We just arrived home. Wow what an awesome experience!. Booking was smooth and efficient, arrival and check in was excellent, everything was nicely explained from reception to operating instructions. The overall experience over exceeded our expectations. We spent 2 nights. The toilet space is small but definitely expected on a boat house. We will be booking more often.

Had an absolute blast. Only issue was no toaster on board, but we improvised by doing over the fire. Friendly and professional staff and 100% family friendly. Absolutely worth every cent and the kids whining all the way there. Will be doing this again, without a doubt. Thank you guys for a wonderful experience.

I enjoyed my stay and the experience. However :1) Ensure you understand the exact check in time. The site from which we booked said check in is from 2pm however the establishment expected us there at 2pm hence we were late for check in.2) We were not happy with the service at reception. The elderly lady who checked us in was very unfriendly and quiet rude.3) Kudos to the guys helping with the boats. They worked hard to give us a great service.4) The bathroom is quite small. Taking a shower was a challenge.5) I think the website pictures need to be updated so that they give an updated view of the boats and what a person is paying for in order to manage expectations.Thank you

It was an awesome experience, Boat was amazing. Staffs were super friendly. Climate was awesome. And It is the best location for pictures. We Anchored the boat near the Eagle Crest, we got the most amazing sunset view... Enjoyed alot

Nice Relaxing weekend & very sweet people.BUT - the boat we had definitely needs some TLC and some work.The floor was liftingOur Fridge stopped workingOur boat cut out.Returned with some bed bug bites.The support when you get stuck or when the fridge stopped working, was excellent & the sweet guys responded very quickly.I would recommend you ask for detailed and up to date pictures before booking.

Being the captain of your boat is an amazing experience. We just loved it. The boat was clean and the staffs were very friendly. Also the picturesque view of Vaal river made our experience more beautiful.

Boats are old not everything in working order like fridge pack a bar chair and steps for skipping. soft sole shoes to climb the steps on the side. Have a lot of doom and tabard if you dok at the reets there is spiders and mosquitos they suggest you keep all closed.. If you want to boat around like us bargain for at least R1000 for extra petrol and a tip for the helpers helpfull and friendly. . I take it as a holiday in the bundus we were 3 boats with couples 3 days and 3 nights. we loved it will do it again for that i will give full stars

A unique experience, lazily cruising up and down the Vaal River stopping off at the various pitstops along its banks and taking in the views. Overnighting on the river, with a braai on the back of the boat, whilst being able to try your luck at catching a fish or two is most relaxing. However what is indicated on the website is not a true representation as the boats are rather dated and in need of some essential maintenance, I would not recommend for any extended stay more than a couple of nights. The fridge didnt work from day one and as a result in the summer heat some of the meat we had brought along had spoiled. Only one of the hot plates worked which was at least enough to boil the kettle. The anchor light was not working, the toilet door did not latch, there was only one chair on the upper deck, the boat could use a fan especially for summer nights and there is no seat at the helm which means you have to stand the whole time while driving. The water pump worked intermittently which meant we were unable to shower on our departing day. The bedding and linen was adequate and clean, with a galley equipped with what you may need. If you intend on doing a bit of cruising be prepared burn through quite a bit of fuel.

Wow! What an absolute blast!!! Weve always wanted to go out with one of Old Willows boats for many years, but it just never happened UNTIL WEDNESDAY!!! YEY! Man, oh man, what a peaceful, relaxing and exhilarating experience! Myself, Hubby our 17 yr old son and 12 year old daughter had such a fulfilling family day together. The boat was kitted out with everything needed ( Dont miss the dishwashing liquid in the pretty ornamental pump bottle item by the sink like I almost did - but remember to bring your spices, salt n pepper included, there are little jars for them). We only went for the day, but I just didnt want to climb off - next time its a few nights :) Definitely an item for the bucket list!

We like it alot, but a few things needs to be attended to: power on the boat not sufficient batteries very old and not maintained, maintenance of the boat not up to standard, showering and geyser not up to standard we had to wash in gold water for two days, management not very helpful when it comes to complaints. Overnight spots not clearly mark and we struggle to get the overnight places on the map, further it was amazing.

Rented the house boat, very easy to operate even for a novice boat operator it would be a great weekend away.The Company advertises the boat to accommodate 4 people, it has that ability but have that in mind if its a group of friends as the boat is very intermit.It being 90km out of Johannesburg its a perfect weekend away for you and your companion. Dirrections following the GPS could be improved, last 5 km we were uncertain where to turn. Sign boards to the plot would be appreciated.

Wonderful, relaxed cruising. Facilities on the boat are up to par. Had an excellent 3 night stay. Albeit a bit pricey, it is highly recommended. We will miss old Kingfisher.

The best outdoor experience ever, been there more than 10 times, will keep going back. Braai is available on boat and should you have rainy weather then gas stove and oven. Hot water shower and small fridge on boat. A must for fishing enthusiasts. Well organised and friendly staff,

Easy to handle, 42 km of riverfront to explore. Suitable for 2 adults and 3 kids or 4 adults only. Great experience although costly in season and over weekends.Kitchen well equipped but shower/toilet cramped.Friendly staff makes it a nice experience

We hired a house boat from Old Willow No.7 and had the best day and night. The company is fantastic and easy to deal with. The boat was amazing and we really enjoyed our evening out on the water.

Great way to spend the weekend out on the river. Boats are serviced and cleaned when you stop by.Only minor annoyance was that the starters on both our boats werent working, so was a pull start instead. Not a major tho

A house boat.... What a delight. U can cruise up n down the river, stop at any of the restaurants on the waters edge, or u can self cater for ur trip

Incredible 2 nights, Taaibos Spruit gave us 14 hours of complete tranquil peace without seeing another soul. Then up anchor and cruise on, tieing up for a beer here, a lunch there and discovering another quiet inlet for another night. Beautiful boats, amazing staff and a unique experience. Highly recommended and cannot wait for our next voyage.

Had a fantastic weekend but must compliment the staff on doing an outstanding job ..From the moment we arrived they made us feel welcome and were unbelievably friendly .. Highly Recommend this to anybody .
