What a lovely restaurant and bar. Friendly management and staff made me feel welcome. Interesting menu. I can certainly recommend the chilly poppers. Pizza was great. Energetic yet noninvasive service by all staff. My glass was always full.

R200 for an overcooked tough steak. Nope used to be a fine dining experience. Wont go back. On your feedback the manager would change it yes but that would have taken yet another hour...

Wonderful atmosphere and AMAZING food. Its an all-in one experience. However, I was extremely disappointed when the host approached me and told me to cover up while breastfeeding my 1 year old. This immediately turned my experience sour and completely ruined my birthday lunch on Saturday. I asked her to provide me with this Condition in writing or provide proof that its a company policy and all I got was a blank stare. It was atleast 35 degrees outside, I really dont understand how it could possibly be expected that I will cover a baby (who understands nothing) with a blanket. I have never felt so humiliated and harassed when all I was trying to do was have a relaxed afternoon out. Its a really nice place to visit with friends and family but I unfortunately have to take it off my list of places to go entirely if Ill be made to feel inhumane for feeding my child.

The food was delicious, Im just sad I couldnt eat more. It has an amazing atmosphere and was just all in all a really enjoyable experience and I will definitely repeat it. The pizzas are top-notch and the chicken strips come with such a delicious sauce that I will definitely order it again.

It is a really nice restaurant. The service was great and the food was excellent. I would recommend eating pizza or pasta, but their steak is also to die for. Personally I found the lighting to be a bit dark, but some may even prefer that.

Best pizza in Vanderbijlpark, by some distance. And I should know. Ive tried most of them. Foresta, seafood, Quattro Stagioni all excellent. And if youre into that type of thing, they make a mean Mexicana as well.

We ordered a few starters off the bar menuThe pork belly was horrid and the chicken livers had a fishy taste to it. This left me, my sister and my grandmother with food poisoning. I honestly believe a restaurant that prides themselves for good service and an overall experience should attend to these short comings.

From entering the establishment all protocols for Covid are taken care for, was greeted by very friendly hosts and waiters, was also greeted by beautiful smells from the kitchen and the pizza oven(wood burning) so my mind was set on pizza and this did not disappoint and every last slice was devoured...Next meal will definitely be the tomahawk🙏 Great ambience and lovely music...Will be back soon

My Experience was Alright not impressed , Portion size of pasta was small and they used a Slanted bowl to Disguise size , Flavor was Good and All of a sudden you need to make A Reservation to Sit inside area so we had to Sit Outside.

Was at Black Forrest with my husband last night. Although the food and service was excellent as usual, they charge ridiculous amounts for drinks. We paid for one very small tomato cocktail juice R60!(no alcohol was added, as Im pregnant)Just to put that into perspective: At Spar you pay less than R50 for a whole 1 litre of tomato juice. Black Forrest should be ashamed of themselves for robbing their customers of so much money. We walked out with bill of R700. At Horse and River restaurant, we paid R400 for the same amount of food and drinks. Please Black Forrest, reconsider your drinks prices again!

The service was excellent..warm and welcome, other than that it was average, the eisbien was burnt, the pizza was ok, our table was moved twice cause the roof leaked due to the rain. Bread sticks took 30min to arrive.

Good quality food, calm atmosphere. No play area for children. They offer sushi as well. Nice place for a date or special dinner. Not entirely family friendly. But cozy romantic spot.

The food here is always brilliant, especially their fillet steaks are fantastic. The service is usually spot on, although we have had one or two bad evenings. Usually sorted out very quickly if you speak to a manager, so cant really fault the restaurant itself.

Nothing to say except you get what you pay for. The food here is second to none. Service is always great and if any pronlems occur the managers handles it great and with respect to the customer. For a date night or even just a romantic evening with your significant other this place is perfect.

Service was good. The Gorden blue was very nice. The eishbein was the worst Ive had in my life. Wednesday special but will never eat it again. That made that I will think twice before I go to them again. First and last time.
