This place seems to offer everything one would need in the world of cameras and printing. I stopped in to have a handful of prints printed and the friendly and informative staff quickly had me sorted.4x6 prints were only R4 each and ready in about an hour. They also have secured parking.

Review for Orms, Cape Town Roeland Square:  The professionalism of ORMS and the attention to their clients needs must be mentioned in this review.I own a zoom microphone unit that had stopped working. I took it to ORMS for them to handle the repairs, because they are distributors of the brand.  They sent it on my behalf to the Zoom Technical Head Office and after 4 months of waiting, the device arrived back at ORMS.  However, there were no signs of the proposed repairs to the motherboard.I took it back to ORMS, who was immediately on the side of the client, offering a full refund of the repair that was paid in advance.  They also sent the unit back to the Zoom HO.In less than a week they called to inform me that the unit was ready for collection. To my surprise, ORMS supplied me with a brand-new unit, plus the option of a full refund. The fact of they still considered a monetary refund in addition to a brand new device, indicates a highly ethical and professional customer care approach.The visible face of ORMS was Joane, but I am sure that it was more people involved, so thank you so much to all of the ORMS team and especially Joane for the patience and the fluid communication.

Orms is the place to go for everything optical like cameras, binoculars and related equipment. Critically different in that experienced sales staff can help you in all aspects of their product line. I never leave disappointed. Recently I took a 16 year old Nikon Binoculars in for repair. After all this time Orms can get them fixed, albeit at the price of a new pair, but probably not the same quality. Covid19 protocols followed with care.

The staff at this store are friendly, helpful and are very knowledgeable.However, their inventory is pricey. So make sure to do your research first.Also they have strange trading hours for a store, so always make sure you google hours before going. Not even open on a Saturday, so not ideal for the working professional.

Ordered a camera online which was supposedly in stock. Next thing I notice that my order has a status on pre order. Be careful ordering if you need your camera relatively soon. I called and was told that they actually didnt have stock and that it was arriving in 3 weeks. The website was misleading and I had to get a refund processed as a result. Poor experience. Used Kameraz instead and was blown away by their service and prices.

Not sure about the quality of the service at the local Cape Town store, but their online service is appalling. It has taken nearly two months for my order to be completed and every time i have called and been promised a delivery, it never comes. I was promised to get it today, so holding thumbs, but going by my experience so far it probably wont arrive. This is ridiculous. I should not have to hunt down my order.

A wonderful adventure, this is the coolest shop for those who love photography and all things lenses!! I bought the latest Sony headphones ANC because Orms is a Sony product distributor. They really do take care of their customers, they serve you coffee ☕....

The camera sails people are absolutely the best and helpful and really know their stuff but the printing people and film development people suck, sorry there’s no other way to say it. I’ve been going there for 3 years to develop film and they still don’t know me and they say they will phone .. they don’t, they are also rude at the counter (one or two are nice) . So expect a fight there . I don’t know another place to develop but if I did I’d go elsewhere.

Professional. Full stop. Met the owner, Mr Mike Omrod. He replaced a Canon 80D body (my first purchase had focus issues) No hassle! If you want to save R50 on something, you might find it cheaper elsewhere. But you will not get this service! Highly recommended for overall experience.

Lousy service delivery.On more than one occasion have I been disappointed in the lack of decent service at ORMS, but I kept finding myself coming back and treating those as “once off” experiences. However, I’ve had enough and will not be spending another cent at this establishment.- I never get the sms’s for when my film or print orders are ready for pick up.- film has come back, on more than one occasion, extremely dusty and uncut even though I requested for it to be cut, which isn’t a massive problem except that the full roll is just stuffed into a small envelope with a high chance of it being scratched or harmed.- I never get contacted when I place orders for items that are going to be restocked.- on multiple occasions my prints have come back with scratches on them. One time I placed a huge order worth over R800 for prints. And everything was just stuffed into 1 envelope, all different sized prints just stuffed into 1 sized envelope. So many of the prints were scratched I had to come back and get things reprinted, I was treated like it was my fault, and I was talked down to so harshly that I just felt horribly embarrassed.- the staff are nice and pleasant but that seriously doesn’t make up for the huge lack of actual service delivery.

My favourite camera store (whether it be Bellville store or one in town) youre bound to find what you like. The guys can even pre-order stuff if they dont have what you are looking for in stock. From my first camera two years ago till now, I shop at ORMS.

The staff and shop are a testament to putting the customer experience first. From my first phone call to picking up my purchase, to the modern, spacious interior to the coffee bar, I was made to feel welcome and unrushed. Orms can happily stand alongside other major camera stores like B&H in New York, and there is a reason they have been the prime purveyor of cameras and photography in Cape Town for so long. Orms is, without a doubt, the premier destination in Cape Town for all your photographic and printing requirements. Awesome product range, great coffee and friendly, helpful staff all combine to make this an awesome shopping experience.

They are good, friendly, professional and will serve you good coffee, for free. The only thing to object about are their prices, which are far from competitive, and perhaps about 20% more expensive than anywhere else in the Cape. An example: they charge R250 for a sensor clean, when Sony in Woodstock does it for R0. Ive been looking out there for years, and from gear to service, they are a quick and good fix, but definitely on the expensive side.
