What a little Gem hidden in White River near the Baghdad center. Magnolia has old world charm, tasty meals, and delicious cocktails. The atmosphere is everything you would want for a romantic night out. The manager and waitress were very accommodating, polite and friendly and we dident feel rushed to get in and get out. The service is what you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. Try the 3 hour slow roasted lamp shank in a rich gravy served with mash, roasted carrots and caramelized onions and The chicken espetada with shoestring fries and lime dressing, we also had a well made Pina Colada and a very boozy Cosmopolitan. Dessert looked delicious but the main meals were so filling. Ask about the specials, Magnolia is definitely well known for their seafood selection and they have a full spread of sushi on offer. I dont recommend this as a place to take children and would say the few children that were there slightly ruined it for the adults trying to have a lovely evening. Will definitely be back soon.

A very relaxed and clean place with tasty food

A lovely place. Great food and friendly helpful staff. We were a large group of 9 adults and a three year old toddler. Tables were moved and we were served quickly and all food arrived in quick succession. Waitress was attentive without being intrusive throughout our meal. The splitting of the bill was also handled efficiently. Would love to come back in future.

Visited White River for an oil painting 3 day get-away, it was food for the soul. We used Magnolia restaurant outdoor area as our base and it was great, we lunched there every day and the food was good. The artsy centre attached is filled with wonderful shops but due to current covid circumstances was very quiet.

The food is delicious and the ambiance perfect. Really enjoy dining out here. Breakfast lunch or dinner the restaurant does a wonderful presentation and outstanding flavor and quality. Thank you!

Wow!! Awesome food, friendly staff

It was a disappointment from when we entered, there were waitresses but didnt pay attention to us, until a guy that served us came and showed us our table. Was disappointed with the unprepared reserved table. They had only placed three wine glasses on the side of the table. More chairs on the table. The table cloth wasnt changed in between customers which had some sauces spilled, hence they didnt use white. The childs food was served with everyones, who doesnt know you start with the child. We went there thinking its fine dining and it would be a perfect place to celebrate my sisters birthday. The food was okay and thank you for the complimentary cake slice for the birthday girl. Ooh lovely music too.

My granadila juice was warm and they skimp on ice. The service is good and so is the ambiance.

Had a really great tuna handroll with generous quantity of Kikoman and pickled ginger on the side.Magnolia is always a winner!

Sun 5 SeptSpecifically mentioned to waitress we normally prefer a halaal menu however we opted for the meditarranean omeletWhen it was served it had slices of pork sausage in.Miscommunication on our part or the waitress surely a person in the restaurant business should know what halaal is & advise patrons on their orderThankfully we were not billed for pork omelets

The food is amazing. Especially the Beef Fillet Carpaccio. The waiters know how to serve you with style and they are very friendly. The Maitre d’ is all over, keeping the waiters on their toes, he is doing a very good job.We had a lovely evening. This place is very romantic and chic. The food is amazing.

We made a booking for 6 people and the person who answered the phone said the restaurant closes at 8:30pm. This was not true as other customers arrived after 9pm and were served dinner. The waiter, Justine, was not friendly. He took a long time to bring our drinks. When he finally brought our drinks, he didn’t even take our food orders. He didn’t check if we needed anything or to ask if we enjoyed the menu. The restaurant was not even full. Our food came cold and it took a long time to arrive. The sushi was salty. When I asked to speak to the manager, Vusi, only apologised on the waiter’s behalf and that was it!

Love this place. Spacey but cosy too, well sheltered from the heat, with fantastic misters when it’s really hot. Food is always spot on, and salads in particular are loaded with proteins. Ordered a takeaway and they happily helped carry it to my car rather than let me make two trips. Also has free WiFi, a bit on the slow side but it works.

Excuisite food, best service!

Went to the restaurant for my birthday in November and also stayed at the hotel. The service was good, but the food was not. Lamb shank for dinner lacked flavor, and eggs benedict for breakfast had toast which tasted like it had been soaked in vinegar. Definitely not planning a second visit.

Delicious food. Good atmosphere. Had a steak and a draught - which Ill recommend. The little pizza as appetizer is a good tough and delicious as well. Friendly and helpful staff - even willing to make a change to the preparation of a meal when asked. Good service goes a long way.

The food was exceptional. Six of us had different main courses and all were delicious. My pork belly dish was the tastiest dish I have had in a while, and my husband loved his prawn linguine. This restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and the staff were friendly. Give it a try!

The manager came and asked if we are comfortable, and the waiters was friendly!The reason I give them 4 starts, the manager asked us to review the restaurant on their website, but this proved to be a difficult task.But all else, perfect place for a quite dinner!

My favourite fine dining restaurant, love it so much that we chose to get married there. Great atmosphere and fantastic service with leading class dishes. A must try if you havent!

Waited 2 hours for our food only to be told after 1 and a half hours that they have no lamb curry. We were also told that they had no chicken. Our steaks were raw when we asked for medium to well done. The manager came and apologised for our experience and only charged us for drinks.

Over all not bad for a family lunch or dinner. The food is good and well price.They have a fantastic upstairs loft area though, nice spot for baby showers and kitchen teas or other small intimate events.

The lamb curry was good but the lamb shank was overcooked and the menu said the lamb shank came with caramelized onion but we got green peppers - not good. Deserts were tasty.

One of the best restaurants I have been to in South Africa. Everything was perfect, from service over taste and wine.Even the way they handled my cold food was textbook-like: food. After I told the waiter, I received a new plate almost immediately. Later the cook came to apologise - thats a real rarity!

Our international travelling friends who have eaten at many places all over the world rated this right up there as one of the best theyve eaten at. We had a superb meal last night, top service from our waiter Basil and great wine list.

20 June 2016. Im glad for the good reviews; our experience was a huge disappointment. We had chicken breasts on rye, topped with mozzarella. The rye was hard, and the chicken pieces the size of the base of a tea cup. You could see they had been pounded flat. The mozzarella was quite congealed and cold. I also pointed out to the waiter that half the chips were half-cooked. Sorry, but well give Magnolia a wide berth in future.
