The shop can fill up quickly. There arent dedicated people to man the till points so the only option to actually buy something is to find someone to help when you enter or flag down a staff member who seems determined not to make eye contact. Once you have the attention of a staff member things go much smoother. Its geared for a smaller crowd who has time to shop. If you just need an accessory like a phone case or cable it may be better to avoid.

On September 4th 2021 I went to Istore in Cavendish Square, I walked in with my family and waited 10-15min before any one that workes in the store even looked our way, when someone finally came she said she will get us a sales consultant when the sales consultant (deleted her name as I dont want to name and shame)eventually came she didnt greet and looked at us like we about to waste her time not being able to afford a product in the store, she had a terrible attitude through the entire process, she came up to me asked my documents and walked away, she left my I.D and bank statements unattended on the counter in reach of other customers walking past that could see my confidential information. She was up and down not communicating, she asked me to watch her phone while she runs to the back office she anwerd a personal call while she had to attend to me as a customer, she insistently told my sister to go look at the color of the phone even after we said its OK we dont mind the color. When the sale finally was approved she then smiled and said to my sister that she could see the excitement on her face now because she was holding a breath for a moment, implying that I cannot afford it if that wasnt the intention then I do apologize however we as in my husband and my sister felt offended by sales consultants(again deleted the name as I do not want to name and shame on this platform)attitude since the minute we met her because of her attitude towards us. I didnt say anything through out the process because I didnt want to cause a scene in the store as I work in customer service and I know what customer service is supposed to be and she didnt have it at all it was a disrespect and disregard to us as a family and customer in that store for the first time. Needless to say that we did not have a pleasant experience at all.

Not the first time to wait for a staff to help me. A couple months ago after waiting few minutes this girl came to help in a rush, no chance for me to even ask about the product she rushed me to the till. TODAY, completely ignored. Short of staff, worse is the staff that happened to walk and I asked for help, with no words, she pointed that she was busy with someone and looked annoyed by me. Couldnt she say something more professional? The only one that made eye contact only the man that man the entrance. Never go back here again although its the closest from home. Water Front branch has 100% better customer service.

Apple is such a great product but the customer service is extremely poor for such a great product. Only istore I will recommend is Waterfront and Canal Walk. Cavendish will never see me again.I visited the store 2 times and I was given all the info required for an upgrade, this was different versus the online chat. When I returned the third time after taking time off work, there was no one who could do a MTN upgrade. No alternative option or assistance offered. Not even consultation with the manager to try work something out. Went to Canal walk and received 5 star service. Also went with Telkom due to the knowledge from the salesman explaining all the different options.

Highly disappointed. Why indicate that returns can be done if you aren’t planning to honor that? If there are exceptions to your return policy, that should be indicated so that the customer is aware of what they are getting themselves into. What’s more weird is that when I returned the same product to the V&A istore, they did do a refund, less the 20% as per the returns policy. So what’s so special about the cavendish istore that they can’t take back the products they themselves sold, but somehow the same products are good enough to be accepted back in other Istores?

Bought my MacBook Pro 2018 in Australia and like a year later the camera breaks, they charge my 15k (more than half the price of the computer), and then they replace the whole screen of my pc. And gets even better, I wanted my old monitor back, and they said I needed to pay an extra 5k to have the old one back.... So just FYI keep in mind that all apple products are not designed to be consumer friendly when it comes to repair.

Very disappointing to see how both istores in CT have over 10 floor staff members selling products and only two technicians per shop. I went to both shops and both times the staff members were very unhelpful. When you buy istore products and pay out of you a** for them - you expect a certain level of service. High disappointed and would NOT recommend waisting your time there. Rather go to Digicape, they service is amazing, cost effective and very helpful. Shame on you istore!! Just want to make money and not actually fix issues with your products. Start paying more attention to the customers who have bought from you than people who already know what they want and will buy your product no matter what.

Went to V&A Apple and when the product was unavailable their store called the manager to reserve a macbook at Cavendish. Upon arrival approximately 5 minutes before closing time Cavendish staff refused to help us and trust that we are telling the truth. Staff was unkind and unprofessionalThey were not even willing to make a CASH sale before closing time saying that sales cant be processed after 6.

The service is horrible. I know more about the products than the sales consultants that work here. I was given false information about a discount and instead of them apologising and admitting their mistake, the manager was rude and unhelpful. I ended up buying from Incredible Connection- their service was superb AND they offer better warranty for products at the SAME PRICE. I will not be purchasing from this store anymore.

IStore in Cavendish Centre, Cape Town are not following own Covid-19 rules - no more than 15 customers in store at any given time. On Sunday, 2020/11/08 - we arrived @ the Apple iStore - counted and found 20 customers in store - so we waited outside for our turn to enter.While waiting other customers arrived and the iStore employee just ignored us - waiting sensibly as per the store notice - and sprayed the customers hands and let them in.We kept standing outside - just to be ignored for a second time when more customers arrived - now making the total amount of people in store even more.Thank you iStore - but no thank you - I came to procure the latest top of the range iPhone & Apple Mac Book - now reconsidering if I should spend my money at a company that clearly don’t follow their own rules and don’t care about my safety. Shame on you!

Do not recommend this storefrom poor customer service to poor quality products!I have bought several MacBooks from this store, all different years and all with issues!The customer service has an attitude of sigh another customer we need to help and could not be remotely interested in resolving or assisting.They definitely feel waaaay more important.The call centre also misleads its clients by providing false info and making claims that the product can be fixed in store.Paying 50k for a laptop with 0 customer support or service is not the way I would do business.

I was asking about a Macbook repair and they said I needed my ID and proof of residence. They said I had to drive to a store and couldnt speak with anyone on the phone. They are useless and just reading from some script in front of them.

Clean shop with many staff ready to help. They are friendly and do their best to help. If they cannot help you they will refer you to someone who can. The store has an open layout which helps when the store gets a bit busier.

I’m sure Apple would be embarrassed by the poor customer experience that istore offers in South Africa. Impossible to speak to customer service and when you do they can’t answer basic questions. I bought an iPhone online and asked to pick it up at Cavendish which is my nearest store as the site said they had stock. Paid immediately, received invoice and then told to wait for store to confirm I can pick up. Three days and four attempts to get a response via email and chat (none so far), I am finally informed after waiting 20 minutes on a call, that the store is probably waiting for stock but the call centre agent can’t tell me definitively because they have to email their manager who when they respond (good luck) will share what is going on. I’m sure Apple would not be happy if they knew how poor the human and technology systems were that this “authorized reseller” was using. In other parts of the world Apple generally attempts to avoid phone calls by having great systems that can give you up to date information on your order. iStore should invest in some carrier pigeons so that they can provide customers with more timely information on orders. This is 1970’s post office service levels. My suggestion is to go into the store and try to avoid any trust in the istore customer systems. The joke is that even in store the managers and staff on the floor will joke that the POS system takes about seven minutes to process a single transaction.

Incredibly slow service. Unable to contact manager by phone.Have bought 4 iPhones there in past 6 months, actually quicker to drive to iStore Somerset West than get service at Cavendish branch.Latest saga new iPhone 11 with cracked camera lens cover 6 months old .... told sorry cannot be repaired - camera and phone work fine. To my knowledge Apple takes them back and trades in. Back is an integrated cover not covered by iCare. Buy a new one I was told or try the AppleDoctor a competing franchise. This Apple store seems to be rotten to the core.

Incorrect advice, poor service on return.A colleague needed a new charger for his MacBook Pro this morning. I drove over to the Cavendish store taking the model number and voltage details with me (photo). On return to the office I find its the incorrect connector and the incorrect charger. So I took another hour, paid another parking fee, had my colleague not work for another hour while I came to the store again, waited in the queue again, and got the correct one. We dont hold cash here, so how was I to be refunded the overcharge for the incorrect one? Well the manager was called, (brusque would not be unfair) and some cash was mysteriously found. (Mmm, now I must engage our accountants to reconfigure the purchase on our end into petty cash...) Then it was, Do you have R1? . Nope, afraid not. You must be joking?Im so sorry, our system is incorrect was the sum of the make good.This was a seriously annoying experience.- no attempt by the manager to engage at all- incorrect system (or incorrect training?) that allows wrong adapter to be given out- inability to refund the purchase without resorting to cash- fibbing about having no cash- asking for R1 change after the impact of the mistake was probably larger than the cost of the adapter itself- yes, a verbal apology, but no listening, or attempt to make goodYou can do better Apple South Africa.

You have support staff that are clearly not trained to handle problems remotely....the request to bring a device into the store to attend to a minor technical query on I-cloud is not as simple as it may seem in this crazy time. Booked an appointment. Dropped phone off before work for an assessment and battery replacement. Person who took phone failed to take proper details. Then got peppered with calls and queries at work. But still had to come back after work and then wait an hour as nothing had actually been done... Which negated the entire point of dropping it off in the morning before work (a considerable detour) and then landed me in smack bang rush hour traffic.Also... iPhones repairs are just stupidly overpriced. Id definitely take it to a knock off store for repairs in future.

Shocking service for so called premier brand. Avoid this iStore at all costs. Avoid Phillip - he has manager next to his name - I have no idea why? My husband wanted to spoil me for Christmas with a new Mac - BUT he is not at all technical and ended up buying me a VERY expensive desk top instead of a laptop. Phillip only wanted to prove to me that the almost R 50 000 computer was a custom order, confirmed by my husband and that a 50% deposit was paid - there was NO recourse - It was my problem! Try and speak to someone on it the organisation - GOOD LUCK- eventually I got to speak to Linda.. more human and she did come back to me when she said she would. BUT why do I feel that they have taken me to the cleaners by charging a 15% handling fee ( what is that meant to mean- ) when I wanted to change my order from the desk top to the laptop. Clearly management is NOT management and they are all order takers, and have no understanding of customer service, future loyalty etc! I will NEVER set foot in that store again. Shame that Apple really have sloppy care of the consumers! They lost my sale of a laptop- but who cares... DIGICAPE here I come!

As soon as I get my iPhone fixed, I am selling it and never returning to any apple product again. The product and service that comes with it has become appalling. I walk into the apple store to get assistance. They tell me that I need to book an appointment. I ask to book an appointment. They tell me I need to go home and book it online which is the worst service in the first place. I go home to book my appointment only to find out that the website doesn’t actually allow me to book an appointment for reasons I cannot even explain. Worst service for such an ‘elite’ product. Appalling Service - this store is an insult to the otherwise excellent Apple brand. I took in my FULLY functioning iphone 6 to have its battery replaced. It was returned to me from their workshop 4 days later completely broken and unusable. They used every excuse - water damage, shoddy parts from iFix, out of warranty, etc - to wriggle out of any blame BUT none of these excuses escape the fact that this phone was working well before being handed over to this Apple store and it came back TOTALLY unusable. And from the store manager......no apologies, no credit voucher, no replacement. I will never shop in this store again when there are plenty of honest alternatives that offer decent service.

My daughter visited the Cavendish store this week and was told she had to leave her Macbook for one of the technical staff to look at her computer. She left her external hard drive to back-up all her information before returning two and a half hours later with no success. Today she returned only to find they wiped her computer with all her varsity notes, pics etc without any call to say that this is the only option. Folks, think twice before using this store. I do not recommend this store based upon their service standards at all. Instead of Apple I think they need a bunch of bananas. Unhappy, Irate and NEVER returning to this store.

Said I would be back on Monday to buy an iPhone - she confirmed that they had what I wanted in stock. Today I was told by Cole that the price went up by appr. R700 - and if I had been at the store an hour ago I would have paid the old price? He said he would speak to the manager, but came back with the same bad customer response and attitude. I wanted to buy an iPad Pro from the Cavendish store because it is closer to home than the other stores. I decided on this particular model after being assisted by a top notch sales person at the V&A Waterfront store who not only knows all the Apple products exceptionally well, but who said he would assist me in downloading my data from iCloud.The Claremont store salesman was not only disinterested in a potential sale, but was not interested in assisting me, once I purchased the product, to download my data. He said I had to make an appointment with “services “ to do so, which could be in 5 days time.... when I’m in Europe! He was inflexible.I told him he’s just lost a sale .... and walked out. I’ll visit V&A Waterfront tomorrow and hope to have a more passionate and service driven salesman that I met the last time I visited.Cavendish store is disinterested and inflexible!

Where is the minus 5-star option? I made a big mistake going in to this store. One does not expect a sales rep to creep in by you but incompetent, bad attitude and a lack of diversity are understatements. As a previous review stated, the staff are destroying the Apple brand’s reputation. I come to South Africa once a year, and in my previous visits the staff were always very disinterested (different staff members each time). I completely forgot about this and decided to buy a good lightning cable here today. It also slipped my mind that many, many people advised me not to go here due to this. Try going to an Apple store in my country, the UAE, with the friendliest people in the world, and you get treated not like a king, not like a tress-passer but like normal (not that iStore cares about this part). But, there’s a lot of catching up to do basically. Also, Apple is no ‘big deal’ in other countries. At first, no one helped after waiting for 12 minutes. When I got ‘helped’ I dealt with the rudest woman one could possibly imagine. This woman is unwilling (understatement) to give advice about the most durable cable options, is unwilling to answer your simple questions, doesn’t know what they stock (doesn’t know the brand name of the cable the lovely gentleman advised me about the previous day - ‘armour’d’ cable as he calls it, which he opened up for me to show me..but she had major issues opening it to show me when I wanted to see if it’s the same cable from the day before) and automatically could not assist me with whether Canal Walk had stock. She eventually opened it, and I found that this cable is probably the best but far bulkier than the one showed to me the day before. The sales dept. on the phone could not assist me either with whether there is stock when I called before going in. In the store, in a friendly manner I explained that I’m being careful as to picking a proper cable because I’ve been through 4 genuine Apple cables (with a smile and a laugh). Being absolutely friendly will do you no good. Discussing technical aspects of durability and lengths of cables and travelling often with the cable for instance, will do you no good. I advise everyone to stick to forums like MacWorld to get the information you need about products. Then, go order from TakeAlot and rather wait for shipping. I went next door to Incredible Connection to buy another cable in addition to the Anker cable I bought at this iStore and what a friendly set of staff they have. This is one of those things where nothing will be done about the reviews/bad consumer experience because they simply don’t care - so the staff will carry on. Signature attitude to the client: we are in no mood all the time and we do not care if the client is not happy with our service, we don’t care - a cable is just a cable (be it copper or whatever), stop fussing, a Lifeproof cover is just a cover like any other cover, a gell case is just a case, stop wasting our time with your petty 2-second simple questions, I don’t want to be here & we probably will get ‘other/more’ customers anyway. I will write the lady’s name and update my review.

My wife bought an i phone 7plus at the waterfront store with great service. She was told she could trade in her phone at the cavendish branch - first they didnt want to help then told us to wait so we waited half an hour. The technician told us to wait one minute then in a few minutes he attended to us and said we could have an appointment in one and a half hours. There were no other people waiting. Eventually after unnecessary complaining they helped us it took 10 minutes but without any customer Appretiation. The manager was involved and only pointed out how the waterfront store operates to the extent we had to ask her why she does not like her co workers there - avoid this cavendish store at all cost!
