Really quaint place with a big bar inside. They dont deep fry their fish which is a welcome change to what Im used to. If youre lucky you might also meet Jack the bar cat.

Oysters are properly cleaned, fresh & the red onion viaigrette goes well with it.

We decided to go for a meal as it was nearby our accommodation. We had dinner at the pub. The food was superb and the bartender was friendly and efficient. The tavern has a magic atmosphere too. Highly recommended for a place with good food and a nice vibe in Gordons Bay.

We did the Danie Muller hiking trail and walked up to the GB Sign and went for a oyster slider afterwards. What a lekker place to get together after a walk. Even the dog had a bowl of ice cream and water. Lots of parking place. On the harbour.

Went there for a quick beer but was supprized by the cozy setup and welcoming feeling I got that made my stay longer than scheduled. The live band gave it even more life. Super good water hole.

If you like fish & chips, & enjoy a Harbour restaurant/pub setting, make this a place that you put on your must go visit list. Beware, you might end up being a regular visitor if thats something you enjoy 😉

Unbelievably delicious. Expected good food but never expected to taste the best fish of my life. Never had butterfish before and thought “maybe it is buttery”. It was so perfectly buttery and delicious that the wonderful garlic butter lemon sauce they provided on the side was not necessary at all. Truly amazing. And the salads were great also.

Pub vibe restaurant that has live music. We loved the sing-a-long style classic songs. We ordered beer, wine, a starter and a main. Service was really good, drinks menu is very reasonable and food was good value. Overall great evening, wed come here again, especially with the live music.

Really kind and helpful staff, but its a bit difficult to understand the overwhelmingly high ratings. Some of the customer reviews led us to believe that the Thirsty Oyster has some of the best seafood platters ever, but I am under the impression that these customers are not very well travelled or have not reached very far during their cullinary experiences. The food was tasty, but not exceptional. The seafood platters muscles were very bland and lacking in any type of flavour and substance.Somewhat overrated for the price. I assume that the high ratings are fueled by the bar.

Great place. With friendly people and with the naval college just around the corner we viewed the divers on the platform and some in sea. Nice to look at all the old school ships and old naval gear over this place. Had a nice craft beer and service with a smile. The Thirsty Oyster Tavern is a must vissit for anyone out of town.

Amazing as always! We had their line fish, which was Butter fish and it was excellent! Friendly and fast waiter, had great service! We didnt even wait long for our food & they where busy. They can get quite packed as it is a well known restaurant, but it is all wurth it, if you need to wait a little!

The food here is phenomenal! The staff are great and the restaurant is situated with a lovely view. The wooden feel is very cosy and lovely for rainy days and the outdoor seating is good for sunny beach days. Beers are served ice cold, as they should be. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves seafood.

Stopped here for lunch and was positively surprised on the amazing quality of the food. There is. Toning fancy about this place, not is the service anything special, but the food was outstanding!! We had mussels, calamari, a burger and chicken nuggets. All was very good!!

This is an awesome place. It was my first visit there. The staff are friendly, food is great. On the photo is the staff member of the month, Jack. He sits at the bar, around 15h00, waiting for his food. I will definitely return. Also recommend this place to everyone.

This is a real quaint little restaurant. Situated in the heart of the harbour in Gordons bay. Food is great and service super friendly and efficient. Fish is so fresh and delicious. Its very popular especially with tourists. Has a lovely vibe. Watch the local fisherman bringing in the boats laddened with fresh Fish, lobster etc.
