The operating times on Google for the restuarant here is wrong. The lady is very helpful but the coffee is really not nice and the pancakes are pricey considering you only get 1 pancake (just under R40 for 1 cinnamon sugar pancake)... sadly not worth it.

Went here looking forward to an authentic Dutch experience and was deeply disappointed.The only thing Dutch about this place is its parsimony.The espresso was barely drinkable and, worst of all, the Berry Pancake was an overly priced single, undercooked, crêpe with cheap berry jam (and not a berry in sight).Definitely not value for money and so far from a Dutch experience, it might as well be Afrikaans.The owners responses to those who leave bad reviews speaks volumes about how customers are viewed.

Food is very tasty and well presented. Owners are super awesome. Dont be in a rush here...Worth the wait!

Was at this place long ago. But cannot recommend it EVER. Rene a Dutch old man, the owner very abrupt and refused to wear a mask was rather rude and his wife Mary Ann was not prepared to make us pancake told we must wait two hours as they too busy. We were leaving because they justified them not wearing massive!! The rooms ok with fireplace but we had to buy our own wood we were told the evening late! Shops were closed. Food Saturday afternoon was mediocre and the omelet the next morning was RAW and terrible. No bacon as on their menu!! They are TOO old to run this place anymore. No waiters the two of them do EVERYTHING the food and serving clients. O no, please find yourself other accommodation if you want to visit yzerfontein. Yzerfontein definitely is not wonderful and not to be recommended in any case. No need to be confronted with such RUDENESS!! And we did NOT FEEL WELCOME.

What a great find in Yzerfontein on a Monday!!...we just popped in for cappuccinos..but couldnt resist the very delicious Dutch pancakes..and as my friend is Dutch....she and Renė had a wonderful chat....and there is a B&B attached....next time it will be for a meal😋😋....but do call beforehand as Renė is very often travelling.....

Best rooms... clean,spacious,welcoming and tidy. Restaurant has an amazing breakfast and the dinner I had was sublime. Best Bitterbollen everything!! The owners, Mary Ann and Rene are simply fantastic.

The host was amazing enough to open the restaurant just for us, on a public holiday. The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy. A definite must if you are in Yzerfontein!

Friendly Dutch host and his wife. We were well taken care of by them. The restaurant is decorated with many items of their history and they are happy to share all the tales with you if you have the time for it. The beds are very comfy with electrical blankets and new pillows. The food is also very good. We had the butter fish, lamb shank, and sole in the group and each one was very happy with their choice.

Joie de vivre is the term I would use to describe René and Mary-Ann Boschs. And it shines through in their lovely West Coast-styled accommodation and the towns top-rated restaurant. I made new friends that showed me what true hospitality is. Renés vibrant and bubbly personality is contagious. When in Yzer, you just have to pop in.It was n privelage to share your dream, albeit only for one day

What an overwhelming experience! A warm, cozy restaurant that serves authentic dutch cuisine cooked perfectly. The food was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed every single bite from the starter to the dessert. Rene, the owner, is a brilliant host and his stories and sense of humor really made the evening even more memorable.

The owners are so welcoming and such fun. The restaurant was quiet so we received individual attention. Rene and Miriam are great hosts and the food was delicious! With a Dutch influence, it was something different

Excellent food and coffee

These amazing people, cooked a fabulous 2 course meal and delivered it to my elderly parents for my moms 79th birthday. They did this during stage 3 of lockdown. They had no staff, they did this alone, to help me give my mom a memorable birthday. Not only was the meal scrumptious and beautifully plated, they went a step further, and sang happy birthday for my Mom. Huge cudos to Kaijaiki and its amazing owners.

It depends on what you are looking for. The accommodation is your usual coastal type of rooms, neat tidy and presentable. The food is good and you are a short walk from the beach, which is always a draw-card. It gives one the chance to get away from your daily grind. Always great to get that break.

The food was divine. Unfortunately we were seated in the sterile coffee shop. The restaurant proper has tons of atmosphere, but there was no fire to make it habitable for the few patrons on the day.
