The nurses from section D ward were so amazing! I had lost my baby, was heartbroken and deeply saddened. The nurses showered me with love and empathy, reassured me that everything will be okay. Its as though theyve had extra special training in dealing with such vulnerable and broken patients. The food is like hotel standard, made my stay there pleasant despite my difficult situation.I highly recommend the hospital, however cannot say the same about the gynae.

I had a small scheduled op on 22 Dec 2020. With covid regulations my husband was not permitted to stay with me. But because I am pregnant with a high risk pregnancy they allowed him to escort me to my bed and help me settle in. Admission staff was friendly and efficient. Once at the surgical ward the nurses checked me in and made feel very comfortable and especially after hubby left they came and did my BP etc and really calmed me for the procedure that awaited me. The ward, bed and bathrooms was clean and the food very appetizing.

I gave birth on the 31 Aug 2020 at this hospital. I must say I dont think I will ever consider coming back to that hospital. The nurses in the maternity care less especially now with this covid they are just too relaxed and take it as an opportunity to rest than really do proper work. I had a csection and 1 day later started bleeding so bad at that time my newborn was crying for feed. One nurse walked in (I think she is venda) and found me with blood all over the floor, baby crying and guess what she walked out in fact ran away because she knew I would ask for assistance especially with baby feed since I had to clean and sort myself in the bathroom. Instead of her offering to assist with baby she walked out of the ward. I felt helpless especially since Im a first time mom. The next morning the very same nurse was rushing to knock off in the morning and guess what she forgot BP temp on my arm☹ all bcause she was rushing to go home. Almost all nurses at clinton do that when its time to knock off they care less about patients. I really think public hospitals will do better than going to clinton hospital. The only nice and friendly employee there is the tea lady. As for the rest they need more training and how to treat patients professionally.

Rude staff at entrance and where you have to sanitize. Unorganized. Had to wait for 3 hours before she was helped and then waited another two hours for the doctor to see her. Spend the whole day in emergency just to see a doctor. Have the worst experience possible in this place. Was not allowed to see my child that was in hospital after i have been checked. Did not phone me when my child was moved from one to another ward or when she went in for her operation. Very expensive and demanding and with that you are treated like you are doing them a favour for using their services. When my daughter was discharged the morning the demand the she must still put in a order for food for lunch and dinner. This is how they steal from your medical aid. Wonder who will eat that food. If I could give a -100 on a rating I would, I was admitted to this hospital and the treatment from the nurses was the WORST EVER!!! When my husband tried to call in to find out what was happening they left him on hold or were very rude to him. The nurse had given me something in my drip and when I questioned her she denied everything and ran away, she basically sedated me. When I had sent the hospital an email explaining what had happened to me and wanting and explanation and explaining the services from the nurses were HORRIBLE, they denied everything and basically said they have never heard any complaints from any patients. Terrible experience! Took my 1 year old to casualties with fevers of 39.9 two nights in a row and still waited an hour to see a doctor. The doctor on the second night should have consulted a paediatrican before letting my son go because 2 days later he was anemic and severely dehydrated when being admitted. It is only their paeds floor that actually did their jobs properly. Also dont hold your breath waiting for a physician to come and see you in the wards. I asked them to please find out if any physician could come and see me as I had to make child care arrangements for my son and it had been 12hours since I had been admitted. The Dr took the time to come and see me just to say she refuses to treat me as I have issues and then made me wait another hour to see a different doctor!

Worst hospital ever. up to this day my wife is still traumatized because of this hospital and its staff members.it was on the 20th of May 2016 when my wife experienced labor pains at 31 week of her pregnancy. she was quickly rushed to the hospital where she had to walk herself from the car to the maternity ward after asking the reception staff for directions to maternity. when we get to maternity there female security at the door pointed us to maternity as well when we got in the nurses where so relaxed and not treating her as an emergency at all now because it was her first pregnancy we did not know what happens but she kept on telling the sister that she is in pain and she still insisted that she lays on the bed facing up as she cried in pain explaining that she cant because its painful they still insisted that they need to check if she is on labor. there goes the nurse finger in nothing come out. they put that heart rate machine then they claimed that the heart rate is faint okay now we are confused because they are communicating among st themselves then the nurse sticks her finger inside my wife again then she comes out with a dark reddish discharge. after wards they literally give her a white tablet claiming it will take the pain away and that doctor Coleman is on his way okay so we relax. we waited until Saturday the 21st. still no doctor. so i went home to freshen up. then when i came back to the hospital i met my wife at the corridors on a wheel chair to one of the gynaes rooms so what happend is that she felt like she was peeing her pans then as she reached her hand in her panties to see what is licking she saw blood the she panicd and scream for help to the doctor who was in the other room. so when i met her at the corridors she was on her way to the scan in the assisting doctors room so as we got there the doctor confirmed that my daughter has died and they still kept on telling us that the doctor was on his way since the 20th then my wife sat with a dead baby inside of her until 6pm on the 21st of may when they only decided to take her to Theatre for a C- section by that time my wife is swolen up i cant even recognize her her blood pressure is out of control. That doctor Coleman of theirs is still on his way. Sunday the 22nd she is till kept in hospital then Monday discharge day that useless doctor Coleman comes to sign the discharge papers with no explanation nothing. then he goes on to recommend his daughter for physio. so he gave us an appointment for the stitch wound checkup when we get the can you believe that doctor coleman asked us how the baby was doing when we responded that there is no baby the baby died while we waited for him under the hand of netcare clinton hospital staff he just responded oh,! not even an apology.do no use doctor Coleman he is the worse, irresponsible and insensitive gynecologist who doesnt put his patients to heart and doesnt consider them at all. The staff members behave as if though they are forced to work, they have no passion for what they are doing. They treat patients as if though they are doing us a favor by helping us. The photos give you a good frontal few. Good security and paid parking. Unfortunately too little parking spots for such a large hospital. Patients and visitors park at the EL Steyn doctors rooms parking lot. This hospital is ultra modern with quality decor and equipment. Large counter with booths for booking in patients. Staff wearing uniforms for a professional look. In my experience I never had to wait long. Close to the front office there is a small canteen and gift shop. The navigation to different sections are difficult. I often had to ask a staff member for directions. There is radiology and pathology services. The pharmacy is big, really big on the top floor of the building. Floors are clean. Security tight. The hospital is also strict on keeping to visitor hours. Make sense. A Patient must rest and not bothered by another patients visitors. Plenty suites with mostly 4 beds. Modern beds. New bedding. Cabinets for personal items. TV for every bed with control. You have to wear earphones. As a patient I found the medical staff qualified and proffient. Toilet and bath facilities in every room with emergency buttons should you need assistance. Specialist visits every day with clear instructions to medical staff. The catering is done by another company... for hospital food it is not boring and bland. Well, it is my opinion. There are a lot more to mention but considering my extensive experience of being a patient and visitor it safe to say that the Clinton Hospital is a top class facility.

My daughter fell and she couldnt put pressure on her leg. so i took her to the casualty ward on Sunday the doctor on duty checks her ankle and has X-rays done on the ankle. he does not how ever bother to examine the foot to check where the source of pain originates from as my daughter clearly indicated that she does not have pain on the ankle. i get home and it is explained by an under grad Bio-kinetics student that the injury is to the 5th metatarsal bone due to the possibility of a tear in the tendons or a possible stress fracture to the 5th metatarsals. She was in awe that my daughter had been examined by a qualified Doctor NOT ONLY WAS THE FOOT WAS EXAMINED AT THE WRONG PLACE, A USELESS X-RAY WAS TAKEN.Wow, i guess times have moved on and you have to go to the hospital knowing what condition you are suffering from, not for the qualified doctors to investigate and diagnose your issues! The Visit to Nectcare Clinton casualty unit was a waste of my time and a rip off of my medical aid funds.

I had to address this to nurse to as every time they checked the drip they did not notice the swollen hand. After not eating or drinking nearly 24 hours when I came out of surgery all I want was a cup of coffee which I requested. I had to get out of bed after 1 hour of surgery to go to the coffee shop to buy one. When discharged the next morning had to go and get my scripted medication upstairs which took almost an hour to receive them. Sitting with Hemaroids surgery was not pleasant. I pre admitted on Sunday to get Plasma treatment on Monday. My logic told me that obviously the plasma needs to be ordered for me to get it. That is why I went there on Sunday to arrange and that the hospital knew about me. The lady at admissions even phone around to arrange this. She said the Doctor will be in later in Sunday and then they will speak to him as the Plasma needs to come from Union hospital. it made sense. And I assumed they would arrange everything. Just before I was discharge someone came to me and said my admission file was not completed correctly that is why nobody knew what to do. Whos mistake is that? I mean how many must I explain myself to everyone?I booked in Yesterday morning just before 6h00. From the time I was admitted I had so many coming to my bed asking me whats suppose to be happening to me. And I asked so many times when is my treatment going to start. By 13h00 I just had it. I was discharge by 14h00 without treatment.Discovery gave 1 day auth and the plasma is suppose to be over 5 days. yesterday after 13h00 everyone finds that out.The problem is no one knew what to do as to what the procedure for plasma is. After all the misunderstandings and running around it was sorted and realised that firstly they needed to take blood before plasma can be ordered. They took twice yesterday. Its scary that no one knew what to do.All that has to be moved to 2 weeks from now. My worry is how will it be treated this time? Surely someone needs to look at admissions and see if everything is in place for the patients that was admitted. Even with me trying to get it place was useless by going a day earlier. It did not help and made no difference.Even IF the Doctors rooms doesnt arrange the medical aid auth at least they must communicate the treatment with the hospital as well. The letter was written on the 10 of Feb for treatment on 22 Feb. And still know one knew anything. And so I just waste time and everyone just classify me as a difficult patient and that makes me even more upset.Regards Shanine
