A lovely rustic spot off the beaten track set in a beautiful garden overlooking the river. The food was top notch with vegetables grown in the restaurants own garden. Food was served in a very timely fashion. Although mostly a meat lovers selection of food, they do provide delicious vegetarian options. Friendly owners. Would visit again.
Lovely views overlooking the river but the entrance and parking area could be more looked after, quite untidy. The owners were very friendly and I love that the veggies served to guests come straight from their garden. Having already eaten, we only came for coffee and drinks, which we did enjoy. The menu prices for locals is very expensive, with the cheapest meal being R100 for a vegetarian dish. Neighbouring restaurants are cheaper, but if youre after homegrown veggies, this is the place.
Great place. Go there for a meal, or stay! We had 9 vegetables with our kudu steak. Stayed for 3 nights. Bird spotting was awesome.
Absolutely beautiful !Great foodAwesome staffWell worth the trip x
We thoroughly enjoyed our kudu steak with fresh home grown veg dinner for two while watching the sun set across the valley and finished off with a truly awesome lemon cheesecake. A lovely valentines dinner in a beautiful setting. Thank you so much Janine and staff
Amazing experience with brilliant food. Soooo tasty
My personal favourite restaurant in South Africa. It is actually a barn. But they set it up so nicely and with a beautiful view over the river. When you enter the restaurant, you actually walk through the garden and see the veggies you gonna eat. Awesome! The owners are lovely people. You immediately feel like at home with Mum and Dad. There is even a sofa with TV where you can sit with them and watch football. The dessert was wicked - be warned - you will be addicted.I had a Kudu steak - very nice experience as well. We ate here twice (lunch and dinner) and had a great time!
Simple delicious food! Every element is in its pure essence. Loved the view on river, bird flying over and great view on the stars!
Had home grown veggies. And what a juicy huge fillet steak cooked to perfection.
Highly recommended place to go - if you are in the region: more than just friendly owners, fresh own-garden grown food & a “feels-like-coming-home” atmosphere!!! Looking forward to coming back. Cheers
If you are in Add this is a must visit. Only the view would be worth it (arrive on time for an awesome sunset), but the rest does warrant a visit either. The food is good. You can eat game meat like Kudu or Wildebeest and it is accompanied by a lot of vegetables from the own garden. The two hosts are really friendly ladies and they have created a cool decor with a mix of old furniture and accessories.
This place serves really great food. I had the ostrich steak... Done to perfection! Served with a medley of FRESH veggies!
Nice place to sit, lekker food and a friendly staff
Great food. The massive selection of garden fresh vegetables are awesome!!!!
Really good food - game we had never tasted - with delicious home grown veg in a lovely setting with friendly owner!! Highly recommended if you are in the area
What an amazing place. Friendly and fresh overlooking the river... Definitely will be back.
This place has a very relaxed atmosphere in peaceful settings. The food feels very whole and real, you can see exactly what veg you are getting and the portion sizes are very generous. The owner was our server and was very kind. Entree prices run into the low R100s.
Closed until October.
This is just the best restaurant we‘ve been to. They are growing everything in the garden, which is just awesome. Had the beef & kudu. Both fantastic. Go there. Ignore the other restaurants!!!
Very nice industrial style restaurant with great view. Restaurant serves their own veggies (every restaurant should learn from). Love this place. Must see in Addo if in holiday. Wines are ok. Some special wines would finish this place
Tranquil setting. Comfortable accommodation, that is tastefully decorated. Value for money.
Just finished an amazing dinner here! This place has only been opened up for about 6 months but already has stolen our hearts and stomach! Had the kudu steak which was great with a plate full of vegetables fresh out of their own herbs and veg garden. Stunning sunset view overlooking the river. Owners are very friendly too! definitely worth a visit for dinner or even lunch when you pop in and out of Addo national park!
An exceptional restaurant off the beaten track serving the freshest foods. Highly recommend it!!!
Fantastic place. Great location, outstanding food (especially the tomato soup and salad from the garden) and very friendly hosts. Big recommendation!
Great place and fresh food....friendly owner....highly recommended
Nice place with the most delicious fresh food we had so far in South Africa. A dinner we will for sure remember! Thanks!
What a great find ! Amazing location next to the river and delicious freshly prepared food. Lots of healthy options. Most main dishes are meat and local veggies from their garden, but good vegetarian/ vegan options.
Place does not exist anymore
What a fantastic place! Run by a lovely lady, this place is beautiful, has absolutely stunning location, and the food is not only delicious but was also presented very nicely. All veggies come from the home garden. Super clean toilets. This a a absolute must while visiting Addo.
Delicious food and amazing place to go
Food and service was absolutely fantastic. Thanks so much for it!
The best Restaurant that we hav.
Very good food. Nice location and kind staff.
Fantastic food, delectable veggies and friendly service. Top notch in Addo.
Wonderful food, especially the veg!! Great hosts and amazing views. recommended!
Delicious food; the veg is fresh from the garden outside the front of the restaurant!
Great fresh veggies, awesome vibe, Brilliant sunset
Very nice place. The food is excellent 👌👌
Awesome eat there once a week.
Home from home very good basil good night
Food was good only it was really cold inside
Wonderfully fresh food and friendly staff
Waited and waited and waited..................75 minutes to prepare a wrap with a couple of strips of chicken and a bunch of lettuce.
Amazing food, host and views at sunset!
Fantastic
Will be back
The service is a disaster. Waiting for food for over 90 minutes. It does not matter if the food was good. So who wants to eat there should already plan two hours. Honestly why does it take so long until I have my food and the store was not even full. Since I really do not care if you think it is all fresh from the garden gehohlt. Thats food is fine, but wait for over 90 minutes, no thanks.
Rarely eaten so well and relatively cheap! Super attentive and nice service. We had 3 courses and everything came quickly to the table. We can not complain about the waiting time. The food was really great.
We have been there several times. And we were never disappointed! The meat was super delicious and the fresh vegetables also fit wonderfully. We were very satisfied and can recommend it to anyone who comes through Addo. In addition, the view with the sunset is an extra plus!
Delicious vegetarian plate, large portions and friendly staff! Vegetables from own cultivation (one runs directly through the vegetable garden in the restaurant). Great to sit outside, beautiful location at sunset.
This restaurant is quite remote and you wouldnt stop by by accident. Unless you happen to come by. And then this awaits you here: A kind of farm with a beautiful vegetable and herb patch. The restaurant has a beautiful view and the food tastes so incredibly fresh and good. The vegetables taste like they have just been picked fresh from the garden. The spinach was the best Ive had so far. And the meat is very good too. That explains the long wait for food, which can easily be bridged by drinking a glass of wine and taking a look at the courtyard.
Maybe Mrs. Müllen has no taste buds, every vegetable has its taste and it is nicely done. A simple eatery where home-grown vegetables are processed. Nice location with river view, nice owner, simple, rustic ambience. The Gnu Steak tender and cooked to perfection. Price / performance is right. Happy again .👍😻
Exceptional restaurant in an old hall. Beautiful location overlooking a river. The menu is also different than usual. A lot of different vegetables on the plate and a delicious piece of wild beast. The Malva pudding as a dessert is almost a must.
A wonderful family restaurant. Fresh vegetables, potatoes, sweet potato with nicely prepared meat. The guest ladies / cooks are very concerned about their guests. Highly recommended!
Just fantastic. A casual and very personal atmosphere with excellent vegetables from our own garden! Meat in many types, from ostrich to short ... really great!
Super restaurant based on vegetables from the garden and original meats in an atypical setting. If you are going to visit the Addo Elephant Park you must eat in this place.
Very nice place with friendly people
Everything cooked together. No taste. Worst food we have had in the last 3 weeks.
So much delicacy 🤩
Yes, you can go.
Very fresh and tasty! We recommend. Definitely worth a detour as a Addo visitor
Delicious food, home-grown vegetables and fruit, nice and attentive staff.
Warm welcome and nice decor. On the menu: kudu, ostrich, wildebeest and vegetables from the garden. A delight !
Charming hostess and excellent cook the lady who is in charge of the place. We were the only four diners on a cold winter afternoon. He awaited us prior reservation by recommendation and made by our knowledgeable travel agent Phil Rendel of Where it all began agency. In 20 minutes he prepared and served two dishes of rabbit, wildebeest and duck with a generous accompaniment of fresh steamed vegetables collected from his own garden. We were finally able to savor a very rare Cabernet Sauvignon and not to the taste of South African palates it seems. The lemongrass water just taken from the garden gave the aromatic touch to the richest bassative that I have ever served. ¡Grandioso! / Great place run by a wonderful host the lady who cooks and is in charge of this original place. Just four of us where there that night. Booked in advance and recommended by our knowgeable travel agent Phil Rendel from Where it all began agency. In 20 minutes she prepared and served rabbit, wildebeast and duck with assorted steam vegetables all picked up from her own garden. Surprisingly we had our first bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon here! Not very popular in South Africa up to then. Lemongrass picked up in front of our eyes made the most flavored and tasty herbal infusion I ever had! Superb!
Very nice place with delicious food👍👍👍
