We arrived when they were very busy but I can really say that the service we received was of the top 5 experiences of my life. Thanks to our waiter, Erica.We had a milkshake (which was okay), a double espresso (which was amazing!), The Royal Breakfast with extra chips and a breakfast wrap.I can honestly say the eggs, balsamic reduction, hash brown and Halloumi were the best we had tasted. And the meals as a whole were delicious. It tasted like food prepared with love and attention to detail and not just another dish. Only thing I might recommend is sharper knives but we will definitely be back again. Well done!

Stopped here on my way to Joburg and was really excited to try this place given the outstanding reviews.I left confused because neither the coffee or the food I had was particularly good. Dont get me wrong, it wasnt terrible and the service was fine but the coffee and my breakfast wrap were pretty flavourless. Definitely not 4.7 stars worth.Its one of those places that if it had a lower rating, youd be pleasantly surprised, but at 4.7 stars the bar was too high to meet my expectations.

Absolutely worth it. Was my first time meeting a friend and tried the siphon method of coffee making with the Tanzania origin. Tremendous experience and well worth it.

What a great surprise!!!I ordered 2 cappuccinos and bought 2 bags of their single origin beans.Both drinks were perfectly extracted packing tons of flavour and the milk treatment was top notch.The packaging of the beans provided a fair amount of detail about what was inside (although a little more wouldnt hurt).The barista was extremely knowledgeable and genuinely friendly and welcoming.Well definitely be back! A must visit if youre in Bloem!

Real coffee shop ambience, the coffee is excellent, had the kings breakfast for which the fried feta and fries were the stars and all at very reasonable rates. My waitron Blessed was attentive and professional. A pleasure indeed.

I have been to this particular Royal Roastery twice and have enjoyed the experience on both occasions.The coffee is truly a stand out in Bloemfontein and the establishment is attractive on the inside.The service is always speedy and kind and it is always a bonus when it is possible to purchase the roasterys beans at the counter.Great place for a date, especially on a rainy day.Would recommend and will be visiting again very soon!

Spectacular coffee. What a wonderful find in Bloemfontein.My flat white had excellent texture, temperature and a wonderfully rounded flavour. Beans are roasted with care and a great blend is in use here. Definitely on my list of places to stop at whenever in town again

Excellent coffee and bfast

One of the few specialty coffee places in Bloem. The quality of the coffee is superior and their passion exceptional. Especially considering they have to cater for a very coffee-conservative community.Be sure to try something from the manual brewing station, but if youre not yet ready for black coffee at least have a flat white. The milk texture (and temperature) was perfect. We also enjoyed the chocolate cheesecake.

This is a Decent Effort of an Upmarket Coffee Roastery/Shop. I dont think the ambiance they tried to create is spot-on and they should work on this. The Coffee is decent, they just need to get the tastes consistent. Over-all not too bad.

The waitress informed me that my order, a toasted sandwich, would take a long time to prepare - seeing that they are busy. They were at approximately 40% capacity. After 25 minutes, she returned and enquired if the order could be cancelled - as the kitchen had not yet begun preparing the sandwich. The service was not much better on the previous occasions I sat down for a cup of coffee, and therefore, the 2 stars reflect my experiences at the Royal Roastery over a duration of a few months. Slow service aside, I do enjoy their coffee.

This is hands down the best place to go for good coffee in Bloem. The atmosphere is laid back but the staff are friendly and professional. Their baristas are well trained and versed in the complexities of coffee brewing and culture. Best example of a coffee shop in the Free State, but they also do fancy tea and deli style snacks, definitely worth a stop.

The frozen mint lemonade was beautifully refreshing. It tasted of fresh lemon & mint, not sweetly cloying....and was properly icy.

Coffee was excellent, great variety! The normal espressos, americanos, cappuccinos etc. Then they also have slow brews, aeropress, V60, chemex and siphon! The food was also great, we had breakfast, I had the Royal Breakfast, it was very tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I did feel the portion was a little small, I could have done with a bit more food, perhaps adding some chips would have been a good idea.

They have a very nice hazelnut ice coffee and delicious cakes.
