While being a bit hidden away, the food here is fantastic. It was well worth the adventure finding this place, and if you go I recommend their sushi.

We had an early supper at Blue Water recently. Our last minute booking was honored (which is great). Waitron was very friendly and helpful. Food was fresh and portion sizes were generous. Will be back.

I have not been in the restaurant yet. My friend insisted this will be best sushi in town, so we had sushi take away. She was not wrong. Look forward to trying restaurant again

I loved the fresh crayfish. However, I was disappointed on a number of fronts. The dessert menu hailed from lockdown and was no longer valid, which the waiter neglected to tell me. Instead of a lovely array of decadent-sounding desserts, only two items were on offer, including a brownie and ice cream, which, granted, was delicious. Secondly, the sauce on the mussels wasnt great. It had too much pepper and the onions werent cooked. In general the food lacked a bit of seasoning. Otherwise the service was great and we enjoyed our time there.

We enjoyed it. Waiter was welcoming, friendly and prompt. Nice variety wine options. Vibe was relaxing. Sushi was great, calamari was great, fish and chips was great. Dessert options was lacking. Overall price range medium to high. We got a great special on the Wednesday,20 -30 % off.

This place is great. Upon arrival the owner immediately took the fact that we had a baby into consideration and seated us in a quiet place and convenient spot. The owner and staff was friendly, the service was great, food came quick and our glasses were always full.The food was amazing, tuna steak was great and the side dish was great aswell. Presentation was a little lacking. Apart from that fantastic restaurant. Pram and wheelchair friendly. This is a must stop if your hungry. They only serve seafood but will gladly get steak from a neighbor restaurant. Keep it up.

Good sushi experience, love the boat where they serve the sushi, however 1890 sushi is still my favourite place for the best sushi in Cape Town. Our waitress is friendly and fast. They need to tidy up the reception area, we saw piles of fruit/veg boxes and plastic bags when we entered the entrance. Not the best view when you enter a restaurant. Booking is advisable, especially if you going for dinner.

Very expensive, not to mention the hake I was given in stead of the kingklip Ive ordered. Very disappointing.

Wow. Did not expect this. Wonderful sushi. 4x4 fot starters, sushi prawn salad for mains and ice cream for dessert. No gelato - out of stock, but I will go back for the African Dream Gelato. Recommend the fish and chips as well! Great seafood restaurant!!

Stumbled across this amazing restaurant on our way back from the wine farm in Somerset West !Great cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.The food was delicious. Sushi portions were big, fresh, and value for money - unlike most other restaurants who give you tiniest bit of fish, they gave us proper cuts !We had the lobster/crayfish special they had and it did not disappoint - very very tasty.All in all an amazing experience and will definitely be back, the next time we visit the Cape !

So I enjoyed the food but the feeling of the restaurant sucked.It was dirty. I understand if a restaurant have like a days worth of dust in the reception. This was unfortunately unacceptably lacks. The portrait is dirty. The bottom of the frames is a different color from the sides of the frame.The décor doesnt flow nicely at all. The bathrooms are filthy and the doors of is so discoloured that the stains seem to be the pattern.I would not recommend this restaurant if you want to impress someone. However.The food was okay. The sushi is above average for the surrounding restaurants and the fish I had was okay but dull. The stir-fry was sort of the best thing.Food was served hot and fresh. The staff were accommodating and friendly.The only reason I walked out with disgust is the filth of the front of house

Great potential. Weve been there twice. (Pre-lockdown and post lockdown) Both times, the wait for food was extensive and frustrating and service sub-par. The second time there were very limited options - like no rooibos tea, no juices etc. Limited options for people with food intolerances and dietary restrictions. Better indications of ingredients like dairy and gluten would be appreciated. Food was tasty but pricy. Nice venue and setting. Cozy.

We always order take away sushi from you, but we have had a hard time with the what’s app group to order take away. Sometimes it takes very long before someone responds, mostly I end up phoning as well to get a response. And we have NEVER had the correct order delivered. Sometimes things are left out. Other times we get something completely different from what we ordered.

We had a great time, pity there were so few people in the restaurant due to lockdown. Food was fantastic!

The seafood platter here is really nice for us. The seasoned lobsters and shrimps are fresh and juicy. There are two kinds of fish fillets in the platter, both are nice too.

Good perhaps not quite up to the standard of the previous owner. No bread available with Prawn Cocktail was a first. Overall good value for money

I have eaten here quite a few times over the years and the food has always been superb. In many ways the new location is better, there area wide variety of dining areas, some more formal and others more casual. When booking specify the type of area you want.This place is always busy, not surprising given the food quality, friendly and prompt service and great pricing.I love the seafood salad and the portion is huge, I have never eaten fresher.Wines are good and not excessively marked up with plenty available by the glass.I cant wait for my next visit

We went on a Saturday night and were the only table in the restaurant. They ended up moping around us before wed finished eating (this was 9pm, not very late).The sushi was ok but the sashimi was way too massive to be enjoyable.The desert was a frozen cake. Not an ice cream cake, mind you. A literal sponge cake that they had taken out of the freezer. For the first time in my life, I didn’t eat my dessert.The guy serving us was lovely though, so its a shame the food and atmosphere were so bad.

Really pleasant restaurant well looked after clean, greeted warmly as you arrived seated quickly. Waiter was attentive without being annoying. Drinks were quick we ordered service was just right food was freshly cooked everything on the plate was perfect. Overall worth the visit will go again.

I expected a bit more on the Dessert menu...no idea what it cost... no prizes on ..Very friendly staff...Oitsidr is so beautiful...know only open for 2 mnths now. Thoroughly enjoyed lunch here with excellent sea food and sushi. Comprehensive wine list at very reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.

Overall the food is very good and we had a nice time. One suggestion I have is that they do more with the table bread they serve. They gave us normal brown bread slices you buy at any supermarket.

My fish and chips at Blue Waters tasted really excellent. The fish was fresh and the batter was crisp and golden. The portion satisfactory.

Best sushi in Somerset West or Stellenbosch. Love their new style local fish sashimi and their roses are amazing. Overall just great quality and superb specialities.

Didnt have any oysters or the wine we initially wanted to order. Mussels were ice cold, tables crammed and what looked like the back of a fridge we had to look at hadnt been dusted for months. Chairs stained with tomato sauce. Really not worth the excessive prices for a rather dissapointing experience :(

My dear friend Mandi and I have been frequenting Blue Waters for over 20 years now, and we have every intention to do the same for the next 20! During this time chefs and waiters have come and gone, but the soul of Blue Waters, Chef Ghu has remained - he is a true legend! Along with the captain of this ship, Yanni, and stalwart waiter, Ryan, Blue Waters has been the ultimate sushi destination in the Winelands district - one that I can recommend without any reservations. Well done guys, we cannot wait for the renovations to be finished!
