Previously had good experiences at this place. But not tonight.Waiter not attentive at all, cant provide a name as he did not introduce himself, unable to keep the table clean and drinks full throughout service, which was irritating as it was not even busy, if it was busy I would have totally understand and accept it. Starters was cold, which is sad cause its a dish to be served very hot, it was also presented with no cutlery, condiments, or any serviettes. Mains was okay, and value for what youre spending, but did not make up for the service, unfortunately. My guess will be not to think of it as a restaurant when planning on going out for a dinner, might be good for a nice kuier, as they do cater drinking specials, and the mentality of the service provided are not set on dining. Think of it as a pub with average or below average service depending on what youre used to. Also, although cute, toddlers should not be in the smoking area.

Nice place, service is not great but good potential if more people would support the restuarant.

Never been to a restaurant with this bad service and food. Left after 2 hours with no food. Will never see me or my family again. If I give less than one star I will.

Terrible service. 60 minutes after ordering our waiter told our order would be another seven minutes, but 15 minutes later we hadnt been served so we left. No updates, no sign of food, waste of time. DO NOT GO. Save yourself some time and get a pie from Engen instead. If I could give this place a rating of one star, I would.

If I could give less than one star I would.We travelled from Bettys Bay in the Western Cape yesterday and booked into Bains Lodge.I did contact Bushpub restaurant about two weeks ago to enquire on pre-booking and whether they are operating.I was set at ease that there is no need for pre-booking and also that the restaurant is open, they could not confirm whether the pub will be open which is understandable.Upon reaching our destination after a tiring drive and unpacking we head to the restaurant for a nice meal and some winding down. After confirming with the reception at Bains that the restaurant is open we were greeted by a closed restaurant, which the reception was not even aware of.As the restaurant is operating on Bains property as well as being the go to restautant for Bains traveĺlers I feel this to be very unprofessional in not informing at least Bains lodge from where their clientele is and also being closed for no reason at all.If normal administration is this unprofessional I shudder to think what the service in the restaurant will be like.I do not travel a lot and after checking and confirming everything and ending up disapointed, not good.

Marvelous food!! Lovely air conditioned venue. Great service! A true Rose City gem!! Also they are extremely well priced and situated in lovely natural surroundings.

Venue decent and well air-conditioned. Food quality and portions impressive. Prepared fresh and worth the little extra wait. Actually a large family restaurant with a small, well looked after, bar area. Worth a visit.

Bushpub Bloemfontein is the most unfriendly so called family restaurant. My family and I walked in, we were stared at like were zoo animals and did not belong there! Not even one waiter came to offer us a table! Just comes to show...nothing really changed after more then 24 years. Sadly disappointed.

Great place, friendly staff, great food

We were just at Bush Pub! What a dissappointment! The toilets were horribly dirty and unhygienic!! Dustbins were flowing over.....basins were dirty! Food was average....ordered periperi wings but fot chilli.....NOT periperi. Chips were raw!! You will not be seeing us again! Use to be a lovely pub! Place is dirty. Oh yes and staff were really unfriendly! Especially the guys. The lady behind the bar was awesome and friendly!

Great Place well maintained, thought service a little slow to cater for big groups. Instead of looking at service levels they concentrate on Tips per Waiter.

Food was good, but definitely not worth the two and a half hour wait we had to suffer through for our food. We arrive at the restaurant at 19:00 and only received our food at 21:00 and some of the other people we were with only got their food at 21:45. Also took them and hour to bring us our drinks (which were cokes).Service was terrible

Poor service, waitress couldnt even understand English or Afrikaans.Food was very average, and for the price, one would expect better.Service was a big let down on the whole eating experience.Worst of all was we had to sit in the smoking section because the aircon didnt work on the 32 degree day.

Service in this establishment is very poor. Staff cannot get any order from a starter to a main correct. 7 people and food served 15 minutes appart, not even a big table to manage. Drinks get spilled over my guests by waiters and it takes ages to get the food we ordered done correctly. This was always a good restaurant to visit. I guess new management or something big is amiss.

Loved this place. Family friendly, kids have a nice safe play area with cameras, so u can keep an eye on them.

Nice size, completely seperate buildings for smoking and non smoking. Furnishings are in good condition. Service is standard. Pricing is fair as well as a relatively good range of items on the menu.

One of my favourite places in Bloemfontein. If youre into a rustic style pub in a unique setting with plenty of space and a great menu thats fairly priced, you should most definitely visit these guys.

Waited more than an hour for our food. But, the food was nice and very well prepared.

Waited a bit long to be seated.BUT when I finaly was seated my waiter (Eugene) started serving me and was at my table every time a cup or glass was empty.placed my order and received the best steak and escargot I have ever tasted.compliments to the chef and to the rest of the staff welldone you guys will see me soon.

Great atmosphere and big portions of food. Theres a non smoking section with a kids play place that entertain the little ones for hours while the adults have time to enjoy their time.

Nice atmosphere, staff seems to run around like mad chickens. Not that busy to justify it either, so service is okay-ish. Staff is friendly but needs be more organized. Edit: I changed this to 1 star after not seeing a menu, in the menu book and being offered Ricoffy of all coffees. And being told there is no alternative. Meh.
