Our family moved to Durbanville in 1974. Since then, this practice was your GP. After school I left WC and returned in 1989. Even though I did not live in the area, I came back to this practice. I have never had an outstanding amount with them. About a year ago I asked a repeat script to be emailed to me upon which I was told, We cannot do that because you need to pay for the scrip!. I then sought out a new GP but I again went back to this practice because of all the years that I have been here. Yesterday I again requested a script via email, because the doctor specifically told me to email her directly for a repeat and she will email it to me. However, this morning I was contacted to say the script is ready for pick-up and I said that it was supposed to be emailed. This, and I have a lot of names that I can call this person, but lets stick with lady, told me in no uncertain terms that the script will NOT be emailed until THEY have proof of payment! This lady is one of the most rude and unprofessional people behind the counter at this practice, has been since the day she started there. Well, I am done with this practice!! I am sad to change direction after all these years, but enough is enough. When a doctor says one thing, but some people behind the counter think they know better. They are willing to loose patients over a couple of rand for a script!! So who is now paying for the script? Its ready for pick-up which means there is a cost involved, RIGHT? I hope many more out there who feel like me will follow my lead and leave. There ARE a lot of good practices out there who treat you like a human being and trust you to pay a couple of rand via EFT when you say you would. BY THE WAY, what happened to stay at home?? Now I have to go out to pick up a script that could be emailed and payment done via EFT. It is not like I bought a product, had an operation or the likes and only want to pay after the fact. It is a piece of paper that was printed from a PC with an electronic signature. How much work was that? How sure am I that after sending proof of payment, I would actually receive the script? No what, this is NOT the way you treat LOYAL clients!!!!! Thank you for nothing! and Good Bye.
After living in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town& having the most fantastic GP, Dr Dave McCabe, then moving to Durbanville 13 Years ago, I found it extremely difficult connecting with a new GP (Dr Stanley Coetzee) who came highly recommended by a few friends. However, I found Dr Coetzee to always be very thorough with his examinations and willing to consult with specialists regarding my cronic health problems. Over the years, I can only say good things about Dr Coetzee and the reception staff. I am extremely happy with Dr Coetzee! - and with the staff at the practice. You will not be sorry becoming one of Dr Coetzees patients!!
Very unhelpful, never try make a plan if they are busy, even if your child is very sick or has an exam the next day. They dont care. You are just told We are fully booked
Doctors are all fantastic, reception staff scare me a bit. The secretaries come across as quite unfriendly and irritated with you.
