This is a quaint little place I would love to come back to! It’s a house that’s been changed to accommodate restaurant and dining. I really love the decor- seats with cushions nestled into corners which lends itself to awesome relaxation with friends!The menu is interesting and I enjoyed two starters which were yummy, especially their peanut satay sauce- a must!A friend had the sundried tomato and spinach pasta and she couldn’t stop raving about itTry the Thai deep fried ice cream- the crumb has flavours that transport you over to the Middle East! Yum!The staff are wonderful, engaging and friendly and even more so are the resident kitty cats

We had a meal at Leongrass on Sunday. Food and service was really good. They seem to catch up speed again after Lockdown 3. The place needs some TLC and attention. Will definately be going back in the near future. I will recommend everyone to go and experience it for yourselves

Definitely one of the best local restaurants. Lemongrass treats us well, which is why we always return. Amazing food, that always has a new fresh touch to it. Chaz is a good waitron, with a good appreciation for the finer details about the food. The atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing. Here’s to supporting our local restaurants over franchises!

We love Lemongrass. As a vegan, it isnt always easy to find good meal choices.The staff have created a most amazing vegan experience for me over and over again. Flavours and Colour!! Yummy.The ambiance is just fabulous.

It used to be one of my favourite restaurants but my last visit there was just average. The fiance s beef curry had excessive fat on the meat. My chicken snitchel was overcooked and a bit tasteless. I ordered Frangelico cake (used to be my favourite) but the cake was stale, cold and dry. I got the impression that it was in the fridge for too long and it was served below room temperature. It was a very disappointing experience at this once upmarket restaurant.

Fancy a taste experience of Indonesia or Dutch Cuisine then Lemongrass is the place to go ! Situated in a cosmopolitan street this hidden Wonder has many surprises waiting for you. On entering this old world restaurant built over a 100 years ago you are greated with a style and wonder that the owner Ivonne Taylor has carefully and knowingly designed with many many imported exotic ornaments and absolutely gorgeous fabrics. As you walk over wooden floors with hand woven carpets you hear the sounds of gentle music in the background with a touch of soul. The waiters are very well groomed and dressed semi formal and they remind me of top class waiters that would only be found in a First class cabin of an international airline. They seem to breeze and flow through the room and take care of your needs without any effort. Lovely music with tunes from the pianists playing on the keys that got the patrons to clap hands after each piece from the piano making this even more memorable. Now the food - oh my goodness.Firstly the presentation is tops with attention to detail. We tried the Indonesian style food. My palate was alive with Subtly spiced without being extravagant flavors and secret spices( no not referring to the food being chili’s —- it’s spiced ) Every bite a mouth watering experience. The food is vibrant and colourful and clearly preparation done by top chefs in the kitchen. In winter there is a crackling wood fire place. While you enjoying the meal browse around at the pressed ceiling and the hard wood floors. The area had a gentle smell of coriander , rosemary , turmeric and gentle spices. Sounds from the kitchen made you realize that food is freshly prepared. Hidden outside around a corner is an area where on certain nights folks come around as a community and listen to local artists playing their tunes on a stage. A few tables and a fire place for the cold evenings. Toilets facilities are of the cleanest I have seen. There is free WiFi for 2 hours and the waitrons are more than pleased to assist with that. A security guard looks after your vehicles in a well lit dedicated parking lot.

Wow! This place is simply amazing! Best place for a romantic date night, a special outing with the famz, or just for hanging out. This is a true gem. The entire theme is Indo-Dutch, and I tellz you, this stuff is legit! The cuisine, the people, the decor, everything about this place is authentic and intriguing. The service is fantastic, the food is fantastic, the presentation is fantastic. Cant rate this place highly enough! We drive all the way from Pretoria to Benoni, just to come eat there.

Food was great, relaxing atmosphere, but being helped by a female waitress that asks of we take drugs because apparently our eyes are red is absolutely uncalled for.

The external appearance was a bit battered and bruised due to the hail storm we had recently, however the food was excellent (as it usually is). Lemongrass ia a cozy place with many interesting titbits to look at hanging on the walls and on display in the various rooms. I will say that the breakfast menu is quite limited (only about 5 or 6 items) though, so we ended up ordering from the whole menu instead.

This restaurant is situated in a hundred year old house with a great ambience. The owner showed us around and told us about its history. The food was delicious - we had the Rijstafel, a selection of 13 Indonesian dishes, which allowed us to try out the different flavors. We also had the Moroccan Tajine. This together with a selection of starters and desserts made for a memorable and relaxed evening. The service was excellent and the waiter took the time to describe the dishes. Highly recommended - we will definitely be back

We booked for 12 people at Lemongrass for my husband’s birthday lunch.Was disappointed from the minute we stepped in.I specifically asked to be seated indoors & they seated us outside.Waited almost 30 minutes for our starters then over an hour for our mains. Ended up starting our lunch at 3.45pm.My husband was served the incorrect fish dish. They took another half hour to bring him the correct fish. Then my daughters food arrived after we had all finished our meal.Our waiter was good & the food was nice but we were so frustrated that we really didn’t enjoy it.Deserts is a definite no no there😒 Rather ho get a Woolies tinroof ice cream.Their prices are high so you’d expect fine dining but it really didn’t meet the standards.Establishment needs some tlc .Definitely wouldn’t go there again. Sorry

Great atmosphere although it has a bit of a cramped feeling. Like too many tables are squashed into an inadequate space. Service was very good. I was informed that the item I chose on the menu was not available so I was forced to choose another dish?? I think they should have informed customers prior to taking orders that the item was not available... The food was very good and well presented.

Our waiter provided us with relatively good service, which was a pleasant change from the cold greeting we received from the floor manager when we arrived, which was strange considering there were hardly any patrons there for breakfast. The inside seating area looks rather dark and could use some additional lighting. There are a number of cats around, which is not a problem, unless they are sitting and lying on restaurant tables, which was the case. Bathrooms are not of a welcoming state and the menu items are on the pricey side. One positive is that the coffee is tasty.

Absolutely amazing is all I can say about this place. Had to try everyones meals and they were all delicious. If you dont go to this restaurant you are missing out on one of the most amazing eating experiences you can get in the Benoni area.

What a great Restaurant. Great Indo Dutch Cuisine. Food has cascades of wonderfull taste. Celebrated 2 years with my fiance there, she loved it just as much. Our waiter Keegan was of great service and very much on the ball. Look forward to our next visit there. Well done Lemongrass!

An amazing little restaurant. I wouldnt have expected this little house like restaurant to pump out such lovely meals. A bunch of us went, and all of our meals came out amazingly.Do be careful the spices can hit the novice palate if you are not prepared. I loved it. I would certainly go back again. Delicious.

Celebrated my wifes birthday with friends and family at Lemongrass on Saturday. Food was of excellent quality, and much enjoyed by everyone. Friendly service and a lovely ambience. Greatly recommended, including events.

Completely overpriced! (R80 for a sandwich??) also, when we got there on Thursday, we stood at the door waiting to be seated but there were no staff to be seen? So we seated ourselves and honestly when we saw the prices on the menu... We just walked out. They didnt even see us walk out either.

Love this restaurant. Visited on a fixed-menu evening accompanied by a selection of wines from the Riebeeck Estate. Delightful evening spent with enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeable staff. A menu that suited the wine served or should that be the other way around? Will definitely recommend with a visit from me again soon.

Food took soooo long to arrive. Sitting outside is full of dust. Fish and salad and lemon was put in a warmer as salad and lemon was wilted. No flavor in the cheese sauce and potatoes were terrible. Never again !! We only finished our food cause we were starving ☹️
