Conveniently located for me, and I know the layout well enough to spend least time possible. Unfortunately no matter how quickly I pop in for a few quick items, you can be guaranteed to waste away half of your life standing in rows. Seems like the ques are always there, whether there are 2 of 200 shoppers. Also always having to dodge the personal and boxes all over the show. Poor service at its best.

3rd time i wanted to buy an product on special and at the till it doesnt register as a special. They forget to remove old prices and you end up paying more. Some items does not even have prices. There was a few times i couldnt even get an coke zero or ice. Floors also dirty. Trolleys of the staff standing in the isles full of product. Lines is always long.To be honest the worst checkers I have been. I think they only get clients because its so close to everyone in protea heights. Its a disgrace.

Queuing time at this particular checkers at extended times all the time regardless at peak times or not, while majority of the tills are unoccupied. Poor management, employee more cashiers! Improve customer service.

Worst service I ever experienced at any checkers. I live close to it but I travel to pick and pay or spar rather as the staff at this branch is the worst. Never have I needed to post a bad review about a checkers. You guys need to do some serious changes.

Rather unhappy went to get a SIM card but staff would not Rica with with a foreign passport. So I asked how do foreigners get sim cards they just handed back the simcard and passport.

Probably my one and ONLY place to buy groceries, for the past year. Shelves always stocked and never empty.Even on month ends its never crowded...

I would rather not say, but all I can say is I would rather drive 2km further to Spar Hasendal, who gives 100 times better service!!

Eveytime I come here during off peak times to quickly get a few things theres so little cashiers open that you literally stand in and que for 20mts or more

There is a bag packer at the till named Christopher who is the friendliest staff member at any place I have ever had the fortune to meet! He greets every client, welcomes them to the till with a smile and thanks you for coming once you leave saying we hopes to see you again soon. And for someone to still have such a friendly welcoming attitude at 5 in the afternoon when its raining, cold and most people just want to get home after a long day of work is amazing, he really makes a difference to your shopping experience! I will definitely stop here more often!

Takes number one spot for worst customer service, especially in the tills. I walk 100m to the shop but would rather drive elsewhere and so does my wife.

Nice and convenient as it is close to home and in Protea Heights, however the shop has gone a lot backwards since the original opening. Queues are generally long and service is on the slow side. We honestly are opting for the Spar in Protea Heights rather. Hopefully management will view the comments and bring it back to where it used to be.

A 15 minute queue for a few items. The tills that were opened, were staffed by people who clearly did not want to be there.

They continuously only have half the tills operating despite the fact that it is rush hour and so many customers have to line up into the aisles.... one has to deal with a working day, traffic, then checkers which is a long experience to be able to pay, kids, cook, household, etc.Its been years that they are doing this, but management blame the staff, citing they dont turn up or having a break.... during rush hour?The staff said another story, they cut back to save on salary costs.

You people must come right! Went to your liquor store to buy a box of Olof that was advertised on special, as we own a pub. Your security guard refused me entry with my trolly that had my toddler in. He expected me to leave my trolly, with groceries and my toddler at the entrance to the shop. Then when i asked him to fetch the box of Olof he flatly refused.Firstly who in their right mind would leave their toddler in a trolly at the entrance to a shop and secondly how the hell am I suppose to carry a box of Olof and a toddler with all my groceries as well????Really, you people need to train your staff better!

Used to be a very good place to shop at with a hands-on manager, good quality fresh produce, and a great variety of products. Unfortunately they frequently dont have stock of many products anymore. Needless to say, I would rather go for a slightly further drive to Checkers Kuilsriver.

Great franchise. Has everything you need. Can sometimes have few tills open which leads to long queues. Safe parking. Has a play area for the youngsters.

Service never with a smile especially at the cold meats counter. When asking for assistance they look at you as if youre asking for world peace! 1 out of 10 times would be a good shopping experience. Normally pop in for a few things, never monthly shopping. That would be way too much work at the tills. So much effort already just to scan my goods!

I can now see why people only spend 20 minutes here.. after trying twice, Ive walked out. The queues!! Too few cashiers, and the floors are so dirty. Whats happening here.. (on the bright side, the shop has a good stock of groceries.)

Staff very unfriendly! Store extremely busy (month end and end of day) and cashiers and till support staff so busy talking to each other to actually help customers. Had Checkers staff bump into me in aisles etc. Customer service definitely lacking!Newly implemented rewards card registration experience in store was a nightmare... But, having said that the shopping experience on the bottom line cost is a pleasure!!! Checkers, if you can sort out the bugs, you may just win me back as a 100% loyal customer!

The Checkers store with the MOST POOR service and unfriendly, unhelpful staff. I travel further to an PnP store or to another Checkers store. So many people in Brackenfell have the same views. This is very very sad. The store is making money but DO NOT have an good review by the public.

The prices on shelve dont match the till price. Or better yet no price on shelves one must smell how much it costs.... Management useless you can tell them a hundred times they to stupid to grasp it. The staff are to busy all doing nothing while chatting to their friends to help you, and if you ask someone for help the answer always is not my department

I dont think Ive ever seen more than 3 checkout counters open at the same time. Standing in a check-out queue with a minimum of 3 staff members around the till chatting, while the reason you are in a queue is due to only 3 checkout counters being open. You see staff members standing and chatting all over the store but the service you get is the equivalent of a store with 5 staff members. Dont even try asking for assistance, Im serious you will regret it.

Easy access if you know how. Closes too early at times and queues can be challenging if youre in a hurry.

I am totally disgusted in what they call service. Month end with only half the tills open and after standing in the queue for 45 minutes I was informed that its for SASSA pension only. I will never ever go there again and will discourage people to go there.

Checkers Protea Heights is a nice shop however, they have the MOST unfriendly and miserable staff!!! No greeting, no thank you and no smiles even if you are friendly to them. I have on 3 occasions told this to management who said they were aware of it and were working on it but I havent noticed any difference over the 5 months that I have been in this area . Take them to WW or PnP and notice the difference in attitude, tell them to greet each customer as if that customer was paying there salary. Have incentives for staff member of the month....you have to do something as it is not a pleasant experience. ..oh and the talking between cashier and packer while dealing with a customer is a big no no! Hope Checkers takes cognisance of these comments as I am not the only one who experiences this.

I have been doing shopping at this Checkers since it opened. Not recommended at all. Staff not friendly. Got to wait for packers every day to remove their trolleys in middle of alleys and staff seem to think they have rights above customers. They will run you over without apoligizing.

Pathetic. I feel so sorry for Mr du Plessis. He is the only manager running up and down to try and satisfy us. Thus morning at the fruit and vegetable dept their were no bags on the dispencers. They were lying at the point of ea aisle. There were plenty rolls but the staff to lazy to hang them up. And i just cut a swiss roll that was packed out as freshly baked but it hardly has any jam in it and is bone dry but the worst is it has little white dots all over the cake when you cut it. Now you think ok whats this. It could be that it wasnt beaten up enough therefore not all the flour was mixed into the batter or are they trying to poison us with something. Its hard not to think this way with all the things go on in our country. Pse checkers you can be such a nice little shop if the managers stand behind the imcompitent staff. I can just imagine how difficult it is but this checkers has such a lot going thats wrong. Pull up yr socks and give Protea Heights quality service.

This store always charge you dubble for products and the prizes that they charged is different than on the shelves I am very disappointed in them. Check your slip before you leave the shop because if you checked the items at home you just dont want to to go back and you have to carry the lost.
