The thing I remembered most was the manager/owner/owners son/family member shouting and swearing at staff. This happened more than once. He seemed immature and appeared to be on a power trip. The times he wasn’t shouting at people he was chatting to other staff using profane language…Might want to keep your kids at home.This guy was so deep into his power trip that he didn’t even think to clear our table or offer assistance while we waited for our waiter, who was clearly busy attending to another order.Reprimanding and disciplining staff in front of your patrons is very unprofessional and immature. How a person treats their staff is a reflection of they they view and think of their patrons.The food and service was good but on principle I will avoid this place in future.

Food was very good, and a very warm welcome from the host/owner of the restaurant. Everything is Halaal so our group ordered everything. Everything in there is old.. Not sure about how antique it is, but definitely takes you back to the old style SA homes. We went for breakfast, so if you are hungry, order the Farmers Breakfast, it will fill you up!!

What a quaint little place with lots and lots of delightful spaces! Nishy, my gorgeous daughter in law treated her mum and I to a tasty lunch. Our food was served in antique crockery. Nish and I had the pulled lamb dish with zucchini chips on the side. I also had potato chips. The pulled lamb was served on a slice of aubergine which was marinated with an unusual flavor. Beths had a salad with chicken Our waitress was extremely accommodating and patient with us as we changed the format of the meals we ordered. None of us had the carbohydrates. This place is stunning and highly recommended.

The food was mediocre. Service was practically non existent. They did not have sufficient tea cups and served tea in very thick coffee mugs. On a busy morning there were just 2 waiters. We ordered pancakes 🥞 but were not informed that it would be doused in caramel sauce. We preferred maple syrup. It was replaced but when we asked for extra maple syrup the waitress didnt look pleased about having to fetch a side serving. All in all a not so pleasant experience. Will not be returning.

A very fascinating restaurant. Its quaint and rustic with amazing vintage decor and ambiance. The indoor and outdoor seating is nothing like Ive seen in Durban. The staff are were very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was excellent. The service was great. There is off road parking. Wheelchair accessibility might be a challenge here. Definitely in the outside seating.

A special and beautiful place. Unassuming from the outside but huge and beautiful on the inside. Friendly staff and owners. Delicious food and beverages. They also roast their own coffee. There is a barber shop that gives you a free cut or shave if you eat at this restaurant.

Lovely brunch atmosphere. New ownership really did a good job giving this place a more friendly vibe. Menu was a bit too extensive but food was fresh and delicious. The few vegan options were good.Our waiter was brilliant, lively and on the ball. Prices could be a tad bit on the expensive side once you realize the actual portion size.Parking is roadside. Facilities are clean and neat. Live music on weekends I think.

Was really looking forward to experiencing this place but my experience was average. Only thing that was great was the food. Wanted an outside table and we were told to sit inside and we can move when one becomes available, even when the tables became available they kept taking other people there.

Love the vintage decor. The location is ideal and close to many shopping and working hubs. Customer service is excellent, but service was slow on the day we went, taking 30 minutes for 3 peoples orders. Filter coffee is the best in Durban! Coffee lovers will not be disappointed. Menu is well priced and theres something for everyone. This is a must try for anyone visiting Durban. Halal too!

Must say we all dream about such a scenic place, set in the mid centuries, the rustic setting is matched with delicious mouth watering meals that are simple but filing. Antique Cafe is a destination that is a must and cant be missed when you in the area. The menu is well priced and has meals that leave you satisfied. Service was spot on and the chef came to our table to greet and meet us.

Its been months since Ive been nagging hubby to visit, The Antique Cafe on Churchill and on my birthday, 31 December, I got my own way 😊 lets just say that the wait was oh! so worth it, even hubby was raving about it. Normally I would firstly review on the decor and aestethics because, well! Thats just me.. But I honestly could not fault this Cafe on their excellent service. Im not sure if everyone is this good but our attendant Thobani was such a breathe of fresh air in the hospitality industry. Kudos to you my guy 👍👍👍 everything about this place was a truly spectacular sensory experience from the moment we stepped in the door. I loved the decor especially because I am an antique fan or a fan of antiques #justsaying😅😅😅. The service, the food, the vibe, everything was on point. Im not going to go into too much detail because I would love for you as a first time visitor to experience the excitement for yourself. I got the birthday song, the best cheese cake ever and a whole lot of love at this quaint and beautiful cafe. My family and I will definitely be back for more.

Now that’s Antique Cafe for you 😍This cosy, vintage styled, indoor outdoor cafe has been around for a while now & definitely one of my fav places to go too 👌🏻It has the perfect ambiance, the food is good, drinks are good, desserts are good, waitrons & manager are always SO friendly - what more can you ask for? 👏🏻Go in & try out whatever you’d like, I honestly cannot suggest anything specific EXCEPT one thing I must say is that the Baby Beesting Cake is a MUST 😍Just indulged in this gem of a place Durban is fortunate to have today for Breakfast but I will be attaching a few pics from my other previous visits as well. Hope you guys enjoy!

Very friendly management and staff, brought my small lap dog with and they were accommodating with him. Great selection of foods, the rustic antique feel is not only portrayed by the antique décor and furniture, but followed through with the homely service and crockery and cutlery.

A quiant little place which offers the most amazing food and service! Visited more than once and there are no words to explain how flavourful and well prepared the food is, the vintage feel and live music really gives this place a great feel. The staff are lively and are on top of their game! The owner Younus Moosa is truly one in a million, be it Antique Cafe, Luckys Manaba or the St James, he really makes you feel at home and part of the family, with his simplicity, humility and cheerfulness. Hats of to the Owner and his team on doing a splendid job👌🏽❤️

What a beautiful, hidden gem! The whole aesthetic is so on brand, the service is great, the chai latte is just a burst of cinnamon and rich chai flavour, and the spinach quesadilla and fries I ordered were a fair serving size and tasted well seasoned and fresh. My friend also said her chicken pasta was creamy, and tasted amazing. If I could give a 6, I really would. There is a small guarded parking space, but youll most likely park on the side of the road right by the cafe. Fully recommend.

Wow, what a hidden gem. Walk in at the slightly curious entrance into a gem of a restaurant, and through to the whimsical garden area, where you can find a unique table and sit in a rickety looking but thoroughly comfortable chair. Thabani served us. The most friendly and energetic waiter ever. We shared the antique gallery. Talk about a fully loaded breakfast. And wasnt everything delicious. Take a look at the pic. Eggs, chops, sausage, mushrooms, lamb rashers, kebabs, fries salad. Amazing. Lots of choice on the menu, vegans provided for as well.

Although highly rated, I found the service to be wanting in many areas. We had to get the attention ourselves of staff numerous times, to be seated, for the tables to be wiped down, for orders to be taken and to query the orders coming through. Honestly the food was relatively good with the smoke salmon breakfast coming out really nice. 5 stars if the waiting and floor staff can be better.

Bathrooms are clean, fresh and beautiful with lovely extras....ie hand lotion etc. Id recommend this restaurant if youd enjoy a quaint sense of style and relaxed atmosphere. 👌👌👍👍👏👏👏💖💖..... suggestion for the restaurant : some beautiful soft background cafe jazz music.... perhaps ? There was no music on the day I enjoyed the restaurant. I must add, that did not make my experience any less enjoyable. 💖

The Host was the most warm and welcoming man ever! The service from our waitress was outstanding and the food was delicious. AND they have a really cute cat called Lucy which graced us with her presence

I had lunch here today. The food is great and the ambience greater if you one who loves the old look and furnishing. I sat outside under a grape vine canopy and in durbans balmy temperature had a lovely lunch. A flower shop is available on site if youd like to leave with a lovely bouquet

We had such an amazing breakfast here! Our waitor was super attentive and just such a lovely person. The food was delicious! The shakshuka was full of flavor and eggs cooked perfectly...their Hawaiian Flatbread (one of their current specials) and sweet potatoe fries also hit the spot!

Theres inside seating but opted to enjoy the weather and sit outside in the beautifully kept garden. Theres enough trees for shade. The food was quick and posrtion was adequate.
