2 weeks my I take my son to the grassy park surgery because his complaining that his toe is sore. Fill out our details and we see the doctor and says its a ingrown toe nail, what I expected, charges R450... She says they only rove it on a Friday because there is a doctor that comes on Fridays to do the procedure which will cost a total of R1000... They will call me back and till today nobody has called I went to get another opinion and I fact it was not a ingrown toe nail but just an infection. Its all. Sorted now and I paid much cheaper and the service I got was much more professional.

THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED!!!DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE !!I went today with my daughter and waited close to 2 hours to be seen by a doctor.After finally going into the treatment room,the Dr was absolutely horrific!For a place that deals with patients on a daily this dr had absolutely no human touch,extremely short and did not even bother to ask questions on my history before chucking meds at me.Im too scared to even use the meds given as I am not sure that myself or my daughter was diagnosed accurately!Have no flippen clue how this place is still open!Think I need to take this further and report it to the health association!!I repeat....DO NOT go to this practice!!!!

When i go to Dr Kathans rooms in Pelican Park, they are able to claim from my medical aid and all is well.The minute we go to the Klip Road practice, the receptionist is adamant that she is unable to claim from the medical aid and when asked why she has many excuses and then gets rude. This makes no sense.I am convinced that this woman is just plain lazy or completely incompetent and does not know how to submit medical aid codesPlease explain why the practice is able to claim from my medical aid at Pelican Park but not at Klip Road, when it is the same practice?Unacceptable.

Today I had a disturbing experience from one of the Dr’s at Dr kathan’s rooms. My 2 year old son had a freak accident where he needed stitches on his forehead. With blood gushing, they sent my husband to one of their treatment rooms, for the dr to check my son’s injury out. He admitted to it being serious and needing stitches, but he would first need to attend to all the patients in the waiting room before seeing to my frantic 2 year old, which could’ve been so much more serious than just stitches! I’m disgusted and disturbed at this type of treatment from a well known practice! This, I will NEVER recommend Dr Kathan’s practice to anybody, even if they’re the latest practice open in Grassy Park and if they’re around the corner from my home. (The sad part being, nobody will even contact me to correct this matter, as they are just not interested. That’s how full of themselves they are.)

Horrific service from this surgery! Charged me R1900 for one consultation for my baby and refuse to give me a breakdown for the cost. Why do you practice medicine if you just want to rob the poor blind?

Horrible service from the moment you enter the practice. The receptionist has no respect or compassion for a sick person entering their practice. I went to them with a terrible stomach pain and was told its nothing serious other than a tummy bug. I ended up at Gatesville Mellowmed the following morning as the pain was just unbearable. Turned it to be much more serious than just a tummy bug. I had to have a. Emergency operation that same day. Great service Dr DL Kathan.

Ive just gotten back from seeing the doctor who I believe got my diagnosis wrong. This was doctor Kathan but rather one of the rookies working for him. I believe that going forward, the doctors should pay more attention to their customers becaue now I seeking a second opinion and would essential need to pay twice

Had a small medical procedure done with Dr Schutte.Consultation before the operation was very informative & made me feel totally at ease about having it done.Procedure went well follow up visits was a breeze even though deep down I was extremely anxious as I never had a operation before. Thank you to the Grassy Park team for a warm welcome at the door & the Covid screening. You surly will see me again if I need medical assistance.

First time I’ve been to see this doctor believe it was Dr Charmaine Van Riel and am a newly recovered COVID-19 patient still experiencing a bit of a tight chest, chest-pain and light-headedness apart from other lingering symptoms. Was advised by the doctor before I sat down that she doesn’t know why I came to see them as all my symptoms should be gone and that I’m making it up in my head and it must be anxiety. As I was explaining my symptoms the doctor kept talking over me invalidating my symptoms; immediately advising that she won’t give me a sick note and that I will have to go back to work when I didn’t ask to be booked off of work and had a worked a full shift that same day. I just wanted to feel better.Never have I ever felt more patronised and disrespected as a patient as I did here. Was made to feel like I wasn’t worth their time or concern. Doctor told me she cannot do anything for me and was extremely rude.Got a second opinion and was advised that long-term COVID-19 symptoms are not “one-size-fits-all” and that I have residual weakness of muscle walls in my chest. According to WHO long-term lingering symptoms of COVID-19 are: chest pain, shortness of breath & damage to lung tissue amongst others.Would NOT recommend this practice to anyone. Will not be returning.

Apparently Dr kathan should be one of the good surgerys but I totally disagree I have been having stomach and back pains for months I decided to choose Dr kathan surgery for a second opinion as the first surgery told me Im stressed out and over worked I attended the pelican park surgery doctor did a check up and charged me R350 and gave me pain meds and told me that if I still feel the same after 5 days I should come back the 5th day I went back the doctor wasnt available that day then I was told to go to Dr kathan in klip road they would send all my info to them so they can assist me further I then saw a doctor who charged me a extra R100 for more meds and said if I dont fell better after that I would need to go for and ultra sound scan my ultra sound scanned was booked for the 18th of November 2020 at the cost of R600 cash before having scan done I really wanted to know what could be causing this pain.The scan was done not even 10 minutes then I was out of the surgery the Dr that did the scan told me she would give me a call the following day which would be the 19th of November up until today I still havent received my results Ive been busy at work so I was unable to actually go to the surgery to find out but Ive literally been calling every day since the 19th of November everytime I get told by the receptionist simonay that the doctors are currently busy and I must give my details she will ask the doctor to call me back I dont know how many times I left my details and still no phone call then I called again then I was told apparently my folder was misplaced they need to call pelican park to get my details from them a week later no response I then stayed out of work on Monday the 14th of December and when to pelican park to find out whats happening I was told they going to call klip roads surgery and find out then the 16 December I called pelican park back they said I should call klip but not today cause it was a public holiday so I waited up until the next day and called klip road I spoke once again to simonay as the doctors were busy and once again left my name an number to get called back I waited all day to be called back no call at all Im am very disappointed and disgusted by the pathetic service from a well known surgery very quick to take your money I spent R1050 to find out whats causing the pain Im having daily and its a month later today and I never received any results it could be something serious then I dont even know whats happening.im not someone to complain but Ive just had it and Im fed up of calling everyday and not being assisted u pay your way to avoid sitting at day hospitals all day but the day hospital gives better service than this surgery.

Waited an hour and 30 mins to see the doc and they didnt even apologise that they let people who came after me see the doc first. Will never use these doctors again

Wish I could give 0 stars. Doctors are great but the wonderful receptionist Anthea thinks she owns the place. Been to doctor yesterday, returned back today because I was still not feeling well and waited 2 hours for a sick note. Not because I wasnt patient but because the dearest receptionist was too busy. Pathetic! I would suggest a more competent and observant receptionist.

This place is a big money making vacuum. They get you to come back for follow-up visits so that they can charge you full consultation as if its a new treatment. Will never ever go back. I do not recommend this place.

DONT EVER GO HERE. They gave absolutely crappy service. For a place that works with people to medicate and make them feel better they made me absolutely sick to my stomach knowing that Dr Kriel inserted an injection incorrectly in my friend and proceeded to further humiliate her by announcing her medical history to the whole of the reception. I was at Dr Kathan surgery last week Tuesday for a refferal to see a specialist.I got there, sat 2hours when it was my time eventually. The doctor first stood around and had a fat conversation listening to the receptionist stories which took 15mins to call me.Greshen was the one that was initially supposed to send my things away, was meant to call me 2-3 days after getting auth.However shes never called me back, whenever I called she kept lying about the situation.She kept promising to call me back but I was always the one to call after her. My claim eventually got approved for the wrong gynecologist.I kept calling and shed always tell me to hold shell call me back. But never did.I eventually just had it and then called her and the attitude I got from her was appalling.Could you please get more competent and helpful people working there and dont forget people that actually know what they doing and not just employ anybody.

Terrible service and appaulling behaviour by doctor available. They dont care about your healthy only seeing and billing as many people for thier consulatation fee. They dont help just treat you like they want and send you off. They have office in poor areas and doctors treat you like you are not really worth their time. Also when you compain they do not give you the respect and attention they deserve. I would not recommend anyone to go here. Rather go to a government facility.

Disgusted by their service, they couldnt do something as simple as sending off my gp to specialist forms for me to get authorization, after I asked if I can send it to the medical aid myself. Every time I would call to confirm if they sent my docs they would say yes I must just wait for the medical aid to provide me with my Auth number. Guess what??? Its been a month and still no authorisation, the medical never received anything from them... They kept on calling the medical aid on my behalf telling me I didnt need an authorization and my claims is sorted giving me reference numbers....and guess what??? Still nothings been sorted. Worst service Ive ever experienced and the most stressful having to be pregnant and dealing with this when its supposed to be sorted

Poor Doctors service, too expensive, wait too long.I was told that there is nothing wrong with my kids and that i should continue giving them the medication I have at home.

Do yourself a favour, read the reviews below and make an appointment elsewhere..brought my husband here because they were the only doctor open after hours on a public holiday, paid R900 for the consultation, doctor diagnosed my husband with tonsillitis and booked him off for one day and the meds he prescribed wasn’t working ..the next day my husband still was not feeling better..I called the doctor only to be told we needed to drive all the way back if he wanted to be booked off again..and that we’d need to pay again if more meds were needed or a different diagnosis was made, he still commented and said that he remembers how bad my husband was but for legal reasons and because we came on a public holiday he could only book him off for one day.. decided to cut our losses and seek a second opinion closer to our home..this doctor booked my husband off for the entire week, gave him a voltaren injection and upped his dosage of antibiotics due to the severity of my husband’s tonsils, we sat in the doctors consultation for 20 mins compared to a mere 5 mins with doctor Kathan..please please read the reviews below and book somewhere else you won’t be disappointed nor will you be out of pocket because of a pointless visit to DR Kathan.

I am very disgusted with the type of service I received, I paid so much money to see the doc on the 13 July and still today the infection came back, she recommended me the tablets when I insisted to tell her that I want my usual meds because I know the history of what I am suffering with. I mean really now, the Dr didnt give me a hearing, she was not very easy to talk to, and only because shes a Doc DOES NOT mean she KNOWS everything. I thought calling and explaining my situation there would some kind of solution to this whole issue but she just brushed me off like what I am saying didnt/doesnt matter. I am honestly disgusted with the level of service I received and do believe it could have been handled much better if the Dr would have listened, had empathy and compassion, do such doctors even exist??? I wont sent foot at DR KATHANS again and I mean I have been going there for so many years, if you give me the best the surely it would have worked but it clearly didnt. So much for being a doctor.

Been at many many gp offices my life but never have u experienced such horrible service from the secretary at the front desk from the moment I stepped in it took awhile for her to even acknowledge me as a client then every question I had she answered with such attitude and arrogance... Will NEVER go there again and recommend this gp office to no one.

My medical information was loudly exposed in the reception to all and the doctor stuck the needle incorrectly that it bleed through my shorts! She chuckled when I was unable to sit in the chair! Never coming here again! She knew exactly what she was doing coz shes been doing it for years! Asssult! Humiliated and embarrassed!WOULDNT RECOMMEND!

I brought my wife in to the GP branch 05/06/2019 , the waiting period was longer than what the Drs consultation was of R 400 for 5 minutes??? A week later my wife is still coughing and feeling the same even though we used the medication as directed. We called and it will be another R 300 for a follow up consultation??? Never will I ever recommend this place. . .

On Thursday, 22 June 2017 I was at your Bayview surgeryas I wasnt feeling well. I waited from half past four to to almost half past seven to see the dr. I waited longer as to the less than five minutes the dr spend with me. I thought that I will be seeing the lady dr, dr Charmaine but to my avail it wasnt. When Dr George arrived, he smelt like a chumney. I find this very unproffesional as he has no respect for his patients. I dont smoke. Whne he saw to me I informed that dr as to what was wrong and the only thing he did was check the front of my chest, my ears, my throat and check for fever. He did not check my blood pressure which I found very strange cause whenever I see the dr thats what they do. He didnt not even ask if I was a allegic to anything. So on Saturday I still wasnt feeling welll and asked the receptionist to please asked the dr if he could change the date to Monday but was told that dr doesnt do admin on a Saturday. She was very rude and through the certificate on the cupboard. She said I should collect it on Monday afternoon. How stupid as I needed by certificate for work.This is not the first time that I have expierenced this bad service from Dr George. A copuple of months ago I brought my daughter in as she was complaining abount this hard blue mark in her face. He also saw her smelling like smoke. At the time he had a cold. He would cough in his hands, scratch his nose and then continue examining my daughter without washing his hands. This is pathetic that a dr dont wash his hands before examinig a patient. Last week Thursday I took my baby to doctor kathan in grassy park he diagnosed my kid with tonsils but he didnt give her a full check up only checked her throat,gave her antibiotics and alergex and as a private patient not medical aid I paid cash of R350 which I dont mind its my baby anyway 4days has passed antibiotics was finished and my child wasnt getting better just worst,phoned on the 5th day and told receptionist my story she said I must bring my baby back I asked if I must pay consultation again and she said shes dont no the doctor will decide if its a follow up or consultation again but she dont tell me what the fees will be anyway I take my baby back doc see us and she diagnosed my kid with bronchitis and she gives me alergex again and a antibiotic its time to pay and it comes to 350 again I only had a 300 on me as its that time of the month and they tell me its 250 for the follow up and 100 for the antibiotic so they took back the antibiotics and let me leave with no medication for my baby...if the stupid receptionist knew her story I could have saved petrol and take my child to another doctor with that 300 and I would have gotton cough suryp and antibiotics for her ,I wasted my last money going there and I didnt get medicaction for my baby..really wot is a R50 they could have just see me in I would have paid them back its sad ill never go to the Kathans again
