The flea market is quaint with enough to browse through. The food market on the other hand has a delicious variety to choose from with my favorite being the mussel and oyster bar and what better to wash it down with some bubbly! Live music at weekends add to a great afternoon. Also kid and pet friendly.

Route 44 really has something for everybody. In our case, my wife loves browsing the interesting craft stores which abundantly dot the interior landscape. Me, I like the craft beer and chilling at the sound stage which normally hosts some outstanding local talent. Then of course, my two small boys can have their fill of fun while hopping about the extensive play parks.I enjoy the place on many levels and recommend it to all those interested in kicking back and just spending a great day with the family.

One of the best local markets in the Western Cape. Best time to go is between 10:00 and 12:00.Pros: - Excellent food selection. Highlights are the pork rib and belly guy in the one corner, the Greek style- Very nice child friendly areas with putt-putt and jungle gyms.Cons: - Only opens at 10am and gets very very busy.- On the expensive side for locally produced products and food.

Best food selection that South Africa has to offer. Presented in small little market stalls. Parking and seating well managed. Have been told that the market easily averages 10 000 people foot traffic per day. Highly recommended

Love this place. Great way to spend the day with friends, family, or just your significant other. Its also animal friendly, as long as they are on a leash. I always return home with something, may it be cheeses, chorizo, beard oils for hubby or jewellery. Food and drink options are the highlight, everything you want is there, so much fun to walk around and see all the choices. Keep returning, so much fun and happiness.

The market is a Hot spot for tourists and locals when it comes to having a wonderful, relaxed day with Family and friends. While you are enjoying your meal and your drink of choice, you can also enjoy the live bands that play at the market every weekend. For those that enjoy staying fit there is also a scenic 5 Km Run every Saturday morning at 08:00 that is hosted on the premises by Park run. It is an excellent place to go for the weekend if you want to get out of the house.

Great market! Awesome facilities, fantastic choices of food. Kitchen cow boys steak roll and pulled pork was delicious. Many more creative inventions to taste next time we are there.

Great market with a nice selection of stores set on a beautiful farm area with great views. There is also a nice play area for kids. It could do with a wider variety of stalls though and parking can be a bit of a problem but thats only because of the popularity of this place.

We were there in the very busy two oceans weekend... So hope its less crowded on other weekends. But with so many markets popping up all over this one must be doing something right to still lure the crowds

Not as big as I expected it to be and very crowded. Parking is a bit hard to find in the middle of the rush so get there early. Nice craft shops, but in the summer heat it was not the place I wanted to order food from and try to find a place to sit and eat it from, next time I will make an early morning of it.

Possibly the largest market in Cape Town at the moment, youll be spoilt for choice. Nestled among strawberry fields and a wine farms, ROOT44 has everything between locally-crafted goods and superb food. Grab a drink and plate and find a seat outside in the sun - sometimes theres live music playing and plenty of activities to keep the kids busy as well. Very highly recommended. Tip: there are ATMS available if you dont have cash.

This is a great market to visit. Lots of good stuff to say about Root44 market, but keep in mind it can get a bit crowded. A market is probably supposed to be a bit crowded, so might just be me not liking that aspect to much :)
