Villa Contessa is an absolute gem hidden in Beaufort West. Gorgeous space, wonderful host, and top quality food. A destination in and of itself. Simply loved it!

I did not enjoy sleeping over there. The room was dark and small, and not even a chair in the room to sit and read. The dining area is outside so I did not even try that as it is way too hot in the summer. It is also right next to a busy road, so good luck sleeping.

Nice decor, comfortable and clean rooms. The owner also happens to be a very good cook and she can whip you up a delicious meal. She made an amazing veggie platter for me. Definately worth the stop.

I had to overnight somewhere when there was a family medical drama. This is a really great place to stay - friendly, characterful, good food, Edith and the staff absolutely the best (and dont forget the dogs!). Im telling everyone to do themselves a great favour and book in here.

This really is a wonderful place to stay. So quaint and beautifully decorated. Edith is wonderful and so friendly :) the beds and showered was amazing. We stayed in the Omar Sharif room with our doggie. The food was just amazing and so delicious!! Would definitely recommend. Great stopover.

Lovely stay.Love the room decor and linen. Bathroom is very nice.Breakfast was very good, something new and loved it.Owner is very friendly and accommodating and overall stay was amazing.

Booked this B&B as it looked quirky and interesting, but it is on the main road and the traffic noise is detrimental to a good nights sleep.The room was clean, the bed comfortable, but this being the Karoo, one would expect an electric blanket in the room.Good value for money, but we probably wouldnt stay there again, purely because of the traffic noise.

Such a great host, beautiful setting and a complimentary room upgrade. Nice porch to sit and have a glass of wine enjoying the sunset. Comfy clean room and quiet 500m off the main road.Pet friendly as well.....we will be back.

Rooms are great...comfortable...meal was mediocre...the breakfast for the next day was no longer available because of the film shoot that was taking place the next day...we were told at 7pm that night despite my having communicated such prior to checking in

Homy, exceeding expectations. Much more than just accomodation.

Stayed over in the Freddy Mercury room. Arrived at about 21h00 (as was arranged with the owner/manager). We had to sit and wait at the gate for 20 minutes as the owner / manager was visiting a friend. Not merely enough parking for all the cars for all the rooms, so a further struggle to get the cars parked. Beforehand we arranged with the owner/ manager to have an extra bed / matress made up in the room as we had an unexpected guest with us, which she indicated was no problem! On arriving in the room we noted that the matress was not there. Asked the owner / manager about the matress she then brought a matress so thin and tiny not even a school kid would be able to sleep on it, with 2 continental pillows and a duvet cover only with no inner!! Ended up sleeping 3 in the bed! Even worse we were woken up before 7h00 in the morning by the owner / manager to move our cars! Also coffee, tea and sugar station with no milk in the rooms for coffee! Electricity went out, just after arival, phoned owner/manager for candles she said she is at her friends place again she will bring candles later... really? Needless to say she never brought candles so we ended up bathing and getting ready for bed with our cellphone lights! Was also charged R90 pp for what we were informed would be a traditional english breakfast, instead we got a pan omelette to share between 2 people with a piece of toast each... although not bad it is not what you paid for!! The bathroom dustbin was also not cleaned out and still had used tampons from previous guests... yuk! Apart from all of this the place is beautiful and and beds are comfy and we had a good nights rest!
