Terrible coffee used instant coffee powder to make a cappacino, service is slow and forgets your full order. The food is less than acceptable, bland and poorly exicuted. Stunning view though

Food was good and prepared fresh. Service from waiters also good. However litterally waited over an hour for the food to arrive. Place has good potential due to its location. It just needs abit of updating and some music to create an atmosphere or It could be opened up abit to expose the ocean views and hear the waves while eating.

Excellent hake and chips! But beware of the red bottle masquerading as tomato sauce - its actually the hot sauce. Tomato sauce is in a regular bottle.

I had the same large hake that the previous reviewed showed in his fotos. It was n very large juicy portion with the best greek salad and perfect fries, value for money!. The sea view is better than any other restaurant in the area!

1/10 would not recommend.. Extremely long waiting times, even when not busy, and could not comprehend a simple burger and milkshake.

Needs a bit of an upgrade (even if its just new plate mats), but they do have disabled parking & all staff were very pleasant. Views are brilliant and the view wasnt bad either! Id go back.

If it is sea food you are looking for, this is the place for you, they have some of the greatest specials in sea food and it is very delicious, you get a view of the umkomaas waves breaking on the rocks but a few meters away from you, if you are here at the right time you will also see boats getting launched, the parking is a bit small takes about 5 cars and once full you will Need to park a good 100 meters away. The food does take a while to be prepared on average if you visit this place do so when you are not in a hurry, the waiting is worth the while with the view unless you are a impatient person. Overall I enjoyed this place and the atmosphere, feels like a true local restaurant.

Its got the whole rustic feel going for it. Didnt have a whole lot of beer options but seafood basket was great. Staff friendly and reasonably priced

We ordered chicken and prawn curry and hardly had any prawns or chicken in the dish. Not flavourful at all. Seaviews are great but so should the food be. Waited over an hour for our food 😩 and then their card machine did not work luckily we had cash 🙃 they wont see us again👎

This is the closest you can get to the sea and enjoy your meal. Good value for money and a variety on the menu to suit all. Eisbein 10/10. Also enjoyed hake, chips and salad, chicken liver potjie and pizzas. Never disappointed. This is a must!!!

Venue that has a beautiful view. Service was good. I personally wouldnt use this place as a coffee atop place. Filter or sachet coffee which is quite overpriced. Chose also not to eat, although the rest of the family enjoyed their prawns. A venue for food and a good view.

Good view and nicely situated on the beach. Been there couple of years back and had a better experience then. Cocktails was not mixed well, snitchel was just okay but atleast the Mussels Pot was good.

Waves food is good! They are making an effort to produce quality meals for a good price. Service was fast and the atmosphere is tranquil. Book ahead of time for weekends as tables may not be open for walkins at peak times.

Its on the beach with a great view over the ocean, at the famous Aliwal Shoal. Food was adequate but the view is astonishing.

Milkshakes are okay, views fantastic didnt try the food.

Restaurant is right by the oceanfront....and the food was my personal favorite... seriously big portions packed with flavor! If you are into your alcoholic beverages their drinks menu is pretty impressive!!!

Best view on the South Coast with good food. A place to have your sundowners with friends. Watched the fishersman do their thing while sipping on a cold beer and hearing the waves break at your feet. A quaint charming place. This is the old South Coast as I remebered it from childhood.

If I could give them no stars, I would. Arrived at 11:05, ordered coffee and a toasted sandwich. Took a half hour to bring the coffee. Another couple arrived 20 minutes after us, got their drinks before we did. At 11:54 they got their food, we had still not got ours. Paid for the coffee and left, will not be back. Pathetic because they were not even busy, only 2 other couples there when we arrived.

Best eisbein Ive ever had!The meet was cooked to perfection, the glazing was perfect - it wasnt tough, but rather crisp, could peel pieces of meat away from the bone without having to use my knife.

You overestimate the value of your food. Your serving response is substandard. We had 3 beers before our toasted cheese was ready.....and we werent that thirsty.

Had a most delicious meal at The Waves on Umkomaas Beach on 22nd November 2020. Well worth a visit. Great service and friendly staff.

A rather unfriendly welcome from the manager who appeared very disinterested. We wanted to sit outside and he said just wait for somebody to leave. No invitation to have a drink at the bar while we waited. Eventually the patrons who were leaving an outside table invited us to take the table.Its clearly a popular venue, but totally understaffed. Servers were charming (Pearl and Victor) but the service and food preparation was very slow.Food was good, the location overlooking the sea is spectacular.The disinterest of the manager, however, was pervasive.

NIce family drive along the coast and some hungry tummies brought us to Waves Restuarant..Although the live entertainment was absolutely amazing the food was of very low standard and the service even worse..The server staff were also quite disinterested...I really wouldnt go there again... would much rather make a stop at one of the many other Umkomaas eateries.

The only good remark is the view. Eisbein was chargrilled , chips frozen precooked and old. Salad without a salad dressing. Dirty glass. Overalĺ cleaning very dissapointing. Waltress doesnt wear mask during pandemic, no temperature taken.
