A group of ladies and I celebrated my moms bridal shower on 10 October 2021. It was our first time visiting and we all loved the place. A huge thank you to Bianca and the team at Longtable Restaurant who accommodated us and for the excellent hospitality. She went out of her way to bring us extra plates for our cake and created a space for it. The vineyard is so beautiful and the food was of top quality and so delicious. The wine was so divine. Im definitely going back soon.

The food is absolutely devine. If I could rate them 10 stars I would. My beef fillet was melt in your mouth tender, I could not fault any dish. Well done to the chef.The waiter was really great as well, thank you Fifi for your excellent service.

Lovely venue to spend a lazy weekend morning. Good brunch options. My partner had an issue with her food or it would have been five stars. Manager was on hand quickly to apologize and offered us a discount on our bill.

Nestled in Stellebosch, in a valley below the mountains, this place is amazing. Nice view while having breakfast, lunch, dinner or sundowners. The staff is very helpful, they will serve you a variety of dishes accompanied with glasses and glasses of wines to palitate your taste buds.Haskell Vineyards also offers wedding venues, the staff is quite excellent in organisng and decorating the venue to ones like. Kiddies playground within the eyes of the parents, a picnic area to relax and have that weekend you have always dreamed of. You can also have a tour of the wine cellar, taste wines with food pairing at the Wine Tasting Centre or just relax while sipping on your wine, inside or outside and most of all watch the sun set in the evenings. Visit Haskell Vineyards, Annandale Road in Stellenbosch and experience that breathtaking, awesome & never to forget memory.

We stopped by for lunch a few weeks ago, having booked in advance. Long Table is a small restaurant situated at Haskell Vineyard. The restaurant and the wine tasting are adjacent to each other in a semi open access layout.There are two reasons why I will not recommend this venue, nor will I return:1. Having arrived, and greeted with friendly smiles were shown to our seats. We are a party of 4, and two of us were keen to also do wine-tasting. The wine tasting counter was barely 6 meters from our table. While we were waiting to be served, I walked up to the wine tasting area to enquire if we could do wine tasting, and they advised me that it could only be done either outside or at the wine tasting area itself. As this area was just a few meters from our restaurant table I asked if we could walk our glasses up and down ourselves as we move through each tasting, and I was told that was in ok. This was where things went downhill. The waiters at our table told us this was not permitted; Eventually after asking a few more times the restaurant manager approached me and told me in no uncertain terms that I could not do wine tasting while seated at the restaurant table! I cannot imagine what wine farm would place such an absurd restriction. Her reasons that she provided were (i) They wanted me to enjoy the food and not be distracted by wine! What a ridiculous excuse as wine pairing is such common place around the world. (ii) As I was intending to use my Entertainer voucher towards the meals, that created a problem. Again – another absurd reason, which makes no sense. (I will not bother to comment about the tone and manner in which all of this was explained to me, but there was a little bit of a school-boy being berated for wanting to break the rules).2. The second reason that I would not return is the lengthy time periods. Here is how lunch turned out: Arrived at 13.45, Seated by 13.50, Ordered by 14.10, Wine issue not resolved by 14.15, and we are not offered the opportunity to buy other drinks; First course served by 14.30 (40 mins later), 15.18.. still waiting for second course (50 mins since first course!); 15.25 the next course arrived; 15.45 still waiting for dessert… I stopped making notes at this time. The waiting times between course is really no acceptable, and no explanations were offered.Finally a restaurant at a wine farm that does not permit you to wine taste at your table does not deserve to be on a wine farm – especially if you wait 40-50 minutes between courses!

Superb venue with a “small plates” menu that are well prepared. The service is fine but they have a weird restriction that tables of 5 or more must order the same number of plates and there is a minimum of 2 plates. Really weird.

Great variety of good tasting food if you have the budget for it. Beautiful location to boot.

Haskell offers fantastic wine. Rudolph, the winemaker, helped me taste through the entire lineup. Their wine farm is moving to organic and eventually biodynamic cultivation.

Amazing food, like really good. The truffle risotto was something to behold.The weather on the day was not the best, but the view wouldve been great, had it not been overcast. Friendly service, not too pricey......but seriously, the risotto. Its that good.

Absolutely beautiful venue overlooking the vineyards and mountains. The food is creative and interesting. Some dishes we had were misses though. The panacotta in particular was a gluggy mess literally stuck to the bottom of the plate! The pork belly was overcooked - a bit chewy and dry. Highlights were the lamb shoulder, the dark chocolate dessert and the kudu tartar.

Stunning location & excellent value for money in terms of wine tasting prices. You really cannot beat the view from the outside seating area. Our waiter was very friendly & knowledgable, but unfortunately seemed to forget about our table a few times, however this wasnt a huge issue. Booking, even for wine tastings seems to be essential for weekends at this beautiful location. Highly recommend.

Beautiful place! Delicious food, nouvelle cuisine but small portions (in my humble opinion) Good and friendly service. I liked the wine. Unfortunately not so kids friendly, no kids menu! Small play area for kids hidden around a corner. Design and outside space is amazing.

We had a wonderful time at Long Table , Haskell. The service was especially good. The little apple tarts were superb, and the view was one of the best to be had in Stellenbosch.

Went to Longtable on 12 June 2019 as it happens to be My Moms birthday, prior to going I had bought a Hyperli voucher...On the actual day it was raining cats and dogs,upon arrival at the restuarant we,were welcomed and sitted..it was nice and cosy as they had the Fireplace on..To cut a long story short, I would recommend Longtable for a special occassion, they are very attentive, courteous and I have to say their food is scrumptious and the portions are just right.Now the wine on the other hand is very good..I had their Dombeya Merlot and was very impressed.

……. We had bought a Hyperli Voucher for Gourmet-Food & Wine Pairing so the first thing to do was arrange an appointment to redeem it! Because they offer an email booking option we thought that we would give it a try but it proved a bit “nail-biting” as we didn’t receive a reply within the first week so we phoned a hooray someone did pick-up! So we learnt that they did have a problem of been short staffed and had just employed a new staff-member that very same day! Great! Now we had a secured reservation date! When you exit the main road and drive onto the estate which houses a few wine-farms you are already overcome with a good anxious adrenaline rush because of the sheer beaut-ii, the picturesque scene ahead of you overlooking the vine and the amazing mountainous views! It good to know that they have a security manned gate! The parking area is big and there are some nice trees to park your car under! The first impressions are always the lasting ones, the building housing the Wine-Tasting Room & the Longtable restaurant is very impressive, the front veranda is clean with a large wooden-bench and also the nice clean restrooms are situated here! The Reception area which houses a Bar together with some tables and along the one wall is an “L-shaped settee with tables to do wine-tasting at! They even have a Stove for Cold days! The Restaurant & the Wine-tasting facility is separated the Restaurant on the left! But the Best place to be seated is right out-side on the Patio which has big trees and large umbrellas for shade where the beaut-ii of the vineyards and the beautiful mountains in the distance is breath-taking-lii awesome! No wonder they have a picnic area which can be hire for any type of group function be it a wedding, party, etc, etc at the restaurant you can even arrange to have a picnic basket prepared beforehand! The picnic season is from November to March! Our voucher was for “Gourmet Food & Wine Pairing but sad-lii we were told that this is not going to happen as they have changed it to “Cheese-boards & 1 glass of Chardonnay” so what the heck we are here so we just accepted the change and bought a Haskell 4 wines tasting for R70.00 and a Dombeya 5 wines tasting for R50.00! The cheese-boards were scrumptious-lii sufficing with 4 slices of home-made white bread, 4 slices of rye-bread, 3 kinds of cheeses, marmalade, pickled cucumber & onion, cherry tomatoes and charcuterie fresh-lii prepared and delicious! You are unable to order foods from the restaurant to enjoy on the wine-tasting side you have to move over to indulge in the niceties there! So we just did that and had the most intriguing-lii insidious desserts! 1. Chocolate & Bacon= Dark chocolate Brownie with Bourbon ice cream and Bacon crumble! 2. Beetroot Crunchie=with white chocolate ice cream and caramelized sea-salt! There can be no truer words then as one of the Menu entries recorded “Good wine with Good food in Good Company is the most civilized pleasure one can enjoy!” Absolute-lii True! Our host was kind, pleasant and very knowledgeable with all the wine product from both ranges she served to us! The wines are produced from 60% of their own grapes plus 40% of grapes from Napier in the Franschhoek area! A Magical Romantic Real-Nature surrounding venue that has to be visited to experience Pure-Awesomeness!..........PS! They even have a Play Wooden Structure for the kids and Free WiFi!!!!...............

Starting at the door, zero manners from the maître d, the waiting staff were uncouth, their flagship white wine was served warm - although we got another cold carafe after complaining, porkbelly tasted like melted plastic, lamb tasted like tuna with chimichurri, Cuban chicken was overloaded with cumin. Long story short, not worth the effort or petrol to ever visit again if google allowed me to rate them negatively I would.

We had a lovely Mothers Day lunch here today. Fifi served us and her energy and vibrancy carried a fantastic mood for the whole time we were there. The food was great as well but Fifi is a prime example of how a server can vastly improve your experience. Thank you Fifi!

Absolutely fantastic. I booked in here for a wine and food pairing using a voucher I purchased. Both Barbara and Arnand were extremely helpful during the booking process.The experience itself exceeded all expectations. The food was exceptional, such beautiful tasty little morsels. Paired beautifully with the wine. A favourite was the Kudu Tartare with the chocolate dessert a close second.All staff were kind and helpful. The location is stunning and the view is amazing.I will be back for sure to try out the rest of the menu!

Exceptional food served on the cool shaded terrace that has a breathtaking view. Our waittress was entertaining and friendly, and the company was great. Haskell’s flagship wines, though pricey, were excellent too.

Lamb shoulder was VERY dry. The marrow dish was coldish-so tasted like cold fat. The 2 marrow dishes ordered were complete different sizes. View was nice, as well as staff, but since one pays for food and not view-one very generous star.

Nice venue and great wine. The food hit and miss. Risotto good as well as pressed lamb the oxtail was dry and deepfried with some batter and the green souce bitter. The hazelnut ice-cream was grainy and nit appealing.

Why a fantastic find. The winter specials menu is fabulous value for money - great fine dining, and wine tasting on the side - great wines !!

Views are spectacular, staff friendly. Some items on menu are good others not so good.

What a disappointment. We took a visitor there for lunch, and were told we could only have a shared platter of a protein and two sides (There were other variations of this available, but were not told about these). We were a party of three, but were told all three of us would have to choose the same two sides, which did not suit our various dietary limitations, allergies etc. The excuse for not being flexible was that their till was not set up for any deviations. We could not take the (purchased) wines from the wine tasting counter to the table. As a person who really appreciates good wine, I would have loved it very much to be able to taste the wines with the food. I actually felt unwelcome, and we left. It was telling that there were only four other people in the restaurant. Very sad.

The location is still amazing.The welcoming was a bit uncomfortable.The new concepts of having 2-4 platters a person is just a money making thing. There are people who are not doing platters. The classification and protions for that are ridicoules.The Chardonnay 2017 was too woody. Bad compared to the 2015 !!!A 2 peoples lunch with 2 glasses of wine at more than R 500 is something you do once, I definitely dont do it twice for that concept, these portions and this average wine.We recommended Long Table since 2012. Now we have to change our mind. It is not worth it any more.Sad, but in a short while Long Table will just be there for wine tastings..... whatch the space !
