Its better to see something once than to hear about it a thousand times in deed.A bit underwhelming after the bumpy 4kg dirt road drive. Probably worth seeing if youre already in the area. Plenty of braai space. People arent allowed to swim due to slippery rocks and countless accidents.R30pp cash only at the gate.
Most beautiful place to take family and friends for a picnic. Walk through the tall trees all along the river. Nice and clean. Picnic tables and braai areas available.
Beautiful falls. Looks like great place to picnic. Picnic area may need a bit of a revamp. But its tranquil and quiet
Lovely place, take your kids and have a picnic there.
This was my second visit, but this time I did the hiking trail..it was breathingly beautiful...waterfall, after waterfall...tall pine forest surrounded by a carpet of green ferns...I would recommend it to anyone. The waterfall at the picnic area is just the start. A real gem of the Tzaneen area.
Wonderful place. Bathrooms need some upgrading and looking after.
It was the best experience, Id mos.def go again🧡loved it an would recommend it to others
The falls are spectacular ...peace of mind and gives you time to reflect
The God created nature is beautiful. The government upkeep of it is NOT.Placing old cheap plastic tape borders is NOT adding to the traquility of nature. In general the maintenance is simply lacking.
Very beautiful, little neglected, but absolutely worth the R30 per person entrance fee. Preferably use a vehicle with a farely high clearance since the dirt road running up to the entrance is not too nice.
A very beautiful place, for a picnic, photoshoot or to chill with friends or family
Beautiful place, nice braai area, suitable for big families or couples. R30 entrance feeThe road to the falls is rocky and dusty but still okey for a small car.
A great place for photos, walking and a picnic
Make sure your car can handle off road. Paid R30 per person. No longer allowed to braai there. Alcohol is prohibited as well as swimming. There are picnic/seating areas. When going make sure you wear shoes for outdoor activities. The area is slippery and dangerous. There are hiking trails you can do but no guides around to help or give information.
We visit Debengeni falls yearly. Now all the braais are closed. Not that much fun. Also not allowed to chill in the shallow pools as where we use to sit in the pools...Still beautiful as always.
One amazing falls in limpopo well located for time away and bond with nature. Its set for great picnic with family, friends and colleagues who love the sound water. There is ample space for a big group of people.Get lost in nature and embrace wonderful outdoors moments at Debengeni falls💖
R30 per person to get in. Money well spent. There are toilets and braai facilities. Many people swimming in the rock pools and probably some of the cleanest water you will find: in fact it’s so clean that a hose is setup which lets you fill up your bottle to drink right from the falls. Quite a steep road getting in and out but no 4x4 required
Amazing outdoor feels. Close to mother nature. Would go a million times over, just to relax my mind.
Awesome hiking trail and waterfalls in the middle of nowhere! Great restaurants on the way back to Polokwane as well. One can cycle there as well. Be sure to check it out. Could be advertised a bit more though as we had no idea that this hidden playground was there.
Very nice site, take a braai pack and some charcoal with. Well worth a visit. Take a walk down past the picnic site to below the falls
Picnic area, braai facilities, toilet facilities (bring toilet paper, they don’t always have) great for a hot day to cool off in the natural pools.Bring cash for entrance fee. Please be sure to use the bins provided and clean up when you are done 😎
Beautiful picnic spot.
Beautiful place gift of nature, suggested to use 4 x 4 or High Ground Vehicle as dirt road with stones
Worth a visit, take a picnic basket with.
Great place for hiking, the weather play its part also
A beautiful spot for a picnic. It gets busy over weekends. Just watch out for the monkeys - they have no fear of humans and they’ll try and score some of your spread. Please don’t feed them!
This is a very beautiful place
Outstanding!!! A nature Gem. A short drive from the main road that lead through Magoebaskloof. Also a short walk with little effort, if any to the beautifull scenery, huge trees and the Debegeni waterfall. Very peacefull. There are two very safe rock pools in which you can enjoy and experience the ice cold and clean mountain water. There are a lot of tables, benches and build braai stands with grids to use for your braai or you can consider packing a hearty family picnic basket. There ia a ablution fascility should nature call. You should however stay within the embarked area since unfortunate people slipped on the very slippery rocks and steep slopes in the river and drowned in the strong current.Entrance fees are R 10 per person and R 10 per vehicle. This is a place you must visit and enjoy at least once in your life.
AmazingClean and secured
What an amazing place , breathtaking views, it was a great experience .
Was visiting Tzaneen with my friends and we couldnt let the opportunity of visiting the falls pass us by. Great place for picnics too
Yes...a tranquil and lovely spot in South-East Limpopo! Not far from Tzaneen, Haenertsberg and Cheerio, etc....The water is not so polluted or unclean, which is a relief and wonderful.Lots of solid wood tables and braai stands and wooden decking, etc. Bring the family or friends along your way to somewhere else nearby, and of course, have a good braai and chill. Photos, photographers and cameras are welcome. Its a pretty waterfall! Please preserve it and dont Chuck rubbish in the water or anything like that. Be safe also...the waterway on the sloping rocks is real slippery. Keep children safe and aware door their lives sakes.
Always special. Beautiful waterfall and nature
Awesome sure to visit, lots of lovely nature views, waterfalls, verdant hills and forest. This site had a lot of picnic tables and braai areas if you want to make full use of the visit! Is also close to Magoebaskloof, Haenertsburg, Zwakala craft brewery & Wegraakbosch Dairy farm.Consider following the nearby Forest Drive which takes you through sublime nature withv winding roads. A 4x4 may be required if you do the drive though!
Awesome place!
Beautiful!! Serene!!! Just Wow!!!
Its a lovely waterfall & picnic spot. There is safe parking with a guard watching & you walk about 2 minutes to reach the waterfall. Some people swim in the smaller pools.
The falls are really beautiful and surrounding area so lush and green. There are sufficient picnic tables and places to braai. The gravel road to get to the falls is a bit daunting at some places if travelling with a sedan vehicle. Would be better with a bakkie or SUV. However we did travel in a sedan and did manage to get there without incident.
Beautiful waterfalls and terrain. A scenic experience, hikes can be done at venue.Road to waterfalls is rocky, uneven and very narrow. 4x4s or SUVs will do well on this terrain.Venue is great for a family braai or relaxation. Entrance fee is R30 for adults and free for kids under 12.
Wonderful place
This place is beautiful
My wooooooosa place of all times!

Beautiful and very clean.
Hidden little peaceful gem
The place is just simply amazing
Beautiful, Amazing Wonderful
The workers keep the terrain clean, monkeys a bit of a problem
Relaxing environment and excellent scenic view.
Awesome!!
Nature at its best
Wonderful place! Just watch out for the monkeys grabbing you picnic stuff!
Awesome place and a must.
Falls are beautiful and worth seeing. Facilities are run down so just go for the falls.
Loving the nature and water and the waterpools.... enjoying Gods creation.
Great place to swim and relax
The best U have ever seen Debegeni Falls.
Beautiful setting. Unspoilt
Like Rivendell, if the elves braaied and drank beer (Im pretty sure they were elves and not orcs) definitely worth the visit and entrance fee (R10 per person and per car) , very beautiful, plenty of space (although Id imagine the parking is a problem on a busy day) so find your braai spot amongst the elves/orcs or wander further down and find somewhere quieter to take a dip, slide down the rocks, or just lie around elf/orc watching
Lovely place, dogs not allowed but id still go again!
