The mild bunny had too much Tumeric. Im sure the cook is from India. I asked if the cook was local, was told yes. They advertise authentic durban curries. Its actually India curries. Big difference. Presentation was a joke

I would have given 5 stars but sadly, I was disappointed in the after service. This aint the 1st time but I brushed off the previous incident due to us sitting in n dining. Yesterday I purchased 3 breyanis n a qtr lamb bunnie for my kid.we waited for about 45 mins for the order. After getting home we decided to eat the breyani. We took out the required amt frm the container n then stored the remainder breyani s n the untouched bunnie in the fridge after it cooled down. Around 5 my kid wanted to eat. We took out the bunnie to warm,sadly it smelled awful n it was spoilt. Even the breyani turned sour. As stated to the owner/manager, its not about free food but about principal. I pay for something I want provided its worth it n worth while. I called this morning to say what had happened but was met with alot of negativity, pushing the blame on me. Stating that they still got curry from ystdy n can guarantee its not them. We ate frm d breyani as previously stated n I evn told her, I cnt say much abt d breyani cos we ate sum but as for the bunnie, it smells terrible. Unfortunately I had no joy, she eventually said to me that she wil replace the bunnie.sadly dear.. It was never about the free food but, I genuinely had an issue. I have now disposed off urls food cos I aint Goin2 cum al d way bk ther n mske it seem like I messed up n blaming u guys. I ate ther many times before so y wid I suddenly complain if I reali didnt have a prblm. I have alot of patients but as for me coming back ther wid, sometime, 20family members... I dont appreciate this behavior. Your customers make u and telling me others didnt complain doesnt justify my complaint. Jus BTW.. I made cheese toast with the other days mutton curry gravy n gues wat.. It tastes divine. I thought my method of storage was ur excuse for poor service. So frm me and 20 others.. Bye bye.

I am staying overnight in Durban on business and ordered takeout through Delivery Xtreme from DeMa. For R95 I expected more than 4 small pieces of chicken when I ordered the Grilled Chicken Tikka.Very disappointing.

Butter chicken bunny was very good. It had lots of chicken and excellent flavor. The garlic naan was also delicious. Im surprised by some of these poor reviews. We got there a few minutes before closing and they still let us in. Long story short the manager insisted we stay and eat in rather than take it to go. She was very kind. I would definitely come back here again.

HAD LUNCH WITH MY FAMILY AND THE EXPERIENCE WAS MOST UNPLEASANT. THE OWNER AND WAITRESS HAD EXTREME ATTITUDE. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANY PERSONS. FURTHER TO THIS IT SEEM TO BE AN EXTREMELY DODGY RESTAURANT.

TL;DR review: Not worth the price or time anymore.Ive been to De`ma several times now.The biggest problem with them is the wait time for food: expect to frequently wait close to an hour. I used to tolerate it because the food was exceptionally good. The price was only slightly more expensive than similar places.The last time I went, one of the meals was decent while the other was sub-par. One of the drinks were only slightly below average and the tea was terrible.

Ive only ever ordered the Broad Beans bunny from here. And I must say it is the best. A bit on the pricey side but the fact that I come back for it definitely says its worth it. Cant comment on the other items. Definitely recommend the BB bunny.

Ordered a lamb bunny as a takeout, was told the waiting time was 20min, only got it 40 mins later. It was definitely not a lamb bunny it was mutton!!! Highly disappointing and very deceitful. The curry had a sweet taste and wasnt very pleasant. Will not go back again.

Dont eat here, no one deserves such horrible treatment. First bad experience was with a large group of visitors. Every order was incorrect and tasteless. This time, i asked for a table for two. We were ignored for almost 15 minutes no one even noticed we walked out... Zero rating

First trip to Durban for my daughter so bunny chow it had to be. Ordered 3 different chows and had a lovely meal. My prawn chow was awesome and daughter enjoyed her butter chicken chow. Waiter explained everything about our meal and was very friendly.. didnt wait long for our food either.

Very pricey compared to other restaurants in their category.Mutton bunny is R99 and comes with only 3 pieces of meat.Service is of poor quality. Waitors rarely check up on customers.Their standards werent always like this, it has decreased recently.

Problem with social media is no balance this place has negative reviews. If I had read the reviews I would not have even gone on. I did not read them till after I ordered. Waitress was polite and efficient. Chicken Briyani arrived on time and very very tasty. Nan bread terrific. Everyone happy. Pricing on part. Plus it serves alcohol. Bonus.

What a disappointment. I ordered the mutton bunny for lunch today.The food had no flavour, there was so much turmeric in the food that my fingers turned yellow.The bunny came with 4 pieces of meat, two of it was basically bones.The meat was tough and stringy.Added to this disappointment, the bunny was delivered in a breyani polystyrene container… Why Dema?????I will never order food from this place again, for R89 a bunny (very pricey)Indian mother’s always say don’t throw food away, I am sorry mum but this needed to be in the bin.

The service at this place was below mediocre. The music was too loud and we could not hear the waitress and neither could she hear us.It didnt seem like they had enough staff for that day as when my drink was ready it was on the bar counter for 20 minutes until I told the waitress that I think my drink is ready. I had a Bombay crush which did not taste great, just tasted like overly sweetened milk with some frozen subja seeds.We only had starters as there werent many vegetarian main options which werent exorbitantly priced, I mean R75 for a quarter beans bunny, which judging by the taste of the starters wouldve probably not been worth our money.We had the aloo paratha and potato samoosas which came with a tomato sauce. The sauce was bland as well as the potato fillings so we requested chopped chillies on the side, to our dismay the chillies were tasteless as well.This was honestly a terrible experience and if you are looking for authentic Indian cuisine or even good food THIS IS NOT THE PLACE.Go somewhere else.

The food is delicious, the service takes a little while. On a Friday night we were asked to place our order whilst we waited outside the restuarant so before we got seated. The quarter mutton bunny is a drastically smaller than usual that you would get elsewhere and they are a little pricey. The lamb breyani is yummy!

I ordered a Mutton Breyani vid the Mr D app.It was the worst I had ever in my life!.They took normal rice with breyani dhall...mixed it with mutton curry and delivered to me!Im Indian and love a good mutton breyani but this is just a daylight robbery !God knows what else these guys are capable of doing behind our back! Stay away from the Indian Restuarant.To say the least, I’v had the most displeasing experience with the service.To start with the service, if any of you are aware of the Entertainer, it is an app that allows you to purchase one main meal, and in turn receive another meal of equal or less value for free. There are no restrictions on the Entertainer, but for some odd reason, De Ma in Gateway feel they have the right to place restrictions saying you may only purchase curries and you must make a booking before you come mentioning you’re using the Entertainer. Which is absolutely absurd. Their owner makes every effort to avoid confronting questions about the Entertainer. They make every effort to dishonor the voucher which leaves clients extremely dissatisfied, hence, myself.I will be taking this further to consumer watch and hello peter. This will be taken up further with De Ma’s themselves. I urge anyone reading this. Do not support a devious restaurant like De Ma.

Bought two mutton bunnies and one broad beans bunny. Horribly seasoned, the bean bunny was over salted. The meat was tough and stringy. The Bunnies were poorly wrapped and packed, the bunnies were compressed into Breyani polystyrene containers. Will not buy from here again.

Best Indian Food in UMHLANGAWe ordered Mutton Breyani and Bunny Chows with Garlic Naan Bread..... Absolutely divine!The atmosphere was superb as this little restaurant is hidden away in the Gateway Mall in Umhlanga.We had excellent service and have nothing ti complain about. The waiter fully understood what we asked for and we got exactly that.We can definitely commend this restaurant to anyone that loves Indian food.

After reading of the good reviews I thought let me try their food. I was very disappointed with the service. 1st they forgot to seat me, I stood as if I was just a statue for a good 5 mins. I had to flag waiters who were literally in front of me that hey guys Im a customer, please seat me. Finally I sat and for about 10 mins again no1 came to take my order. I raised my hand finally and only then did I get a menu. They took an additional 10 mins to come back to take the order. Customer Service is very important no matter how good your food is!

Went to DeMa for lunch -was terrrible.Had rogan josh that was just fat and bones-no decent lamb.The gravy was also oily and watery.Big disappointment and in bringing it to there attention no response was received.Also plenty of flies all around Restuarant .
