Proper screen and friendly staff. They jist need to remind people of the exit time in person. Yes, its written on the notice board, but the people at reception just be throw a courteous reminder.

Punda gate by mhinga village. You experience the nice things of nature right from the gate. You get to se a lot of herbivorous animals and some carnivorous at the same place

A breath of fresh air from nature

What a friendly bunch. On exit we were greeted and treated respectfully as they checked our vehicle for whatever they look for. In our case all the usual luggage and camping related items.

Punda Maria gate is only about 70km from Thohoyandou Town. This is one of the Ten gates leading into the Kruger National Park

It was cloudy and didnt see many animals

Toilets, where not working at the gate and the bathrooms were in a shocking state , for a number of weeks, the staff dont seem to care about this problem, as they just shrugged their shoulders, when it was reported to them, visitors, pay big money to stay at the park, so this should have been made a priority.

Nice location with plenty of animals and birds to see. Saw lion. Leopard lots of buffalo and elephants and plains game. Camp manager need to focus on the standard of maintenance at the safari tents.

Kruger National Park Gate from Venda Thoyando

I entered the Kruger National Park through Punda Maria Gate on Sunday 27th of October. It was a very hot day as the temperature reached 41C° at Shingwezi Camp. There were elephants, buffaloes and zebras galore along Shingwezi River.

Kruger is just the ultimate. Phunda Maria is a great camp with electrity , a nearby water hole and the ability to put your tent right on the border fence to watch the dozens of elephants to that are around in the afternoon.

I never new there was a gate, a lot more convenient for us traveling from Louis Trichardt than heading further North first.

Friendly staff that knows what they are doing. Very clean toilets and reception. Security at the gate checks the car for any items not allowed inside the park.
