstream banking. An elephant does not like a thorn in its foot. Im that thorn.

I do not make it a habit to tarnish ones reputation on Social Media, however, I feel the need to do this is of utmost importance.Since May 2021 we wanted to change the banking details for my husband, from the existing account to my account. Ive sent numerous emails, moreover, copious hours on the phone to only speak to countless agents to get the account details changed for the debit order to be deducted from the correct account.ONCE AGAIN, my husband received an SMS this morning, stating that hes not covered - AGAIN!! This is the third time this has now occurred with no cover - as they Discovery take THREE WEEKS TO ALLOCATE THE EFT PAYMENT, he WILL NOT BE COVERED SHOULD IN THE EVENT, ANYTHING HAPPEN TO HIM!! They will dismiss him, as they say he is ONCE AGAIN NOT COVERED FOR MEDICAL!!All the documents were sent, ID cards, signed documents, new banking details on a letterhead from the bank!!What else does one need to do to get the service one deserves?I feel so disheartened by the lack of service from Discovery....This has escalated to an utter RIDICULOUS STAGE.SUCH INCOMPETENCE!!!

Discovery bank app is a waste of time. Havent logged in once since the app was available. Im even still waiting for customers services up untill now to get in touch with me. Wasting my airtime on them everytime but they dont get back to me after saying everytime they will. I havent experienced the banking app at all. Cant see whats going on in my account or transact...see pics everytime i try to log in

The worst insurance experience! Someone drove into the back of me at a red robot - only to find out my policy excess is R3500, the damages come to R4000 but dont worry discovery insure covers R500... Honestly, Discovery Insure, dont bother!

Discovery Medical Aid is just a complete waste of time, money and energy. You pay for a medical aid monthly in the hope of enjoying the benefits when you require them. However, with Discovery they make sure you jump through a million hoops in order to qualify for the claim to be paid out. So disappointing!!! The 2 stars are for the friendly customer service personnel who call you and try to make the situation better to only find yourself in another issue with Discovery.

After a disruptive experience of the migration from FNB to Discovery bank I was cut off from my account. Help desk was unable to assist me until Ashlynn Champion contacted me. She was efficient, helpful and stayed in communication with me daily. Thank you for the excellent service!

I cant even give you a star. I just want to scream - discovery bank is a total fraud. I was phoned not once but twice to ask if i wanted to open an account. Both times I said no. Guess what - I have an account!!! I went online to cancel my credit card. It hasnt cancelled. I phoned the service line not once twice!!! I have the references - both times they couldnt close or help me - they needed someone to call me back...no one has called. I am sooooooooo frustrated an annoyed. YOU cannot get any service from this Bank!!!!! I feel like I now need to take this to legal!

Discovery is a joke. Trying to use your benefits will end up costing you hours of your time. They make it so difficult for you to claim these benefits that you will just give up and carry the cost.

Honestly the most inept and useless bank I have ever used. Was forced to migrate from discovery card to Discovery bank and what a joke. You should have waited until you were ready to handle banking- stick to medical aids, but that is what being greedy will get you!!

Discovery bank is an absolute embarrassing disaster:1) After signing up and getting sent their full banking suite product, I called in to downgrade to just the credit card facility. I was told that I would be called back in the following month in order for this downgrade to be actioned, I never received the call. In the multiple times I called in to enquire about the transaction account I was being charged for without using, I was given the same response that they would reverse the charges. Each time was a blatant lie and the charges were never reversed.2) Without my contest, after 8 months of calling in on a monthly basis to stop getting charged for a service I was not using, I receive an sms telling me that all charges from the multiple accounts I dont need or use will be made on my credit card account.3) They are extremely uncontactable. Outside of the unethical banking practices, you can barely get a hold of their contact centres / consultants (who are just there to be well spoken without providing actual assistance)After the experience Ive had, I fully understand why the bank has been such a complete commercial failure. This is by far the worst customer experience I have experienced in my 15 years of being a banking client.I have had such an unpleasant experience, I am terminating all my discovery services including medical aid and vitality. I would rather not wait around to find out which other areas the company is untrustworthy in

Long waits for seemingly no reason. Other folks were standing around looking bored as well. Staff couldn’t answer my questions but I’m hoping they’ll pick things up. Discovery isn’t known to have the quickest turnaround for anything really.

Communication Failure. So now you come out with a decidedly different card. Smart ?? Not really. Did anyone think that wallets generally have cards in the horizontal position. So who did you pay tons of money to to come up with this card without considering the wallet we carry our cards in. And no 2 which is a real problem. Why do you expect me to run my discovery card from my smartphone ? You have stopped the sending out of Email statements every month, which is my reminder to pay and the document my auditor gets. Are you trying to force us to work soley on our phones or in fact wanting us to close our account we have had with you forever?

Quick and easy, not much else to say. Parking can be an issue if you dont like paying - unless youre lucky and you find one of those 60 minutes only spots, youre going to have to pay.

Pros - greate medical aid and vitality benefits,cons - when things go wrong, they go wrong. they confirmed banking info which was incorrect, months after confirmation that details were updated, they were not. even had email and telephone confirmation from various staff. There IT support for issues with the app was also on the incompetent side. After many arguments and lies, they eventually fixed what i informed them was broken.

My son went off my medical aid in December 2015 because he turned 21. He joined Discovery Key Care Plus effective 1 January 2016. Since joining - i can really say not one thing has gone correct with Discovery from his contribution amount being changed due to some incompetent employee not reading bank statements correct to an incorrect contribution being deducted end of January - R600 and odd more than should have been deducted... to an employee promising the money would be off set against his february deduction... and this also not happening... complete amount taken off his salary so now Discovery still owes him his monies that was deducted incorrectly in January!!! Phoning gets you to an escalation and then a waiting game!! if i knew discovery medical aids administration is so terrible i would not have encouraged him to join your medical aid... your service is really pathetic! I want his money paid back before the end of work week or i am taking this querry further and reporting Discovery for unlawfully deducting monies from his account that was not agreed to and then not refunding the money as agreed upon!

It is only R1000 and I cant claim that little amount for 3 months now . It is very frustrating and disappointing, Ive actually spent airtime calling Discovery more than that amount already . What a poor service you provide, even when I ask the consultant to call me back they just ignore me . No one has got back to me so far . I would not recommend it for anyone, unless someone who wants to enjoy the free smoothies .
