This place is a hidden gem... The atmosphere is warm and comforting, the food is to die for and really well priced. Its a brewery so the beer is on point.The service by the waiters is remarkable and they are super nice and quick!Definitely a place worth visiting!

The atmosphere at jack black is absolutely awesome and welcoming.Staff make you feel at home and service is good.But the best of all besides the beers and wine was definitely their food.Fresh and just a pleasant enjoyable experience for your tummy. Awesome flavor and taste.I would definitely recommend this place especially going as a group.

After waiting for too long, we finally visited our favorite place. The Entertainment Manager needs to get a repertoire of the entertainer as this young lady had too many melancholic tunes. The food was not as enjoyable as pre-lockdown, something I looked forward to. On the plus side, the Lumberjack Ale, was as good, hearty and enjoyable as ever. Your tried and tested recipe didnt fail. Please Wayne, Manager, take heed. Thanks for the time, I know your next offering will be better.

Jack Black is such a treat! Im not a massive beer fan but my boyfriend says its the best beer in the world...and hes tasted a lot of beer! We had dinner and drinks there tonight. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I always feel very safe and secure there as there is a good security presence. Jack Black is a local favourite and we are so happy they are able to be up and running again. See you again soon!

Good food and decent prices but honestly we basically got escorted out at 5pm when the website says they close at 6. They also did not have any pretzels so they told us we would get an extra taster because it came with the tasters, not an issue at all. Thet then came back and said sorry management said we have to charge for the extra taster, why tell us we getting free it in the first place. Place has so much potential

Tasty food, but the service could do with some attention.For some reason we didnt get a waiter assigned to our table, so we ended up sending the food order and drink orders with all different staff members, anyone whos attention we could get, including the runners and bar staff during the evening.However one shouldnt have to sit and wait for ages because no waiter is assigned to your table. I ordered a chicken burger with cheese and bacon, and when the burger arrived the cheese and bacon was on my friends beef burger instead of mine.When I asked for the bill there was a bit of confusion, first a bill for 2 beers only, I said that was a mistake, we then had someone come over to ask exactly what wed had.Id come back, but only if the service improves, please assign a waiter to a table, otherwise it just ends up a mess.I phoned Jannicke and booked a tableagain on Wednesday 10th February 2021 for lunch, and ordered the same meal as last, a chicken burger with cheese and bacon, unfortunately on this occasion the cheese and bacon was missing from the burger again, so the burger had to be sent back to the kitchen.I seem to think that the menu is possibly confusing to the customer or to the waiter as to get the wrong burger twice in a row means there is a miscommunication somewhere along the line. The service was good on this occasion, albeit I ended up with a burger with no cheese and bacon, and the food was very tasty. I did speak to Jannicke afterwards to point out the possible confusion on the menu.Please please please, can I just get a burger with cheese and bacon! 3rd time lucky im hoping?

What a fantastic place the staff are extremely good at there jobs. The food was delicious, we had their chicken burger with a side of large chips and onion rings with jalapeño poppers . The prices are affordable and not over priced . The most amazing part of our dinner was the ambience was so relaxing and the back round music was not so soft you couldnt hear it but not so loud you couldnt have a conversation over all we had a real awesome evening and will be having many more nights out to their fantastic restaurants. Well done to your team you deserve this 5* review.

We went for a burger and a beer and it was very enjoyable. Good music in the back ground (Prime Circle , CCR, etc.) and the tables were well space apart with COVID and all. The food was very tasty and so was the beers. We had the flight / tasting and after that everyone had their favorite. To top it off you can get a 2L (ok its 1.89L only) Growler refillable straight from the tap at a silly price - the down side is you must finish it in 48hrs

Proper ale on tap, proper food on the table 11/10 took the family and chowed-down on burgers, soft tacos and fries surrounded by the stainless steel hum of new beer being crafted

What a fantastic little hidden gem in the southern suburbs of Cape Town with no cover charge. I cant believe I only found out about the space now nevertheless what a great space. The beer is good and the food looks amazing (I need to come back for the burgers) the atmosphere is awesome especially with the live band. There is parking close by but it is somewhat limited and there is security.

Went on Wednesday evening which is half price on burgers. Excellent value for money. My friend had the fries, which are extra and honestly not worth the money. Opted for a beer instead which was really good. Will definitely go back, service was quick and atmosphere is really enjoyable.

First time there, brilliant staff! Did a bit of beer tasting with local mates and the beer was tasty and surprisingly more than enough for a taste. The place has good vibes and open. Impressed with the initiative theyve put together which allows you to donate shoes in exchange for a beer😀. Great place! Recommended!

Went for Beer tasting tray and had chilli poppers as snack. My friend had a chicken burger. There was music provided but as they had a private function organised and were closing at 2, it was not well-supported. In fact it lacked a vibe.

So tasty and well-priced :) Ive never had beer-infused food and I loved it and I dont even drink! And the indoor area is super open and spacious which makes it a great place to go during the pandemic

Unbelievable service from the Jack Black team. I ordered a case of beer and it was delivered to my house in less than 2 hours. Never in all my years shopping online has anything been delivered in that time frame.As for the beer itself - the Atlantic Weiss is absolutely brilliant, perfect for a hot summers day with a braai. Would recommend it to anyone and will be buying more!

Tucked away in a semi industrial area lies the Jack Black Brewing Company. Open from 10am to 10pm, its a spacious venue with a large outside area. If youre new to craft beer, they offer a test selection comprising of 4 beers of your choice. Prices are very reasonable and the 2 for 1 burger evenings every second Wednesday are fantastic.

Went with a few friends on the Burger 2-4-1 Wednesdays, beers were great and food was delicious too but we were first served someone elses order which was then whisked away after 1 min on the table then ours took an age to arrive with then less than the amount of bacon inside than the first burgers we received...guessed the kitchen had run out 😬Service was pretty slow so if you are after a quick dinner then I would suggest going on a different day, otherwise, food, drink, prices were great.

Burgers are one of the best Ive ever tasted and worth it. Service are fabulous & atmosphere is great.

Great outdoor pub vibe. Food, service, music, venue are all great. You have to book. Youll feel like youre lost but follow the Google pin, itll take you to the front gate. Secured venue with controlled access. Good carguards ( bring money to pay the guard. I pay R20 min because it tends to be a long night) but the beer is also great so rather take an Uber. This is not a kid friendly venue.

This is an amazing local brewery. They have been around since 2007 and have been at this location for a few years. There was a younger crowd as well as older couples. The food was incredible and the beer even more so. The brewery tour was very informative and the tour guide had a great knowledge of the brewing process as well as the history of the company. Well done Jack Black Brewing Company. You have made a life long fan out of me and my family!

My favorite craft beer in Cape Town. Rad brewery with an awesome restaurant. Really great food and fresh beer. Tours are available too as well as a merchandise store at the brewery.

Love Jack Black Brewery its a perfect spot for after work drinks or even a family supper. Situated in the heart of the southern suburbs in Diep River industrial area. When you enter the venue you can feel the beer love. The staff are amazing. The beers are always perfectly cold the food is also on point. The German beer hall look with a working Brewery creates the perfect social atmosphere. Friday nights they have live music and it feels like a mini festival. Jack blacks beers are probably the best in the Cape town

This Brewery company has great fresh beer mostly if not all craft beer which I personally rate is better than most commercial beer. If you want a place with a good vibe and food. The menu is simple and covers majority of the cravings people acquire. I will easily recommend this for any beer enthusiast.

Every meal Ive had has been great. Such a nice vibe. Love that theres something always happening there: pub quiz, food truck Friday, Saturday brunch, jazz nights, movie nights and on it goes. Best part is that you cant stumble across it so the people there are there on purpose

Absolutely love the food and vibe at this place and the chilled lager is to die for! A brewery in the city is always a good idea.The burgers are delicious, the butcher block and pulled pork being our most favourite.Recently tried the mushroom arancini and I am so craving for it right now that I cant wait to go back and have a full portion just by myself. 😉😉😉Hadnt expected the food to be so good at a brewery when we first tried it but I must say kudos to the Chef for maintaining the food quality and for checking on the guests personally to make sure they are enjoying the food.Highly recommended!!

Went for food truck Friday event. Food from the vendors was really amazing, accompanied by some great tasting beer and ciders, with quite a selection. A little disappointed there was no spirits. Toilets were decent. Atmosphere cool with a live band, think they did some covers as well. It was packed so seating was a little limited and people attending were friendly and kind. Would definitely go again on food truck Friday or another on of their many events.

We did a food truck night which was great. The burgers were awesome and the service very quick. As for the beer, too many to try in a night. Prices were reasonable and some beers cheaper than expected. Definitely a must do if you like live bands and beer.

Its my local! Sorta. For post work drinks its the best! Great brewery with a mouth watering menu. Das Wunderkind is my personal favourite.Most days of the week they have entertainment or food specials. Occasionally they get other small breweries to distribute their wares on site.Quiz nights are awesome!

Great service in booking and confirming a reservation and interesting venue albeit deep in the heart of an industrial area. However the service was poor - even though it was a Friday night - it was not as busy as other venues Ive been to. I never thought Id go thirsty in a brewery when the vats were only a few meters away! Then came the music - which was simply too loud - no point in going to a venue if it is so difficult to hear each other over a meal. I was happy that there was live music however with the first two artists needing to invest more time in their off-key singing, the poor acoustics and unreasonable volume it would have been far more pleasurable without it.

Make no mistake: Jack Black make great beer. But as for eating there Ive now had 3 unpleasant experiences, and thats more than enough. Today I popped in for a quick meal at 12:30. Only 2 tables occupied, yet I was told to move as all decent tables were booked. 45 mins later these booked tables are still unoccupied. Then the frankfurter... I was told it was spicy. If you count tons of fat and salt spicy then you may survive or even enjoy this heart-attack inducer! In my 70 years that ranks as the fattiest, saltiest sausage ever! On the up side the chef did come and discuss my issues with me and was most helpful and kind.

My favourite local beer so I may be slightly biased...The venue and space are relaxed and easy going, a great place to relax with friends over great beer and delicious food.Worth a visit on their musical evenings, but be sure to book as they get very busy.

Great to see how some of the early brewers have adapted and grown their brand so well. Love the beers and the meals we had were delicious. A little area for kids to play in wouldn’t go amiss. Watch out for their specials on their Facebook page.

Really great vibe! The food portions are massive and the staff are so friendly and they know a lot about the beer. And obviously, the place has really great beer! Definitely recommend for a nice lunch or evening dinner and drinks with friends or family.
