I started using Carla as a supplier in early 2017. I placed an order for multiple items, including wing back chairs, dining chairs, decals and wall paper.Late last year I purchased a family home and commissioned Carla to facilitate the supply and installation of the curtains in the house. She knew that we were also having to install a kitchen as well as bedroom cupboards and she offered to tender her services in this regard.Carla struck me as someone that was ambitious and who really took pride in her business and the products and services that she offered. I personally take pride in supporting people who show a good work ethic and who want to make a success of their small businesses; as a result, I decided to give Carla the work.Through my experience with Carla in early 2017, there were some alarm bells that brought me to believe that Carla did cut corners. The dining room chairs that she supplied me with are all quite poorly made with low quality wood. The legs on the dining room chairs struck me as quite thin and flimsy. A fair amount of the chairs have since been scrapped and are now to be replaced as the legs are broken. I’m raising this as a concern with Carla a few months ago, her response was that the clients, in the facility that I own, were “abusing” the chairs. This didn’t make sense to me as she knew that the chairs were for a fairly high traffic application (as with any other eatery). In my mind, the chairs really should’ve lasted longer than a few months.As with any supplier that I use (and at times to my detriment) I generally make large upfront payments - and Carla was no exception. In most of my dealings with her, I paid her in full for the majority of the materials and the labour for the project at my house. Of the R600K order that I placed with Carla, approximately R50K is to be paid to her on completion of the snags that she is well aware of. As seen in the images that I’ve posted, there is clearly a value of far more, than what is outstanding, that will be required to rectify the rubbish work that she has executed - never mind the damage to the materials that I paid for in full.In this most recent dealing with Carla, it became very apparent that she takes every possible opportunity to avoid responsibility for her poor workmanship and foresight on projects such as these. Her excuses started becoming more and more absurd as the defective workmanship started becoming more apparent. It has become very clear to me that Carla is an opportunist and that she took on a job that she knew she had no expertise in - despite her stating that her “carpenter” was excellent.My part in this was, clearly, that I trusted a supplier that I had developed a business relationship with and I neglected to check the references specific to the scope she was undertaking on this project.In my last few interactions with Carla, I found myself becoming increasingly irritated with her and I couldn’t put my finger in what it was until another contractor doing work here pointed it out to me: Carla avoids responsibility as far as possible and refuses to take ownership of her part. This is a character shortcoming that I cannot handle, especially in light of the fact that I sacrificed so much for my new family home that has been left rubbished by Carla and her team. My family and so have been left feeling extremely disappointed. Carla has yet to take responsibility for the rubbish that she has installed in my house.In closing, my review of Carla and her company, CSI, is that the experience has been extremely frustrating. My recommendation is not to use her company without stringent oversight. Be careful to fall for the gas lighting and excuses and do not fall for the 80% deposit nonsense.

Have been trying for two weeks to get hold of the place. Not even a returned call. Work looks amazing on Google, but I wouldn’t know because I couldn’t make use of their services. If you see a few missed calls on your phone from the same number, return that call! If you changed your contact details please update your info. Would’ve loved to make use of your services. Pity.
