The picture in the black is what my eyebrows usually look like and what I wanted. The other picture is what I walked out looking like. This is beyong terrible and I have never been more upset. I was literally sobbing for hours after my visit. I only asked for one thing DO NOT MAKE MY EYEBROWS TOO THIN. I didnt realize this would be so difficult to understand. I have 2 interviews tomorrow, a casting and a photoshoot later this week. I honestly have no idea how I can even fix this. I feel embarrassed walking around looking like this. I was supposed to get my eyebrows and lashes tinted as well but after seeing the GROSS INCOMPETENCE of the aesthetician, I paid and stormed off. Thinking back, I shouldnt even have paid. This is ridiculous and I would feel embarrassed serving a client this way. I will never return to this salon ever again.

Never use this place, burnt my hair, dyed wrong colour, added her own choice of colour they tried to fix and made it worse. took two days of my time. staff were ridiculous and lied to cover the issue, rude hairdresser, she was angry that I was a voucher client and not a full price client

I had the most amazing blow dry, one of the best I’ve ever had from Deon. He was lovely and attentive and got my long curly hair perfectly straight without a hair straightener! Well priced too, I will certainly book him again

Had an amazing experience with my four friends getting pedicures and back massages. The staff was super professional and friendly and cathetered our every need. If you are looking for a spa to have a special girls day, I would highly recommend Yemaya Spa !

I was gifted a 90 minute luxury spa treatment at Yemaya. I opted for the full body massage. What a sublimely relaxing experience. Patricia was my therapist and had her work cut out for her with the knots in my shoulders. Do yourself a favour and make use of the showers (bath towel provided) afterwards to end off the treatment.

We went as a group of 6 to celebrate a birthday and was looked after very well by friendly staff. We each had 3 services, all very competently delivered, leaving us all pampered, relaxed and happy. We also used the spa facilities and enjoyed a fun sauna together. Thank you to the staff who made our day a memorable one!

What an absolute spoil to take my mom here for a Bellabaci massage and facial. Excellent therapists, beautiful surroundings and left 100% relaxed!

I booked for a acrylic fill on my ombre acrylic nails. On arrival I asked if the lady could do any type of nail art on one nail on each hand. She looked a bit shocked and said she can not do nail art. I settled for a different colour picked out of a very poor variety of which majority was shades of red. Each nail has a distinct line where the fill was done. One nail is a yellow shade. When you have ombre on your nails a technician should know very well how to replicate the technique. If she is not able to do it, the client should be informed.If I knew beforehand I would definitely NOT wasted R440 on a fill!!!!This is more than what the acrylic sculpture set was that I had done prior to my fill.This is totally unacceptable and I would not recommend anyone to your salon. Its really shocking and I am sitting with nails that look like it was done by a unqualified technician....I would like to know what steps you will do to correct this mess Im stuck with? I now have to have all my nails redone again after I paid for a service that is way below acceptable.Email received and responded to on 24/03. 2 days later and it still not resolved.Email 26/03: Still no reply on my complaint?  This is truly unacceptable.  It seems that a complaint is not a priority.I really am shocked.  In this day and age its very important to grow your client base and as a new client as well as being new in the area, this has left a truly disappointing taste in my mouth.

I came in for a soak-off and gel manicure. While the work was good, the service was shocking. Upon arrival, the receptionist was lying on the couch on her cellphone as if she were in her living room. After waiting a few minutes, someone came out of the employee break area to assist me. During my treatment, employees behaved extremely unprofessionally by having loud arguments and conversations in the presence of clients. What an unfriendly bunch of ladies! I felt very uncomfortable. I definitely won’t waste my time and money here again.

I had the most amazing experience at the Yemaya Spa. In addition to be being a reasonably priced alternative to other salons in the area I found their customer service to be among the top that I experienced while visiting Cape Town. I had a Hollywood and underarm wax service by the “wax whisperer” herself, Lana.Lana has to be the most knowledgeable wax specialist I’ve encountered and I don’t remember the last time I laughed (like for-real laughed) during a wax. The service was very well done; I almost wish I could take her home with me. You should definitely check her out!

I booked for 5, got stuck in traffic, messaged that I would be 15 mins late. I was then told because I was late with 40 mins left I could only have a quickly dry cut. Please change your hours on Google as hair dressers are done at 6 not at 7. Real disappointing customer experience.

Unprofessional over the phone, disorganized and forgot to book my appointment, brow threader Monique cut a chunk of my brow arch out at the top after I specifically said to avoid the area, and Elshe did my brows with her hands reeking of cigarettes once. Unprofessional and gross establishment, I kept trying to give it a chance but honestly never again. I now see why it’s often empty.

Came in to touch up regrowth. Walked out orange and was told they did not see anything wrong with the color. This alone was scary.Went back to try get fixed but honestly made very little difference. Spoke to the owner who just said the original stylist has had many compliments, as though the sentiment was supposed to magically fix my hair. I found her generally lacking in good customer service. I will never go back and do not recommend them to anyone. Try eccentric across the way. Much better value for money.

Had my eyebrows threaded and what should have been a simple mini manicure. I have returned home in unusual pain to find cuts on and in my brows and I also have a large cut across one of my cuticles from the very rough manicure I was given. My nails are poorly shaped and painted. The staff member providing my service hardly spoke to me, not even to apologize for the bleeding cut on my cuticle. I was not even offered a mirror to see my brows or check if I was happy with them following the service. Would recommend avoiding this place entirely.

This is the worst spa in Cape Town. I had a very disappointing experience, and its very sad cos its located in one of my favorite hotels.Starting at the reception, the guy at reception does not fit the profile for an upper end hotel spa, wearing a heavily branded t-shirt (think it was an American flag on front), not suitable at all. Then when I walked through the door, he was on the phone and I had to wait till he was ready to converse with me. Then went to changing rooms, the gown I was given had no belt, so I had to go get one. Then going to the steam room, which wasnt working and they converted their rasoul room to the steam room, I knocked my head cos the doorway entry is quite low, with no signage warning people. Thereafter we were taken through for our treatments, the room lacks any character, the masseuse have no personality. We were there for a couples massage, the one masseuse walled us into the room, we then got changed and laid waiting, my masseuse then came in, I got no intro at all, wasnt asked about my preferred pressure. Then back to the changing rooms, after showering, no fresh towels in the changing rooms, no place to sit while drying yourself. The soaps are bought at clicks and lacks left on it, the robes and other items bought at Mr Price Home, labels left on it. Overall, pathetic experience, will never return and dont recommend to anyone. They have loads to do to improve to get on par with any decent spa.

I am so please with the way my hair was done. I had lowlights, and the lady who did them did an amazing job. Im sorry I dont remember her name but she works next to Melissa. So very happy and will definitely be going back. This is in fact my 4th appointment, but my first with this particular lady and each time Ive been really happy

Do not go to this place! I tried and tried time and again to give them a chance, but the quality of service and the skill of the ladies are just not there. Also the tables are often dirty and generally place is not well kept.

I attempted to book online, but after 4 days of no communcation I phoned to make a booking for my daughter. I requested a cut and blow and threading of her brows and lip. The hairdresser spent around 5 minutes cutting her hair and threading was only done for her brows. She walked out of there R 550 later with wet hair, barely cut hair. She needed a treat and was very dissapointed. We specifically chose Yemaya as they are open Sundays and that is the only time that suited my daughter l. I will not recommend them at all. Terrible service.

Not happy what so ever... Very unprofessional...I had bleaching and Extensions the stylus had to go and left me behind and told me she will be back in 2 hours still didn’t show up my hair it’s orange and my Extensions not properly done.....I asked to see the boss they can’t get hold of her....

Like other reviewers I am extremely disappointed with my hair cut. Its a cop out to use clippers on a simple but important ladys short hair cut. I am now finding places where there are long bits where there should be short bits at the back of my head. For 300 rand i would expect more than 15 minutes of care and attention to my head and the hairdresser making it clear i was her last cut of the day and she wanted to go home. I would have got better from a mans barber. I would not recommend. I doubt they care though given the attitude.

Came back from overseas the end of March this year. It was a Sunday. Landed at 11h30 and called Yemaya to make a hair appointment as soon as possible. Walked into the salon at 14h00 and was home by 15h00.The lady who did my hair did a really good job. Well done Yemaya!!

Went to Yemaya a few years back and I can honestly say it was the best salon experience I have ever had... had my hair done and felt like a beauty queen when I walked out. The ONLY reason I havent been back is because I live in the northern suburbs and it was a little to far to travel. All round fantastic experience!!!

I made a hair appointment this morning and was sent a confirmation: When I arrived, the stylist, Deon refused to do my hair because i was a client of Melissa. If there is a staff problem, it should be sorted out between the parties and/or management. Clients should not bare the brunt of disgruntled staff on duty.This unprofessional behavior is not acceptable. Although I have been a regular client of the salon for more than 5 years, I wont be rushing back!

Im extremely upset with the way that my hair turned out. I showed the lady a picture of a woman with a darkish shade of purple in her hair and she said that she could do it. Instead she put the purple dye over my old dye and it could not be seen unless in the sun. Now, 1 month later my hair is a mixture of brown, red and a magenta shade (horrible!), not even purple. I am so disappointed in the service I received and the way my hair looks now that I will have to pay another hair dresser to fix it. I will definitely not be going back.

Worst Salon experience and customer service ever...Went there to have my hair dyed from brown to dark brown. Somehow they put peroxide on my hair then it was burnt orange! I literally just wanted to go one shade darker than my natural brown. The stylist added toner to my hair which then resulted in it being pitch black with brown patches at the back.I initially wanted a MK treatment, which was now a necessity after double-dyeing my hair back to back. The cost for the botched job was R3000! Which btw my hair is a bobTheir response after the complaint:Our stylist has 20years experience, anyways let us know if you want to come back to fix it. Had the most ridiculous experience! I litterally had my ends trimmed, I did not even get my hair washed or blown out. It took 5min exactly and was charged R310.00!!! I have been a customer for almost a year now and have had a few bad experiences with them, but Im not someone to complain easily. This just takes the cake. I feel super ripped off.

Who ever has given this place higher than a 1 star obviously has no idea what a real spa/salon is. I had a manicure appointment and it was one of the worse Ive ever gotten. The whole place was dirty but when I sat down at the table for the girl to do my nails, the towel was dirty with stains and it was wet in certain areas which means that it was used for the person that was just before me. Also its a glass table and you could see oil stains on it from the person that was sitting there before me. The nail technician was very unprofessional in all the senses! She rushed on doing my nails as if she had somewhere to go and I paid for a full manicure which normally takes around 1 hr and she did it in 35 minutes. The massage she gave me was about 2 minutes on both hands and she didnt clean my nails properly, let alone to actually ask me before filing my nails what shape I wanted. She just decided on her own. Also she was complaining about my previous color on my nails which was dark red that it was hard for her to remove. If you want clean, good and relaxing service, this place in NOT it!

Please go elsewhere! I went once for an hair style and they asked for one amount. The week after I returned for exactly the same style and they asked for 100 rand more. I sweared to myself I would have never come back again. Recently I went back for a pedi and it has been a poor experience. All was dusty from previous client. There are so many spa in Cape Town and people passionate about their job that I would go elsewhere. Really.

Very disappointing! We were 3 friends, booked a full hour pedi. But the ladies doing the treatments rushed through it! My one friends pedi was done within half n hour! And my other friend told the therapist her foot soak water was cold, and asked for more warm water. That was an effort for the therapist. And we were left at the pedi station, they did not come to remove the tissues between our toes or even check to tell us our polish was dry. When we complained to the lady taking our cash, we told her what had happened. She went to speak to the manager, who gave my friend R30 off her pedi. It was not about getting a discount, it should have been about the fact that we booked for a full hour pedi and did not get it!

I love this spa, very accommodating for last minutes, great value, Highly recommend.

I confirmed my booking online, but when I went on the day of my appointment they took me to the hair wash station and after a few minutes one of the receptionists ran over to me barefoot and told me that they did not have my booking on the system. The service was unprofessional and disorganised

Very unprofessional!! I booked an appointment online a day before I wanted to come for a wax. I did not hear anything from the staff at Yemaya so I called 30 mins before the appointment time, nobody knew anything about the appointment (this is the second time this has happened in a few months) so I made an appointment telephonically for 08H30 the next day (I cant come any later than that because I have to get to work) When I arrived for the appointment my appointment had been moved to 09H00. (this is also not the first time this has happened)I am usually happy with my waxes at Yemaya but have been several times for acrylic nails and gel toes and have not been happy with the results.I will not be back, nor will I recommend Yemaya to my Airbnb guests in the future.

I would NOT by any means recommend this place for laser. I spent north of R13,000 in 18 months on it and I have had to go to waxing. It works well while the treatments are going on and as soon as it’s over, it’s like you never even went. I’m very VERY disappointed in this place and again, would not recommend it at all.

Worst beauty salon everI booked an appointment for a paraffin gelish mani and pedi. I got there 15 mins late. I asked the receptionist how long it would take and she replied an hour. I said that was amazing and she explain that 2 therapists would work together.I was shown to a seat. Pamela my pedicurist smiled introduced herself to me and got started. Five mins later Sade the manicurist came and in a rather brash way commenced with my manicure. I tried to start a conversation but it was not forthcoming.Sade proceeded to chat to the other therapist about going home to cook.After 45 mins Sade got up and went to speak to the assistant manager.The mangeress(receptionist)then came to me and said that I should have ordinary nail polish put on. I said that I booked for a gelish paraffin mani and pedi. She got up and left.I asked for her and explained that she run a very unprofessional business and that i would leave as the therapists had only removed my old gelish and buffed my nails.i asked her why didnt she tell me that I was late and they couldnt do my nails.She said that she does not need my attitude and proceed to quote the full price of the mani pedi for me to pay, which was R320 and R310. I said that I wouldnt as only the above had been done. She could not understand so I had to write down the prices advertised on the website. She eventually said that I should pay R150.I asked her for the owners number and email address. She said that she did not have the number but gave me the email address. I emailed the owner immediately but dont have an answer 6 hours later.Beauty salons are there to help people de-stress relax and have great time.At Yemaya that does not happen.Spend your money at the place where people are friendly and offer you a glass of water. This incident spoilt the first day of my holiday and wasted my time.

Apparently they dont want to make appointments on the phone. Cant even let them know were late. Although theyre a national chain and located in Seapoint, they seem to not have the budget, or theyre too cheap for simple call waiting. This is the kind of mentality that keeps SA in the 3rd world. Shame on them for being so wilfully retarded.

I waited 20 minutes for therapist despite having an appointment. They never offered me tea or coffee. Pedicure was the worst! I was the only black customer in the store. They gave me the black treatment and were unapologetic about it. Disgusting.

Your staff at greenstone branch are most unreasonable trying to return hair extensions from suppliers long passed return timeframes, not able to sell them to client now blaming the suppliers. not professional at all, never bother to read term of sale.

I had to ask her to clean them before she cut my cuticles.4- she forgot to file one hand and I notified her.After she filed my nails they were hideous. My 5 year old cousin could have done a better job.I PICKED UP THE NAIL FILE AND BEGAN TO FILE MY OWN NAILS. This is when I got up and actually left.5- this is NO SPA. I wasnt even offered a glass of water.6- the salon is so so SO filthy. The counters, the floor, the towels.This place is a disgrace. The worst experience Ive ever had at a salon, yet alone spa.
