All that glitters isnt gold.Make no mistake, the setting is stunning, and the grounds are meticulously kept. But the management are inhospitable.Friends of mine had their wedding here on Monday, and we stayed the night at the manor house. Management didnt ask if the couple were satisfied, but cut the power at the reception 2 hours early. Breakfast the next day was served late and cold. The cashier was irritable when we went to settle our bills. Need I say more?The waitstaff and ground staff are friendly, but give you the impression that they are anxious and that their deference is due to how they are treated by management.To the proprietors: I wanted to like your establishment. You can do better, if youll just treat your guests with dignity. Each patrons money is as green as the next.

Attended a wedding at this venue yesterday and the venue was really lovely but I wont recommend this place to anyone because the service we received from management at Au D Hex was really bad. Im very big on customer service and having the opportunity to give places I visit 4 or 5 stars but because I was so disappointed with the lack of service I received and experienced throughout my stay its sad that this is the level of service we received for such an memorable day/eventwedding day. Im in customer service and I will never treat anyone the way we were treated. Im disgusted that this is how we were treated. Im writing this rewiev because I need you to know that its not okay to treat anyone like this because the groom and bride paid for excellent service that we should have received but didnt.To top that we were a group of over 20+ people that had breakfast the morning after the wedding at the venue and my egg was raw and runny, my bacon was so hard I couldnt cut with my knife and my whole plate of food was cold. Im extremely disappointed especially because this was my first time coming to Au D Hex. Im definitely not recommending your venue to anyone.

It is disappointing to say the least that I have to write this review, considering this venue being such a beautiful place.From the day of our site visit with the bride and groom to the very end of the wedding day, we’ve experienced poor treatment from this venue. We weren’t too sure if they were unhappy about the colour of our skin or if it was that the couple brought in vendors to assist on their wedding day. From unfriendliness, to cutting power plugs while setting up, dictating how we should do our job and later cutting the venue power while our DJ was playing his set and the list goes on. This was by far the worst we’ve experienced as a supplier! I do hope you do better because this is utterly unacceptable!We unfortunately will not recommend this venue to anyone because of the service you’ve provided.

Lets call a spade a spade, beautiful venue, however if you are a coloured or black person stay far away! Racism is real! Ask Lariska shell tell you all about it. From shutting down our lights and power 2 hours before the time, to no communication, to not even coming out to check to see if we, the bridal couple, are happy on our wedding day. Lariska, you did an amazing job at ruining our day, thanks for nothing!....clown!One of the owners wouldnt even greet, instead give us dirty looks because we probably arent the rightcolour - ask their workers how unhappy they are at the venue/the four star estate are too.My plea to you all is stay far, far away from these people. They are terrible! We no longer live in the old South Africa, times have changed! Get with the program!

The Au d Hex Estate management and staff are super friendly and easy to work with. Setup could not have been any easier thanks to their guidance and cooperativeness. We cannot thank you enough for allowing us to play our part in creating a special occasion. It goes without saying that we are excited to work with you for seasons to come!

This is an absolutely beautiful place to spend time. Lariska, the host is accommodating to a fault. Nothing is too much trouble. There is a platform on a small dam for ceremonies as well as a fully glass enclosed area.

Very good service, peaceful atmosphere. Its a beautiful venue. Food great but creme brulee was more like creme caramel. Not crispy top. Everything else makes up for it though.

Beautiful setting. Loved all the rose bushes, it was just stunning. Stunning wedding venue, with a lovely deck overlooking the dam. Food was amazing. The lambshanks was perfectly prepared. There was enough food for all the guests as well.

Fabulous Sunday Picnic with Champagne and lots of lovely eats. A great place to spend a leisurely Sunday. Live music! Had a fantastic time!!!!

We had a very laid back picnic here on a Sunday with live music and the option of ordering pizzas or picnic baskets.We sat on beautiful furniture under stunning trees and time flew past so quickly.The garden is well kept and the running water canals gives a tranquil feel.Rest rooms is beautifully decorated.The new look restaurant is not my style but the food has always been good here.If you stay over I heard the decor is beautiful and the views from here out of this world.Timeless venue🤗🤗

I played a function here, and enjoyed it tremendously! The helpful staff, and manager on duty went out of their way to cater to everyones needs! The facilities were excellent and the food complimented the whole experience very nicely! 5 star service and rating!!!

A beautiful, yet old Cape Dutch style boutique hotel perfect for weddings as the scenery and surroundings are magical. The staff were all very friendly & helpful too.

You come and enjoy the food and wine and music under the trees. The most relaxing day in months. Jy

I do not know!For someone that usually has a lot of words, I am at a loss for words to describe Au dHex, its people and its service.Au dHex has everything any person can dream of. A lovely decorated boutique hotel, with class finesse and a superb setting. It has fantastic trained personnel.The atmosphere is calming and luxurious.The restaurant and chef and personnel are well equipped and trained. The managers, both of the venue and the boutique hotel are always ready to assist and extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you!We booked out the entire facility for a weekend. This proved to be an excellent decision. I would strongly recommend future guests consider the same.Thank you Charney, Alette, Priority and team!
