I had excellent care from the moment of admissions right until I was discharge. To the nurses that checked up on me and that was constantly there thank you, you guys are gems. To my doctors thank you for taking exceptional care of me. To the kitchen and cleaning staff you guys are amazing thank you for always being ready for chat and laugh when you come around.

I felt like I was on holiday,the staff every single one who assisted in ward Q.wether it was the staff in charge of the food,the cleaners,the nurses,I really mean EVERYONE they are the best of the best.Friendly,even funny most of the time,helpful and patient.Thank you Melomed.

My experience in gateville melomed has been good.The doctors and staff in emergency,P.I.U ,Medical ward was excellent. They treated me with compassion ,they wer kind and had alot of patience .Doctor ameen is a brilliant specialist.Nurse tekile one of the best nurses in medical ward.Only on person that made my stay very unpleased and treated me like she was doing me a favor when she was needed was nurse Fazlin BloombergShe was irritated when she was called and her attitude was not good. Friendly and helpful staff. Quick admission and treatment. Only issue was that the specialist that was assigned to me was never there. Only to discharge me. His stand-in was most helpful. Its a pity cant remember hes name.

On Saturday the 19th June, I went to the Emergency Unit at Gatesville for a migraine treatment. From the lady who screened us at the entrance, to the nurse who took my vitals, to Justin who saw to me and to the DR, Fatima who oversaw my care. Everyone was so nice and made me feel at ease. I really had such an amazing stay at Gatesville Melomed. From the minute I walked in ,to the day I was discharged. I was treated like an absolute queen by your staff. The unit Manager Liezel Scott, is one phenomenal woman. Always checking up on patients, reassuring us and really ensuring that our stay is comfortable. Her team took such good care of me. The hospital is clean, food, top class as though you are in a restaurant. The ward I was in was cleaned daily so you had a fresh smell all day. Everybody was very helpful and caring. I would recommend this hospital any time.

Is was admitted at Gatesville hospital on the 31st August due to Covid19. The care I received from the entrance to the trauma as I was struggling to breath was so amazing the quick response, passion and sympathy from the staff is so recommendable . I dont know what to say day about your Covid Ward staff. I dont have enough words to thank them for their dedication to their work, the care for the patients they work so hard. On Monday 21st July I was admitted to Melomed Gatesville hospital for covid 19 pneumonia. The admission process was a little frustrating and took almost 5hrs to get me admitted.Other than that I was given a bed and admitted, things went well from there and my 6 days spent under their care especially My Physician Dr Abrahams was very good. All staff were very professional and courteous.Thank you so much for taking care of me and those that remain in you care.

I would not prefer to go any other hospital(my children were admitted to hospitals outside the province, they simply do not come close to melomed Gatesville). Thank you to the nurses and hospitality staff in pediatric ward for making our stay a pleasant one. They are all extremely helpful and friendly. Parents should really stop being cocky towards the staff, they work themselves to the bone daily.

As per my previous 3 complaints I was never going to return to melomed hospitals. This time around we landed up at the hospital due to an emergency. Not knowing we were going to be admitted. My daughter had an accident but both of us were treated so amazingly, we both felt pampered. I got sick on the last 2 days stay while accompanying my daughter and wow did they take care of me. Immediately on the second day of the admissions I was boasting to the family of the ultimate service and how at home I felt. Doctors was so amazing too, we came in for 1 problem but with out me knowing the doctor investigated the accident and BAM! he was getting to the bottom of the issue. As usual Dr Ismail get things done! He gets to the bottom of the issues and resolves it right then and there. Dr nondela did not even have to pop in and say hi the next day because her job was done basically, but she came around just to check up on us. The care givers , nursing staff, administrators and cleaning team (too many names) all were just amazing. I would have sworn this was not the same hospital I was at before. In a nut shell, the staff under promised and over delivered! I am definitely spreading the word further. The peads ward definitely deserves recognition!!!!

Went in for a day procedure, staff was great and the facilities was immaculate. The only issue I have was with parking. There was no provision made for day procedures and we had to park on the street. When leaving the facility being discharged late, I had to face loafers whilst carrying a child and a bag. These loafers cleaned my car without my permission and demanded a payment for it. If the hospital could find a way for safer parking for their clients then they would be getting a 5 star rating.

I was admitted on July 19th , I didnt mind the wait on the ER because the staff was really really busy and they honestly tried their level best , I was taken care of like a queen . The staff is so hands-on and patient . You feel at ease and Dr Gafoor who treated me , thanks to him I could literally breathe again . I was in the covid ward and the staff, nursing, docs, food people, they treated me like Im important. I didnt feel like as if Im simply another patient. Even on me leaving, the staff at Gatesville branch was amazing!!The nurses and food staff made you feel like youre in a restaurant as opposed to a ward where most people are dying. Had a vaccination appointment at 8am. Due to their inefficiency it is now almost 5pm and I am still in the queue. They knew how many people were booked yet they did not have the resources together to efficiently run the process. Oh the joys of living in a failed African state.And i only got a reply from them 4 weeks later. pathetic

I arrived at the hospital by ambulance and was immediately helped by the staff who realized that I was in great pain. I was very impressed with the staff in both the trauma unit and the wards. The staff was friendly, helpful and very attentive. The hospital is clean and well maintained. All covid19 protocols are followed to the letter. Highly recommended.

My mom was taken up 3weeks ago and passed away on 21 Dec due to covid. What appalls me is her phone being stolen with her being on a ventilator. This can be expected from a state hospital, but to have personal belongings taken from you while dying...its inhumane.I understand staff being busy and over worked, and I appreciate what they do however one cannot turn away from your loved ones belongings going missing in the state that theyre in.Absolutely shocking!Randall

Absolutely disgusting if I could rate this hospital 0 I would . They keep you in the PUI when you had a negative covid test report saying there are no beds. You can never keep a covid negative patient in a ward where other patients are waiting for results.They even didnt give the medication no follow up calls . Doctors are fantastic Pathetic service for a private hospital.

Ive been at the hospital twice for admission to give birth and had an excellent experience and stay both times. Truly impressed. The only reason I didnt give it the full 5 stars is because the second time around recently the reception staff at the entrance of the hospital was not always friendly and were really moody at times which I did not appreciate. I understand we in a pandemic and its stressful but everyone has to deal with it not just them. Other than that I had an amazing experience.

I always go to this hospital as its the closest one to home. Over the years their patient care has weakened and I honestly feel like that hospital is not for black people. My last experience a receptionist at the ER told me I will not be helped unless I make a payment, even though I have medical aid. I ended up calling my medical aid service provider and only then, when they spoke to that receptionist, was I helped. Bare in mind I went there because my eyes were bleeding. I will never set my foot there

The lady at the door was so helpful, her name is Christelle. My brother was admitted due to gun wounds and he wasnt answering his phone and no one knew which ward he was laying. The lady called all the wards till she got hold of the correct ward. She was really helpful, thank you very much.

Currently at Room 301 Gynaecology & Obstetrics, the level of non compliance for Covid-19 is disgusting.Receptionist sitting behind a screen with no mask because the screen is protecting them, thats what I was told. The pregnant receptionist cant breathe with a mask, so cant she wear a shield?! Patients masks dropped below their chins...So I take this to customer consultant at reception who tells me the doctors work independently and there is nothing they can do about it.Were in the middle of a pandemic, in a hospital with non compliance. Where does that leave us?! Absolutely disgraceful to say the least. Its too much of an inconvenience to wear a mask.

I was admitted on the 9th of October, my last hospital visit was in May 2018. I am very happy to say that firstly the meals are absolutely divine, from breakfast to late night snacks . It makes being in hospital a bit easier with the wide selection of tasty home cooked meals. The Unit Manager is absolutely amazing and she is very hands on. She is up and down all day and regularly checked on how my ivig treatment was going. She is kind , sensitive and very compassionate. I have watched how well she deals with her staff as well. The nurses and caregivers are all so friendly and caring. The cleaning staff is friendly and have done an excellent job at keeping my room spotless 24/7.I was admitted very symptomatically but under the good hands of Dr Ameen who has been my neurologist since 2012 I am feeling so much better than when I was first admitted. Melomed Gatesville has an absolutely amazing team . Thank you for taking such good care of me !!!

I have been at Gatesville medical more than once now,from covid19 to 2 surgeries and staff from admissions to the wards the service was excellent, my specialist Dr Abdull Gafoor and Dr Banderker very professional and they handle u as if u part of they family, I think with staff like that they deserve to be told how we appreciate them cause they good in what they do from security. Porter supervisors, catering, sisters will all other staff deserve a big bonus.

They were always concerned and fussing over their patients, which I found to be absolutely great hospitality and professional mannerisms. Day ward staff were absolutely amazing. My 1st experience at this hospital was in July this year in the maternity ward and it was the most upsetting and horrid experience but this time round my anxiety from past experience was put to rest by the wonderful human beings who work in this ward. The staff inside the hospital are very friendly and helpful but I have to admit that they need to work on security. Parking is terrible and the outside of hospital is not secure. The hubcaps were stolen off my car during the half hour that it was parked in the lot if the hospital!

It is with a heavy and sad heart to have to do a review on the service received at Gatesville Melomed Priv hospital.1stly I want to mention my family, extended family and I have been patients and visitors of Gatesville Melomed for many many years. Even one of my parents were employed there for many years and therefore it was a place I would recommend anyone for great medical service and attention. But to my disgrace have we experienced the most horrific experience for the past few weeks actually.On Thurs evening my dad was rushed to hospital to be admitted and to my suprised we arrived at the hospital at 6.22pm... My dad had to sit outside in the car and wait to be attended to at 8.43pm and then he was only admitted. Mind u in pain outside.He has now been hospitalised for 4days already and to date has not one of the medical team staff or doctors gotten back to us as a family with an update in my dads condition. We have been contacting the hospital and their lines is down. That we understand but should there not be atleast one person just giving families an update in the conditions of their family member in hospital especially under the circumstances that no one is allowed in at the hospitals during this time.I am very sad to say the standards at Melomed Gatesville has really dropped. I would like to know who we can get in contact with to get feedback on the my fathers condition please.

Still in the medical ward and have had the worst service. Putting up a drip was absolute carnage on my arms. Burst veins and swollen hand as a result! The attitude of the staff is as if they are doing me a favor!Admission was Thursday.Friday, relocated due to scheduled maintenanceThe curtains in relocated ward is riddled with blood stainsNo hot water in showers. No plugs in the basins so couldnt even wash and the water flow is heavily restricted. Respectfully due to water restrictions but I think its overly exaggerated.My iv line was painful and oozing blood from the insition point. I told the nurse and after some persuasion she unhappily agreed to come change it but never did. Proceeded to put medication through and the iv line was full off bubbles that hurt as they passed into my vein.Saturday morning I reiterated that the iv live was painful. Very irritated at me the same nurse instructed another to remove the line and that she would come later to put up a new one. An hour later she tried twice and failed. She called another nurse who failed once and succeed on the second attempt but blew up my hand. My hand is swollen and hurts. She mentioned that she would bring me some sort of cream to ease the swelling but a half hour has passed and now its handover so I doubt that someone will come back to me about my handApart from that, beds were not made up in our ward yesterday.

The worst hospital out there. I am now going to change my cardiologist and other doctors to ensure I never have any dealings with hospital staff, although I am very happy with my doctors.Please be aware, a sister Du Plessis cannot administor a drip. She tried and injured a nerve on my hang in Aug 2019. I have since then have endless discussions and talks with various staff. My hand is not healed after I was asked to wait until end Sep 19, and now nursing staff is reading but not responding / ignoring to my emails.

I was admitted on Monday 06-08 and Im being discharged today.The kind and generous people working here are really a sight for sore eyes.A huge thank you to Dr. Anderson , Sister Cindy and all the others ( there are so many) who was there for me in my hour of need . I will never forget what all of you wonderful people have done for me.Your love and passion for helping others is truely amazing.Thank you once again for everything and keep up the great work.
