Its a very nice place, but the cars in the middle of the night is real disturbing. We all struggled to sleep because of this.But its a beautiful place and the cottage is nice.We stayed here in 2015 also but inside the premises and that was stunning.

I would definitely recommend this guest house. Clean,comfortable rooms,very friendly staff who go out of their way to make ones stay a a pleasant experience. Good food, good prices.

Nice place good food but they really need to look after the maintenance in the rooms. The blankets and throws can use a everyday was. The ones that were in our roo. Were smelling of dust.

On my way from Cape Town to Johannesburg by car, we decided to spend the night in Beauford West and I am sure glad we landed at 17 on Bird. The rooms are really nice, i slept like a rock in one of the beds, even felt better than my own! Therefore I definitely recommend 17 on Bird as your stop of choice when passing through these parts!

Best over night stay in Beaufort West!

Lovely place to stay overnight. We stayed there on our way to Cape Town from Pretoria, literally just a minute from the N1. They had a nice bunk bed for our baby in the family room.

Stayed in the cottage across the road. Was very clean and nice high ceilings that helped against the Karoo heat. One can tell this is a very busy establishment. Had security overnight. One complaint however, the street carry a lot of traffic during night time and the cottage is next to the road.

Great place, clean and very comfortable. Will definitely stay over every time we drive down to Cape Town.

We booked on line through booking.com and paid R900 for a 4 sleeper room. Upon arrival the receptionist insisted that we pay R400 more for my 2 girls. On Thursday the same receptionist calls me and accused me of taking a blanket, this place is an embarrassment to Beaufort West really a rip off

Wow was this place nice. We ended up her by accident but the stars aligned and we were able to get a room. A room with hella comfy beds, Dstv, AC, a clean and wonderful bathroom, and a little outdoor patio with table and chairs. We had dinner in our room due to covid restrictions but it was perfect bone the less. Delicious Karoo lamb chops and shank. Drinks on order to your room too. The breakfast the next day was great too. It was modern and homely with a beautiful garden and a very refreshing pool. Really a great place to sleep when coming through that has all you need. They also have secure off street parking.

This place is a beautiful guest house in the middle of nowhere where you can experience a friendly hostess, great service from the staff and a delicious breakfast, included in the overnight price. They offer drinks that you can buy at the reception, which can be taken to the rooms, and they have forward-thinking braai packs that you can order from them if you are in need of a lekker braai after a long day’s drive. Blitz, wood, matches and braai food are all included in the braai pack. I would maybe suggest one proper vegetarian addition to the list (apart from the greek and potato salad) that might replace the meat for any person with dietary preferences. Over I had a great night here.

My husband and son stopped over in Beaufort West en route to Cape Town from Johannesburg. It was freezing outside. Their room had been heated for them and they enjoyed the most delicious meal in the restaurant on site. Thank you to all at Bird Cottages! Well be back!!

Absolutely lovely. Friendly and efficient staff that are welcoming and accommodating. Beautiful swimming pool with a view of the neighbours ducks, swans and springbok. The food menu is very well priced and the food is delicious. You can also eat by the pool, in the restaurant or in your room. The rooms are big with spacious bathrooms and comfortable beds. I highly recommend this lovely place.

We called just after midnight an hour before arrival en route CPT. A friendly cheerful voice confirmed availability. She greeted us by name on arrival at the gate. Tired and hungry we were welcomed into an immaculate space with fresh crisp linen, complimentary tea coffee and home baked rusks beautifully presented in a glass jar! Rested in comfort (most comfortable beds I have ever) and style, we continued our journey showered refreshed and well treated. Thank you soo much for your warm hospitality.

Always a winner staying at this guesthouse. Rooms are beyond expectation, and service is warm and welcoming. Dinner can be arranged, and breakfast is included. Each room has aircon, TV with a door that leads to garden etc. Very clean and neatly kept. Parking is provided in fenced-off garden.

All necessary creature comforts. The pool was a relief after a long days driving and the bed a oasis. Super accommodating, friendly staff. They even brought my bedtime glass of milk.

This is a very well run established, and Very reasonably priced. My family and I stayed in one of their cottages for a weekend and we were blown away by how clean and neat our accommodation was. The beds were comfortable and there was more than enough extra bedding in the cupboards. There is also an air conditioner in each room - a much needed feature in the Karoo!Would definitely recommend this place, and will be staying here again in the future when we return to Beaufort-West.
