This is a fabulous spot located on the canals in the City of Cape Town. Warm, inviting and pet friendly.. the buzzing atmosphere tempts you to stay longer.Fresh bakes on display and the most enticing aroma of freshly ground coffee beans … blissful.As this spot is on the canal and on the main thoroughfare to the big City it makes for the perfect stop for breakfast or coffee stop when venturing the area.We were promptly seated and ordered breakfast for four … two of the same items … toasted ham & cheese and the man size breakfast … (waiter had to confirm a few times… 3 to be exact) .. no worries looking forward to coffee …One Caffe Latte arrived then the Chai Latte and I was desperately seeking my masterful Cappuccino which was forgotten but brought round later.It has been Covid and in this time of uncertainty a lot can be excused absolutely.. we will carry on looking forward to breakfast..Beautifully presented on black plates .. absolutely enticing and visually appealing. Toasted sandwich came with cream cheese .. not appreciated by the 8 year old … but nevertheless.. it was good.Breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, mushrooms and tomato were fantastic. Sadly the bacon could not be cut with my serrated steak knife which I proved to the waiter while laughing hysterically… he said he would speak to the Chef .. sadly he never returned. Only to bring the bill.Would have been great to get some feedback regarding the bacon on both plates. But we will blame the current situation .. rest was awesome.Cappuccino was beautiful.Only other annoyance which is not a critique but more of a request is to have salt and pepper we had two salt one which came out so fast we got over salted. The request for tomato sauce, honey and chili was brought after two requests and then during the meal our tomato sauce was removed never to be seen again … little things but silly annoyances they remain.Will return again as the concept and vibe is good. Perhaps a bad morning … but forgivable this time 🙌🏼

The ambiance is set up for maximum productivity, there are outlets at every table, the food is yummmmmy, not too heavy, but still flavour packed. BUT the music is so loud you cant even hear yourself think, the waiter we had? She was on her phone the whole time, we had to hunt her down EVERY time we needed something and she knew nothing about the menu. The cups smelled like spit and when I told the waiter, she said oh haha SHAME??? Other than that I do think its a nice place for coffee with friends or a quick lunch with colleagues, but I suggest you ask for tea/coffee in the paper cups.

Loved it. Setting and furnishing is top notch. Both classic coffees and some really different and unique options - like coffee and fruit juice concoctions which I would never have expected but was delicious! Staff were super friendly and plage is fully covid compliant.

Business hours is a lie. Have been there more than once, both times closed / closing. They seem to close between 3pm and 4pm, so at least 3 hours before indicated. No notice on either Google Maps, the storefront or Facebook. Also never answers the phone. If they make disappointment impossible, Im sorry, but it has to be 1 star.

Awesome spot with a really nice selection of interesting things to eat and drink. Staff were very helpful and attentive too. Coffee was damn fine.

I really enjoy this place!! I have spent the last 4 days working from here and getting various food and drinks items on the menu. The music is quite loud so if you want to chat with a friend its better to sit outside. There are power outlets by all seats so its easy to work here! I would really recommend it! Great coffee, smoothies, juices and food! :)

Breakfast is good, cappuccino and tea was well prepared and served. The position is pleasant near the canal. They didn’t have butter but everything else was good.

Lovely spot! Staff is wonderful, food is delicious, coffee is good! What’s not to love?Other than it being easier to jump in the canal than to find the washroom, this place is perfect! Definitely recommend!

With seating inside and outside and a view of the Mother Citys Table Mountain through the cloudscrapers life can go by while you sip and or eat your way into another memorable moment.Yet another fantastic venue our beautiful city gives you to choose!! The service is warm and friendly (although you cant always see the smiles behind the mask- covid times)A yummylicious experience👏👏👏

Perfect location for a coffee shop, right on the canal with gorgeous views, good food including healthy options and vegetarian however the lack of staff training let them down, they argue with customers as what they consider a mug and a cup.

This is the second branch of Shift Espresso Bar in Cape Town. Please visit this place if you want to be close to everything Italian. Neighbor of Ferrari and Ducatti. The Croissant was a bit burnt but still very tasty.

I will not be returning. Made the mistake of ordering a burger and it was very disappointing. The patty was very dry, it was served to me on what should only be a side plate and a circle of mayo was added only to fill the mayo criteria. The service was also very poor.

Food was good, prices are fair and service was TOP-notch. Thank you Brian, for being so cheerful and welcoming, and helpful to not mind mopping up a spilt cup of drink that we spilled accidentally. We asked for the spare plates as we wanted to share our food. What was served was the food thoughtfully divided into 2 equal portions. Great initiative, very thoughtful gesture and service. Thanks for a good experience there. Will be back!

Great place to stop for a coffee or a quick bite. They also serve nice juices and smoothies. I like staying there for longer periods, working my laptop on emails, even reports for work. The water besides has people paddling on SUPs, as well as boat-tours cruising up-down the Canal, which all contributes to the nice atmosphere of the place...

Apart from serving excellent coffee and having an engaged and friendly staff, this is the dream of every young lady with an Instagram account, with a range of fashionable dishes (granola with yoghurt and fruit, avocado on toast, etc) presented in a photo-friendly way. For those of us whose lives dont revolve around social media likes, know that this is located within walking distance of the Waterfront, serves excellent coffee, delicious food (especially breakfast), and has good service. Recommended.

Great vibe, super friendly staff and the steamers are sublime.8 months later and unfortunately standards seem to have dropped. I ordered a hot chocolate take away and when I got back to my office and finally had a sip it tasted like I was given hazelnut syrup in water. Its horrible.

I LOVE this place, the atmosphere, the location and decor. BUT service can be improved.- Went to counter to ask for WiFi password. Barista ignored me and passed me over to someone else.- Waited an hour for food (delicious though!) - kitchen did not see the order.- Asked for food menu to order a sandwich, waiter never came back. I was 1 of 2 people in the cafe.I will be back as its such an amazing spot but I think service can be better.
