I was referred to Dr Carla on the discovery of my 2nd breast CA in June 2019,(16 years after the first one!), by both my Physician Surgeon and my Oncologist, both on the same day.  When I met her,  for my first consultation,  I knew she was the ONE. Dr Carla Norval stepped into my life a week after I found out that I had breast cancer on 29 May 2019. She has been part of my cancer journey, starting with the Mastectomy on 19 June 2019, through to my reconstruction on 7 November 2019, with a further procedure in Feb this year. Carla is a true professional ,with a caring bedside manner, and I can honestly say that an Angel sent her to look after me! My breast cancer journey has been an overall pleasant experience and I can certainly say that this was due to Carlas caring nature.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer during the COVID-19 lockdown in mid-2020. The thought of having to navigate cancer during a pandemic was exceptionally frightening, as due to COVID-related restrictions, my family was not allowed to accompany me to medical appointments or to the hospital for the surgery.I met Dr Norval a week after my initial diagnosis and I have never looked back since that day. She has played a pivotal role in my cancer survivorship. Her calm, in-control, professional and empathetic approach enabled me to make the best decisions for my situation and to feel like I could navigate the path to recovery with confidence, even if there was so much uncertainty ahead of me.Once I discussed my options with her, I knew she was the best person to care for me. I felt safe and cared for and she always went out of her way to make me feel less alone. I followed her advice every step of the way, knowing she only wanted the best outcome for me and very soon, I was up and about and feeling like I was going to be well and feel whole again.Dr Norval handled my mastectomy as well as my reconstructive surgery and the results are incredible. She is a perfectionist with a passion for making women feel confident again. If I had to do it again, I would not hesitate to walk the path with her.I will be forever grateful for her support and care. I would not have made it this far without her.
