Tonight was our first night visiting Great White House Restaurant , and it was PHENOMINAL! I couldnt have asked for a better place to celebrate an anniversary . It was the most peacefull dine I have ever experienced in this town , not to mention the above and beyond good food. Well done to you and your amazing staff . My face will be seen A LOT more now . Thank you soooo much !!

One of the best restaurants Ive ever been to. Amazing food. Amazing Service, and the staff are very friendly. There is a few skeletons on the roof of whales and dolphins, with an interesting story behind them that is told in the menu. There is also a few remains of the sunken Birkenhead ship. Would highly recommend to anyone near the Gansbaai area.

Great atmosphere for a peaceful breakfast ambience . Very healthy portions and great layout. Would definitely go back should I be in the area again.

Lovely lazy Saturday breakfast at the Great White - yummy French toast and perfect poached eggs. Alex our server was very attentive. Really enjoyed the art work by Floris van Zyl of Franschhoek. Wonderful location for a meal.

The great white is really great! As you walk in there is a huge Skelton whale above you to see.Not to mention the environment is amazing. Service is also excellent. I would recommend getting penguin reserve. As a portion of the payment goes towards the reserve.Hope you have a good time.

Generally pleasant experience, but I was so disappointed. I ordered a baked camembert (R80) but received a pretty cocktail roll with some camembert melted inside - seriously false advertising.

🐳🐳 Actually I booked a boatbased whale watching tour by Dyer Island Cruises.But due to poor weather conditions (too windy) on 3 running days, no opportunity, despite the staff did it`s best and they were very helpful and kindly. Anyway so I could enjoy the Great White House from inside and got some lekka coffee.I know, Dyer Island Cruises and Ivanhoe Sea Safaris are simply the best in the Cape.Bye the way, I finally got my tour by Ivanhoe, because they didn`t get so much isssues with the weather , perhaps they are more wind protected.

Our family had Delicious soup and bread served by a delightful hostess. Very pleased after a early morning boating trip. Great way to warm ourselves both inside and out.

We came in very close to kitchen closing time and although we only wanted coffee they offered to keep the kitchen open if we needed anything to eat, supper friendly and helpfull. We bought some souvenirs at the shop and it was placed in the most environmentally friendly bag that was made locally. Eating beneath a sceleton of a whale was interesting.

What can we say!! What a surprize! Amazing food!!!! Please visit when you are close!

Looked on Facebook and saw that you had roosterkoek from 10:30. Especially phoned in to ask if you are selling today and the gentleman said from 11:00. Got to the restaurant and the guy by the fire said he only has orders. Went inside and asked if there is roosterkoek and the waitress said that she will look if there is dough and she never came back to me.... Slow service and bad attitude. Not a nice experience.

Excellent foodService very good

From what i am told this is the place for shark cage diving and thus popular with tourists. Our experience was nice. Food was good service was nice and friendly the place is historic and well worth a visit so many new things if you havent been there go.

Looks small from the outside but its actually huge. Has a wonderful area at the back (garden) where you can eat and children can play on the jungle gym. Has a bar area inside as well as indoor dining. Our waiter, Clifford, was very helpful and fast service. Definitely recommend.

Loooove the GWH. Amazing quality food, fine dining experience that doesnt break the bank. Also great for groups and conferences. The Chef knows his stuff- flavours pop!!! responsible supply of seafood. And the freshest veggies straight from the garden!

What is not to live about this place? Aside from the very welcoming atmosphere and delicious food, it is a great place for teaching. Bring your kids and teach them about history with all the shipwreck artifacts (the majority from the Birkenhead), biology with the skeletons of dolphins and of a Southern Right whale hanging overhead, and marine conservation with any amount of information on hand. A real treasure of a place!

Beautiful place to visit, very authentic with the whale skeleton hanging from the roof, I have been here many times, the food is reliable and good, the service can be challenging, the staff is trying their friendly best but please be prepared for slow food... The staff is always apologetic but it will need your patience. This time round the serviced expired beer, ala Covid stock, not once but twice, I explained to the bar tender who happily changed for something else without charging, not sure if management perhaps told him to get it out or did not train him with regards to not serving old beer, this did spoil it a bit, but I still like the place and will go back, just be a little more careful and trying to be patient...

If you want to visit a place of perfection with the most impeccable service, food and ambiance, then you MUST visit the Great White House restaurant in Kleinbaai. And if you wish to stretch your memories and imagination to the limits, you MUST go out on one of their boats, either Whale Watching or Shark Cage Diving. Unforgettable experience that you will NEVER forget and the euphoria thereof remains with you a long time thereafter. Place of your Dreams! Also follow up on the amazing research and projects this company excels in with research on all marine life and birds and how they reach out and touch everyone in our community. The only reason I rated it 5 star is for the waiters service and decor/venu. This was the second time we have been there, and again we waited almost 2hours(no jokes) for our food, the same as the last time the waiter did inform us that there are a waiting period for the food but to wait for 2hours is absolutely unacceptable, and this was not just us waiting there were a few tables. The service from the front of house was amazing and the manager on point. But I honestly think that the main thing and problem is in the kitchen, understaffed and slow! I really hope with our 3rd visit this problem will be solved.

Fabulous. The food is to die for. The service was very good - thank you Prince. My son had a delicious burger for a very reasonable R88. My other son had tasty calamari strips for a very reasonable R100. Quality food, in a beautiful restaurant. Nothing to fault. We wish to come back soon.

Beautiful setting. Good platters. Abalone was a bit tasteless whilst being very expensive (Shouldnt risotto it to keep the taste separate - consider requesting abalone schnitzel rather).

What an excellent place to stop in and relax at. The atmosphere was really nice and cosy. It wasnt too crowded and the fireplace just made it all the more welcoming on a chilly pre-winter morning.The food was very enjoyable. We had tender chicken strips and lekker chips. Milkshakes, coffee and beverages were all top drawer.The venue has various seating inside and out and caters for all tastes. Or waiter, Alex, have great service and was very friendly.Dont miss out. Of all the Gansbaai plekkies we went to, this was the one we will come back to again and again.

Great restaurant food (vegan options available), a comfortable atmosphere, and situated not far from the coast. The whale skeleton is worth seeing, and the gift shop next door is packed with interesting goodies.

First things first: Its best to make a booking rather than just pitching up there. The fish was exquisitely prepared and the chips, double fried, was great. The atmosphere was pleasant. Well worth a visit. Reading some of the reviews, we had some reservations about our reservation, but we were, honestly, pleasantly surprised.

Wow what a place. Service excellent. Friendly staff. A setting for each clientS preference - bar, garden (informal) inside seating area for more fine dining. Boat trips to big 5 of the ocean, to snorkling and greate white shark diving. Great introduction to sea wold life and the great white shark. Oh and do not forget the curio shop for.that special something

I loved it! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxing. Theres lots to see and more to do than I initially thought. History in one corner and a whales skeleton hanging from the ceiling with others... I really recommend The Great White House for a real ocean experience.

Bad service and stink attitude

They serve delicious food. Very friendly employees. They have an ideal location walking distance from the sea. There is a gift shop available with adorable little items. They offer tours out to go swim with the sharks. They have an ideal package for a family on vaction looking for an adventure.
