We had the privilege of having Thyme Kitchen cater for a spit braai for us last Saturday. We were entertaining some clients from the bank and wanted to make an impression, and we certainly did. Panashe, the chef, was the epitome of professionalism and was so polite and friendly, and he knew what he was doing. The food was sublime, and not a morsel left (30 guests). It was officially the best spit braai I have ever had, the potatoes and other extras were fantastic. I would highly recommend Thyme Kitchen for anyone wanting an amazing experience. Highly recommended.

I had the best experience right from ordering. The guy who helped me(forgot his name) was so helpful, explained everything to me, promptly sent me the quote of what I wanted. Delivery was exactly on time. Everything well laid out and the food was soo delicious. My guests were impressed. I will be using them again definitely.

So I paid Kobus R2500 as a deposit for my 60 birthday in March 2020. I had to postpone due to Covid. I contacted Kobus to have a spitbraai again in July 2021, to which he agreed. I paid another R2500 deposit, so that is R5000 out of my pocket. Then he disappeared, not answering emails, telephone calls or Whatsapp. When I went to visit is home address, they were inside, but refused to to open the door. My party was due yesterday, with no spitbraai in sight. I wat trying to postpone until7 Aug, but no communication. What should I do, I have no other resort left than the SAPS

Why must we be treated badly, there is COVID LOCKDOWN, which is no reason to ignore telephone calls & emails, after paying deposit for a service which has not been delivered. We tried making changes to accommodate all, but you dont acknowledge queries, calls and emails.Communication is the cornerstone of a successful business.I suggest you read the Consumer Protection Act.5 AprilResponse to Kobus/Thymekitchen -Kobus you are quick to call a situation as someone spreading lies about your business when you are so frugal with the truth. Did we look to change the order, YES 100% correct - this due to some of our guests having passed away from COVID.Did we request you to deliver the food to various homes, YES, 5 not 6.We had no issue paying for delivery given the lockdown & limited gatherings, however your later e mail took deliveries off the table despite your original telephone confirmation that this could happen, and you indicated you did home deliveries during lockdown as a means of business survival.We never reached consensus this year for home deliveries on 27.3.21, not your stated 28.3.21, as your response to my request for with reduced numbers was it does not work like that (dated 1.3.21).I followed up on 12.3.21 to advise if you were not able to cater for the lower numbers that we would go with a refund. Again no response and followed up on the 17.3.21, given no response to telephone calls or emails. At that stage you left me with no alternative but to post my review on your site, where-after on 18.3.21, you start with replies of do what you please, trying to sound clever is not going to help, I will cater to my original invoice on MY TERMS.Subsequent to these statements, we made telephone contact wherein you first chose the route of complete aggressiveness as if I was somehow one of your employees who had done something wrong instead of being a paying customer. At no stage did you attempt to reach a suitable compromise that worked for both parties but rather one of YOU WILL DO IT MY WAY OR HIT THE ROAD AND GET LOST! This is not how a successful business operates or engenders good customer relations.With regards your comment about having email and whatsapp correspondence, you have my email correspondence however I have not communicated with yourself via whatsapp, so it will be interesting as to how you will possibly have whatsapp correspondence when nothing was sent via this platform - maybe you are mixing customers up??Your email dated the 19.3.21 was apologetic of the manner in which you had dealt with the situation, and you indicated that you would refund the deposit as funds became available. It is only after this email that we understood where the problem lies, namely that you have utilized my deposit despite the fact that no service has been provided to-date, which is why you needed the full order to take place as you would obviously have utilized the balance of the payment to fund the food required for catering purposes. It is a pity that on the 23.3.21 you decided to revert to your original non customer friendly approach again. (I can copy paste your said email as a reminder of what you stated about the refund and why the situation had arisen if you need this expanded in the public domain).I look forward to the refund in order that we can go our separate ways as I wish to have no further dealings with your company based on your customer mannerisms, I would not be inclined to subject my guests to what ever food you choose to provide.6 AprilAbove review edited for spaceHello KobusThe message you pasted was last year when SA moved to level 1, and shows I was eager for event to occur, however we went back to level 3 which prompted the January calls and emails and the later changing of numbers due to deceased parties. What you are however not allowed to do ito the POPI ACT is place confidential personal data in public domain (address, telephone number and name together), so remove it or it will be reported to the regulator as a breach of the ACT.

Kobus and his team set up an incredible dinner and the good was seriously delicious.

The food was awesome! Highly recommended. They delivered on time and collected the dishes the next day. You cant go wrong with letting them cater for your event.

We had a big party with 80 people, we had the spit delivered. The guys brought it right on time and even left some items with us to keep the food warm in case we ate later than the set time. It was so decently priced and cutlery + dishes included saved a lot of running arounf. The food was nothing short of amazing - the meat was so soft, well flavoured and juicy. I would definitely recommend anyone having an event to use this company.I loved the food and our guests couldnt stop talking about how good it was either.

We ordered from Kobus on Saturday for my 50th bday celebration. Kobus is helpful when quoting and his staff member was very sweet and delivered on time.Unfortunately we did not check the meat when it was delivered as some of our guests arrived. If we had checked I would definitely have sent everything back. The meat was terrible we could not even serve our guests a slice of meat. It was just pieces and so fatty. I was so embarrassed that my guests had to eat such a terrible meal. We gave the meat to the dogs as we could not eat it.The fact that he did not even reply to my husbands message proves he has not regard for customers and really could not care for after service. His website definitely is false advertising as what you see on the pictures is not what you get.Not sure about his money back guarantee according to his site. He does not even reply to your messages.I do not recommend his company if you dont want to be embarrassed with the food you serve.

VROT VROT VROT MEATOrdered a prepared LEKKE MENU for Christmas. Invoice indicated that delivery will be at 10h00 on 25 Dec 2018. However, it came on 24 Dec 2018 but I was given the assurance that it will be good for the next day as it was prepared at 8h45 that day. So I kept it directly underneath a freezing cold aircon till the next day.But OMG, when it was opened on Christmas morning I was totally shocked at what I found. The meat was VROT VROT VROT !!!!!! The stench was so bad and compared with decomposed body !!!!!Obviously it was left untouch and removed to the garage in order to return it and to claim a refund in terms of the refund gaurantee on their website. Quote: Offer 100% money back should you not receive what you paid for unqoate. There were also no malva poeding which is part of the menu. If it had not been for the meat my geusts contributed my Christmas lunch would have been ruined. But I will give credit where credit is due - the curried noodle salad was edible. So the one star is for the noodle salad.We were able to return the VROT MEAT to thymekitchen this morning but guess what? Kobus, the owner, claims that we kept it for so long on purpose with the idea for the meat to go off. CAN A RIGHT MINDED PERSON BELIEVE THIS??Instead of a refund or even an apology Kobus THREATEND OUR BUSINESS WITH AN SARS PROBE. Apparently since his mother is an SARS employee and threfor OUR BED (must be referring to the business) IS MADE !!Fortunately our business in fully compliant as it has been since 1995 when establised.ADVICE: WHEN ORDERING FROM THEM DONT DARE TO COMPLAIN AND MAKE SURE YOUR SARS MATTERS ARE IN ORDER.AND DONT EXPECT A REFUND - ALL YOU WILL GET BACK IS THREATS AND INSULTS.Afterthought: They claim to be in business for 20 years but the business was only registered on 17 July 2018. Makes you wonder.
