What a delightful gem in an unexpected place!The outside tables are between the plants in the nursery that creates a lovely peaceful atmosphere. You can easily spend a whole afternoon here simply enjoying the ambiance.The food was really good, the service fast and professional and the atmosphere relaxing. Treat yourself to their specialty coffee.The restroom facilities are clean and Covid regulations are observed.We will definitely visit again.

Very glad to have discovered this little gem on a spontaneous detour into Barberton. Delicious homemade food, surrounded by fascinating antiques and museum pieces. And of course we had to try the Spoorweg Koffie on the menu...a flavourful coffee blend, with a tot of condensed milk on the side, added to taste... Wonderful on the chilly morning of our visit!

Absolutely Fantastic food. Burgers and wraps were top notch. Will highly recommend as a stop to anyone going through barberton. The store is filled with historical items to look through as well. Pity I didnt take any pictures of the restaurants outside seating as its very nice and cool. Surrounded by flowers. No pictures allowed inside to preserve the museum items.

The best sit down meal I have had at a restaurant in a long time.The atmosphere is very warm and homey, the coffee is top class with an amazing variety and the food is absolutely the best in the lowveld.The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the service was great.I will encourage anyone if they are in or around baberton to definitely stop here for a coffee or a bite to eat.Cant wait to return for round number 2

What a beautiful and interesting little restaurant and museum. So many things to look at and wonderful food. If you find yourself in Barbarton you simply have to visit Die Plaaskombuis.

A place everyone must visit, when in barbeton, the food is great, the vetkoek and bread is baked fresh in an old style wood fired oven, you will not be disappointed

A quaint little Coffee-shop Restaurant with a very enjoyable atmosphere. A calm serene setting when sitting on the stoep (deck) overlooking the little nursery underneath some huge old trees, with a little nursery shop and Bread & Vetkoek bakery in the corner.The food my family and I had was tasty and well prepared. My wife and grand-kids each had an adult milkshake also that they thoroughly enjoyed.My Beef pastrami was a little differently presented than I am use to, but tasty and enjoyable.Cappuccino & Double Espresso were good, with a little room for improvement on the milk foam of the Cappuccino.All and all a very enjoyable experience and lunch and will stop their again when passing through Barberton.Make an effort to visit Die PlaasKombuis, it will be a stop worth your while.

This was one of our worst experiences of a travel stopover for breakfast and coffee.Although the service and owners/staff were friendly and obliging, the meal itself can only be described as poor.Eggs were not fresh, overcooked, bacon not properly cooked.Coffee diluted with water.Not value for money.

We once again had a nice meal and coffee at our favorite coffee shop. Friendly service and beatiful setting. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent little restaurant in a historic building with good homely food and a great rustic atmosphere. Great to see a neglected and derelict section of old Barberton rejuvenated in this way. Well worth the support of both tourists and locals.

Barberton does not, in honesty, have a lot going on. But this place is a lovely little reservoir of peace in the town. The Taiwanese iced coffee is amazing, and there are very good lunch items as well (I recommend the roast beef sandwich). The restaurant is part of a complex which includes a garden centre, small gallery, and newly-launched bakery. A recommended stop along the geo trail.

Cosy and quaint, Die Plaaskombuis serves up great fresh food at very affordable prices. The menu has some traditional South African options (read ‘vetkoek’) but also offers some more contemporary choices. Set under a massive fig tree adjacent to a nursery, this is where you can get away from it all and start enjoying your holiday break!

The service is amazing and the staff are super duper helpful and the food and milkshake is worth travelling from nelspruit for it
