Definitely the best jewellery and piercing studio in town. You get a really amazing experience from the moment you walk through the door, the staff is super friendly and the piercers are experienced and know exactly what their doing. I wouldn’t ever trust anyone else with my piercings after experiencing Black Betty!

The piercing process and jewellery collection are great. At this price point you would expect customer service to be a lot more on point, however. From recent promos and ads placed, I believed that I would receive a curated piercing experience. The shop assistant knew very little about the jewellery or prices, was pretty obviously irritable that I kept asking her questions, and at no point advised me on what would look good together etc. This was despite booking ahead of time. Happy with the result, but not with the process.

My piercing artist, Shenna, was such an informative, supportive and helpful babe - whole procedure was super quick and easy - all the jewelry is so unique and to die for, literal art - 12/10 would recommend! Professional, clean, quick, painless and very interesting!My wife got her helix and third lobe piercing today at the Regent road Black Betty. The experience was everything you could hope for, it was extremely professional in choosing the jewellery and the entire process.All the equipment was extremely sterile and the piercings (done by hand) were so smooth, youd think it was going through butter.Shelden took every step in her professionalism and kindness, we felt welcome and cared from the second we stepped into the shop. She is an excellent piercer, clearly with many years of experience, you can easily trust her.Definitely a go to for anything piercing related.

I took the earring out and replaced it with another one from another jewellery store. Very disappointing though after the great service I initially received, am now doubtful about quality of some of the jewelry now.Thanks so much Kristin for the response below and putting my mind at ease. I was really caught off guard and didnt even think of researching the cause. I will find the earring and attempt cleaning it and will let you know how it went. My bad, I thought it could have been caused by poor quality. Now I know better. Ive been following Black Betty on Instagram for a while, and when I saw they did piercing I knew this was my top pick of where to go. I got my helix and upper lobe pierced by Shelden and she was so awesome - all the way from scheduling through to the end!The piercing itself was so easy and quick and I am absolutely in love with the finished product and the jewellery in the store is stunning and incredibly eye-catching. Everything was sterile and completely professional - you should definitely get your next piercing done here!

I love Black Betty jewelry, every time I walk in Waterfront I will have a look and I always find something I want to buy.I find it a real shame the ladys who are there to inform and serve me as a customer are uneducated in the products they sell.Ive asked a few times on different rings some info about the stones, they had no idea and were not interested to find out.3 different times I have asked if I could order an item that was not at the shop or in my size, they took my size, my number and email and I never heard from them again.Asking about it when back at the shop, there was no record. My partner and I both tried the same thing with a ring, same story.Last night I found another ring I loved and bought.But the lack of interest and customer service from the lady selling made me decide now I will not spend anymore money at the Black Betty at Waterfront.I have spend quite some money there over the last year but it seems like nobody is really interested.

I have bought jewelry from Black Betty Design for some time now, as I love supporting local designers but reading the reviews below regarding bad service from them is not surprising. The problem seems to stem from top management - the owner herself.Before having read their T&Cs on their website, I sent a DM to them on Instagram, where I received the rudest response from the owner, after complaining about the quality of their rings and requesting a replacement because the stone from my ring fell out. After sending her a photo of the shell of the ring, I did not hear back from her for two months and had to follow up with her myself. To make matters worse, there was an insinuation that I had knocked the ring (which never happened) and comments like, ‘I would think that it was obvious...’ and ‘ Expecting a replacement after a year of wear is very surprising for us to hear’ were made. No matter what the situation, who says that to a customer?! I was shocked to find out that I was dealing with the owner and not a poorly trained representative. It seems it is outlandish to even expect a local designer to go out of their way to provide outstanding customer service, despite the fact that I have received excellent service from other local designers in the past, years after the date of purchase!She has offered for me to visit their store to have the stone replaced. Considering the interaction I have had and that the stone will most probably fall out again, there is no point.After my experience, my colleague pointed me to their returns and exchanges policy published on their website. Do yourself a favour and read through them. You can pretty much expect that the jewelry you buy from them will not last. Spend your money elsewhere! There are other local jewelry designers who make products that are just as beautiful but that are better quality and have owners who will go out of their way for their customers.

After receiving sterling online service from Eldade Kasongo I cant wait to receive my earrings. Eldade responded to my mail promptly even though I sent it on Easter Sunday. I requested advice on a choice of earrings. I needed gold earrings, and Eldade offered to plate my first choice, the leaf and onyx drop earrings, available in silver, to gold. After considering that my second choice, the Stoned Trio in mixed stones, weighed the same as the leaf and stone drops, and some good style advice from Eldade, I decided on the Stoned Trio. Good service enhances ones experience of a special purchase - thank you!

The manager of the store needs to learn how to accept responsibility for her mistake and not get annoyed with the customer when its pointed out to her! The jewelry is so beautiful but unfortunately the staff make it an unpleasant experience and I would therefore spend my money elsewhere.
