We stayed in caravan park with private bathroom and kitchen for 3 days. Really enjoyed it, management and staff friendly. Resort old, and maybe needs a revamp, but clean and well maintained. River very close and caught our biggest carp ever. Really fun with clean pools, super tubes and fishing.

The resort is not too far or too near the city centre. There is a huge mall quite close to it. The accommodation is adequate though very limited. We had to purchase a sharp knife to cut bread, and other impliments to use in the sparsely equipped kitchen. As it was a long weekend, the recreational areas was very full. There was no excessive noise and everybody enjoyed themselves. After the day visitors departed, the area was a mess and littered with their rubbish. Fortunately management had work teams cleaning up till quite late the evening. The next day there were no signs of the previous days rubbish. For people wanting to get away and not travel too far from Gauteng, this is an ideal venue.

This place has a LOT of untapped potential! The bathroom facilities are clean and easily accessible and there is a beautiful and vast area for walks and exploration. Nonetheless, the trump card for this place is its facilities (swimming pools and their surrounding fences, put-put course, trampolines, swings, super tubes, braai areas, etc) - these easily merit the cost they charge for the day/camping but are not maintained like they used to be. Furthermore, the quality of customer service is very inconsistent and you never know what you are going to get. I did not visit the restaurant on the premises but I believe it is very good and well worth a visit. I will definitely visit again to see how this establishment is doing 5 years from now.

We booked caravan stand G20 which had private ablutions and a huge carport. There is no grass under the carport for those who prefer some greenary. We were only there for one night and dont have kids so didnt venture to the pool, but when I went to the little shop for some ice, the public area had lush lawn which seems well kept. Their website doesnt recommend using the R213 gravel road when heading South on the N1, but we took a chance upon leaving to go home and found the road perfectly acceptable. Granted, we had a 4x4 and were towing an off road caravan. The road is slightly corrugated and may rattle your teeth a bit if you are in a sedan, but the road is definitely not impassable. There were no potholes...

Lovely private campsites near the waters edge, neat ablutions. Just a pity that the restaurant does not want to sell drinks to overnight visitors, Sunday lunch guests only receive bar service.
