Amazingly, Ive never been to Bel Punto until a week ago when our neighbors invited us for dinner😄.And all I can say - this place is superb! Everything was cooked to perfection - I never had a calamari this tasty and tender, and the rockard was to die for. Service is great with the view to match - loved it!

Limited variety when close to closing time. So get there early to try all dishes.Great location and good food.

My experience at Bel Punto was okay. We made a last minute decision to go for supper even though we knew it was a fine dining restaurant. We dressed up got there and were seated without a view (view seats need to be reserved). Atmosphere was very casual with people in casual wear and children all over. Seemed like a typical beach side restaurant although it was evening and I expected extreme fine dining as the prices suggested. The service was good but not exceptional and the meals were tasty but when the bill was received and I saw their 8 prawn specialty meal charged at R360 I was disappointed. It really didnt taste to the value of that price. Music was played in the restaurant although we struggled to even catch a subtle beat due to the enormous noise of people at the tops of their voices. All in all due to the factors mentioned i would not be returning but thanks for the experience. Prices should match the food and atmosphere. We pay for the experience.

What can I say. Bel Punto was one of the highlights of our honeymoon. The food was amazing but the service was exceptional. Waiters that just know exactly what you need when you need it without being disruptive of the meal. Highly recommend this place. Its quite pricey but worth every cent

Awesome views, brilliant vibes, love the setting and seafood menu, food was delicious. Menu has a variety of options. Portions were HUGE. So accommodating to my little one and even though we didn’t make a booking (which I strongly recommend that you do make a booking as this place gets booked so quickly) they were polite and accommodating to us. The mocktails were delish! The staff were amazing- they are quick efficient and on standby. The manager even came to say hello. Would love to go back when I am in the area.

Sadly this legendary eatery has slipped down in standards. The menu is a great mix, the prices are on the expensive side, but the ambiance, and quality of food has slipped.The shoe string French fries are not even as good as Macdonalds. The side salad is full of cheap bulking lettuce. Service was adequate and Management is very visible and engaging, but for the prices being charged the attention to detail is non existent. I visited after several years and was sorely disappointed. But I will give it another try soon

I visited this area for the first time last Sunday. Oh what an experience! My chicken choice was succulent and well prepared. Thumbs up to the chef. My friend opted for the fish choice. She has never talked of any other place. From reception to exit the friendly staff welcomed us with smiles. Very strict with covid 19 precautions. You are able to book a table. The view of the sea and sailing ships just made the feeling special

Great food, great service.Order the asparagus and buffalo cheese for starters if in season. It’s superb.Pizza was amazing and authentic in flavour. Risotto was multi-dimensional. Qual dish is wow. Bolognese pizza was super spicy and delish.Great service and great food all round.

We had a great dinner at Bel Punto. Theres a good welcome from the manager and after from your own waiter. Our waiter, Trevor, did a good job during the whole night. We started with cocktails which were good. Than as main course we took the risotto. Well prepared and enough seafood in the dishes. Well done! The weather was not good on the night we went so we could not enjoy the view as much but on a good day, youll enjoy the nice view over the sea as well. Nice place to go to...

Amazing restaurant with fantastic food. The service was also excellent. Beautiful view over the sea and the balcony area has glass windows that can be closed if the weather is not good. The seafood is very good! I highly recommend the prawns and the crayfish and avocado starter. Cocktails are also good.

The best service I had in most probably the last two years. ... the quality of the food was excellent, the way it was presented and served really make you feel.special. Everything was upmarket and much better than expected. Food was delicious and the view was spectacular.

Eating at Bel Punto is pricey, but a real treat. It is hard to believe that they can pack so much flavor into their dishes. Well worth the 30 minute drive and the prices.

Enjoyed a late lunch. Great ocean views and open air feel. Abundance of natural light. Ordered oysters as a starter. Main meals ordered were the half baby chicken with prawns and chips, calamari with prawns and chips, lamb chops and another prawn dish. As other reviews have mentioned, Bel Punto is known for their seafood. The delicious prawns were sizeable and well prepared. The tiramisu is incredible. Trust the waiters recommendations and you wont regret it.

The service was excellent, beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. However sadly the food was mediocre. Very disappointing as the meals are expensive, expect to pay around R250 for a main course.

Amazing service...waiters that actually know what theyre talking about, they understand the menu well and are polite and eloquent. And the seafood is a win by far! Fresh and well flavoured. Their caper lemon butter sauce on line fish is a salty buttery wonder. The fact that all bookings can be done and confirmed online is a loss point because its so convenient, fast and effective. Beautiful ocean view 🏖

Bel Punto restuarant is at Umdloti Center in Kwazulu Natal at the North of Durban, had to make a booking prior visiting the place. It is on the first floor facing the ocean has a nice view. Waiters are caring even the management is kindly .I loved the place.

I dont often give a 5 star (by no means a critic) but this is truly outstanding. The prices are 20-30% on your average but believe me when I say this, you get what you pay for.All those other high ratings are genuinely true, brilliant.Waiters at professional, the food is exceptional and the setting is superb.You will love it. Ill be back in 4 days time for the baby chicken as we are here on a weeks holiday and I must try it before we go back.

Bel Ponto is one of the best places Ive dined at. Beautiful view to go with a beautiful interior. The menu has a wide variety even for vegetarians. (I only tried the sea food) The food was absolutely Devine and the presentation was great! I would really recommend the seafood pasta. The desserts were delicious. I enjoyed the Italian kisses. The cocktails were also really refreshing!

Most incredible restaurant in KZN. The location is a bit out of the way for most, but the beautiful ocean view is the payoff. The vibe is classy and friendly with an Italian presence. The service is tentative and world class making sure to go the extra mile and entertain humour. The food has a higher price that most places, but is beyond worth it when the dish arrives. The seafood is the main reason you visit here, but I still love the classic Italian dishes. I have not heard one bad thing about a dish hear, so I think youre pretty safe to be experimental with your pallette. Have been many times and will continue to keep coming back!

Absolutely fantastic. Old school world class serviceFood is to die for. The quality of the cooking, spicing and sauces would compete with the best.Prices not for the faint of heart but still very good value for money. You get what you pay for and then some. Portions are generous and no one will go home hungry.If you are a tiramisu fan then dont skip theirs. Very good.

We ordered the Calamari Fritti, Kingklip Al Forno and Gamberi alla Padella... all thoroughly enjoyed! Highly recommend a visit here if you ever pay Umdloti a visit.

Superb experience at Bel Punto! The service was exceptional, even though I was a table for 1. The lasagne di Carne was really good, the tomato sauce to meat to cheese ratio was spot on. And arrived surprisingly quickly after ordering, despite how full it was. And with the seaview? Yes! Would definitely come again.

This is one of our go-to restaurants in Umdloti.The food and ambience is excellent. The staff are really well trained and the manner in which one is served is reminiscent of an older age of fine dining. Plates are placed before you from your right hand side and removed from the left. Our waiter, TK, was brilliant and very knowledgeable, unobtrusive and a total delight to deal with.There is an extensive menu with a wide selection of pasta, seafood, steaks and some specialty items such as Veal, osso bucco and rack of lamb.The main courses are on the pricey side but for a special occasion well worth it.Our party had a generous rack of veal ( I have not come across this before as generally the veal is served in slices like a minute steak) a peri-peri chicken, a comfort food lasagna and a half peri-peri chicken with a generous serving of queen prawns.We ended off with a chocolate mousse which was judged excellent and a very, very good Tiramisu.An Irish Coffee and a speciality blend coffee ended off the meal.The total bill including drinks and tip came to R2400 for four of us.

We are NEVER disappointed at this amazing restaurant. We choose this venue personally and treated our staff to Christmas function there again this year. The food is outstanding and the service is unbelievable. You come to Bel Punto to feed your soul...the menu...the staff...the views. You have to visit to experience the holistic enchantment yourself!

Ordered 3 thing Calamari, which was absolutely great, a, Italian Fillet Roll: which is a fillet on a bun with tomato and lettuce that is not worth R190 lets call that R70 and finally the tiramisu I paid R100 for, it was worth R30 tops, Spar has desserts, rather go buy their cheap Sh*t for the appropriate price.

Such a beautifully designed restaurant with breathtaking views!Our waiter last night was on point! Silence. His service was impeccable. He was light-hearted and his knowledge of the menu and wine fantastic!I was quite disappointed with my seafood pasta.Not in terms of generosity as there was a large portion and loads of seafood. It was very salty and left me disappointed.The fish and chips that my dining partner had was nice but nothing exceptional.I will definitely be back as this restaurant is a mainstay in the Durban restaurant scene and perhaps just a slightly off night with the sauce.

We booked for dinner based on the reviews we read. We are still trying to figure out what the many raving reviews we saw were based on because we found both the food and the ambience pretty average. Not a bad place at all but definitely not worth 4, let alone 5 stars.
