40 minutes waiting to drop a vehicle off for service while all the staff a dragging their feet around. Clearly nobody has anything better to do in their minds. Pathetic service and nothing is done about it. You cannot expect people to wait that long to drop a vehicle for service. Then also get attitude from staff when I start shouting in frustration

I emailed Market Toyota Tokai in Cape Town Western Cape with regards to a test drive I booked for a new Toyota corolla hatchback. Unfortunately this specific dealership service is very unprofessional. Nobody at all came back to me with regards to my online request. 3 hours after I sent my first email to market toyota Tokai a lady contacted me still asking which car I would like to test drive new or used. I already stipulated in the online booking and in my email that I wanted to test drive the new Toyota corolla hatchback 2021.This dealership do not whatsoever pay attention to detail from what the clients needs are. Highly unprofessional and poor service delivery. I would not recommend anybody to purchase a vehicle at this dealership at all.Disappointed Customer

E-mailed with respect to a pre-owned. Received confirmation that the vehicle was still available. Contacted dealership directly to arrange viewing and test drive. Left three messages. Eventually got hold of pre-owned consultant on my fourth attempt. Only to get told the car has been sold. Poor communication skills, no return call. Perhaps a blessing in disguise not having to do business with this dealership.

I first emailed these guys literally a month ago about getting my car serviced. After a couple of days of no answer, I emailed again with a list of questions and finally heard back. Half my questions had been ignored so I asked again. No answer. I phoned on Monday and was told their system was down and they would call me back as soon as it was back up again. Havent heard anything since.

Visited here on Monday 13 July, as I have a small car repair business I needed to order a part which was only available from the Toyota factory, full payment is needed before the part can be ordered, I fully agree with this policy, as after order the customer can just not pitch to pay and collect, then the part sits on a shelfMarket Toyota Tokai is conveniently situated on the main road in Tokai on a busy intersection, it is well signposted making it easy to spot on the road.Parking is off street and ample, being under lock down, their safety protocol is second to none and the staff polite and friendly.The parts sales person I delt with was efficient and welcoming, so if you in the market for Toyota Cars or Spares head on down to Market Toyota Tokai, they will sort you.

I took my vehicle in for a repair and had a long wait just to check-in. They take more vehicles in a day than they can manage. I was asked to collect the next day only. I also found the work area to be extremely congested. Once you get into the queue there is no way out other than to wait your turn. Washbay, workshop, cleaning areas are congested and jam-packed with vehicles in for servicing and repairs.

Ridiculous service from Market Toyota Tokai. I booked my major service via their app and during the service I was informed that they did not have the specific parts for my vehicle. They had sufficient time to source these parts between my initial booking and the date of the service but they were too lazy to do that it seems. A few days later the parts arrived and my car was collected from my workplace for the rest of the service. Once my car was returned to me I found one of the mechanics tools in my engine bay!! This is gross negligence on behalf of Market Toyota Tokai!!!!

Post sales and after sales service is really amazing. Even thou we dont always post about places we have been, I must say that they service and help at toyota is world class. Whatever I have not been happy with so far before and even after taking the car, a call to my salesman Dane and it got sorted without a hassle. Thank you to Fiekie for fitting everything that had to be sorted and doing it so nice and neat. If ever I had to make a recommendation to people who wants wonderful service, buy a Toyota!! I was tricked into buying a service by Adrie Nel. My car was there to repair a noise the gearbox made. I was called by her and she told me the car missed alot of services. The quote she sent stated gearbox oil and differential oil,making me believe that would solve the problem. She then called me after they did the service and informed me that the gearbox and diff needed a complete overhaul. I reminded her that I told her to give me the overall costs first, so I could decide whether to go ahead with the repairs or not since the car was already old and maybe not worth expensive repairs. I was told I would have to pay for the service now anyway and would receive a quote for the gearbox that same day. It did not happen. When I paid over R 6000 for the unnecessary, unwanted service the next day I was promised the quote for that same day. Again nothing happened. It was my fault to have trusted Market Toyota Tokai. They just trick you into agreeing to unnecessary work and dont keep their promises. In fact, I was lied to. Please be very careful when dealing with these people.

1st time that Ive had a major engagement with Tokai for a number of years and Im honestly very disappointed.- I ordered an important replacement part (side view mirror) and they didnt inform me in a timely manner that the part had arrived.- I booked my car for a service and I was offered a ride home, but on the day the drivers just disappeared with other customers without any communication of how and when they propose to honour that commitment. When I informed the service staff, they were quite apologetic but did not offer any other solution, so I had to make my own way home.- They also could not complete the service on the day because there were parts that were out of stock and I was only informed of this when I collected my car. I now have to return to the dealership for a second time to have them complete the work.- After the service I noticed a discrepancy on the Invoice where they invoiced for 2 replacement parts (when the component only uses one) and I am convinced (given an inspection of that component that afternoon) that they didnt supply the other part either.Throughout all these issues I have either been offered very poor excuses in my opinion, or I received no feedback/follow-up whatsoever. Unfortunately this does not leave me with much confidence in the management and operation of this dealership, so Ill probably give them a miss in the future.UPDATE: 27 OCTOBER 2020So Ive just had my 2nd very poor service incident with Tokai. Took my car in for a diagnostic and left knowing nothing new at all. Per my understanding of the events, they did not investigate the issue properly the first time, then they did not have enough time left in the day (because I believe that they started the work very late) to investigate the issue before they closed for the weekend....Senior staff clearly couldnt care less either, IMO, but apparently I was Satisfied with the service per the (#USELESS IMO) Toyota post-service engagement process...So that will be my last engagement with Market Toyota Tokai....So much for second chances...

Experience started off great last year when my wife was buying a car. I took my Toyota Tazz in for a checkup during this time and the service received was fantastic.Although, one of the parts I needed was a new immobilizer remote. They said they could no longer find the part because it was discontinued and referred me to an after market (not original) provider. Toyota Ottery had the remote and was able to order more from head office.I took my car for a service 2 weeks ago. Communication on setting up the date was terrible. After a date was finalized I took the car in and was told a shuttle would be waiting to pick me up very soon. The shuttle only arrived after more than 1.5hrs.I told the agent exactly what service I wanted and what was needed. A crucial element was that the car overheated because of the fan not working. Possibly other elements. Service and all checks were done. They reported nothing was wrong with the fan or any element related to cooling. Tuesday I had to drive in peak traffic for a very very important meeting. The car overheated but I was in peak traffic so had to drive longer than I wanted before I could pull over. I missed the meeting.Towed the car to Toyota and so they could inspect.I was given a report of all the things that broke after the car overheated and told they do not have the parts I must take the car to Silverton.Nothing was said about the actual cause of the problem.No formal apology for missing the problem.I must now tow the car at my own cost.I must now fix all the damage done from the car overheating at my own cost.

Market Toyota Tokai is an interesting car dealership. Lovely showroom, professional staff from sales to service departments.What is very interesting about Market Toyota Tokai is the fact that they have top end vehicles on their showroom floor ( catering to the Tokai , Constantia catchment area). Then you you see this multitude of green beige Toyota bakkies . These are vehicles for SANParks and Pollsmor Prison. That is covering a large part of the market.Pleasant experience with friendly, professional staff.

This after Fury Toyota in JHB a month prior reported the same rack end as being worn and needing replacing (assessed on our way home from Zim). This video was taken roughly 15 min after leaving Market Toyota while on the lift at Dunlop Tokai (across the road). I am horrified by the thought of what could have happened had I accepted their assessment and had a steering failure either on the highway or in the middle of nowhere. That said I must commend the workshop manager Mark Overmeyer & Carmen Smith (service advisor) on recovering the situation well and arranging the part to be replaced in EL at Buffalo Toyota. I am posting this however as I feel there needs to be some consequence layered on the technician who concluded this to prevent other potential serious accident from happening as a result of a clearly irresponsible call like this.
