Such a lovely place. It is usually well kept. The really terrible part is people walking their dogs without leashes. It is absolutely fine if the dogs listen to their owners and dont approach big dogs and start trouble. It would just be so much better if people were respectful of other walkers and their dogs and used a leash.

Very beautiful park. Relaxing. We visited on a Sunday and not that busy but not many under shade benches to sit.But many visitors unfortunately unleash their dogs! There are signs to have dogs on leash but no security guard was around to enforce! And bins were all full. Many rabbits in a corner that is great for kids to see and play. But I wonder if the center takes care of their health as I noticed one with skin problem!

I like the place but was afraid because it was empty. Besides, there was a sign that says “Crimes happen in this place, be aware”. So i was more worried as i went with my 3 kids alone.

Refreshing open field environment for a weekend market. Organized on 2nd saturdays of every month from 9am till 3pm. Visit and buy your organic shea butter and african black soap products and more while listening to live music and enjoying delicious food as well. Its a lovely place for the whole family.

Park is beautiful and well looked after. Sometimes trash is left for too long and can make the park look dirty. There is the downside of a sqautter camp right across the park, the Braamfontein spruit separates the park from the sqautter camp, but it is an unpleasant site to look at and safety can be an issue. There is some old broken down infrastructure in the park (old concrete slabs and blocks). All in all the park can improve on many things, but it still is a very pleasant place to go to for picnics and walks

What a great little park, a few little routes to walk the dogs, plus a jungle gym section for the kids and you can even pop over to the River Cafe for a Coffee or Pizza. If you do the full loop on the side you park its about a 3 to 4 km walk. We enjoy walking along the river and when you get to the end there is a beautiful little opening with a beach and pond for the pups to swim.

The Field Market. It is a very well organised event. The parking was an absolute pleasure. Live entertainment suited the venue and event, creating a folksy festival kind of vibe. There is a pleasing variety of stalls, food and drinks on offer. All and all the Field Market is a delightful outing for a Saturday.

Great place to chill out in the outdoors.Everybody comes to walk their dogs here. I only wish people would show consideration for others and pick up after their dogs have made a poop

Im sure this park is lovely in the summer. Great place to go and walk your dogs. Leash policy but just for some...The restaurant has a large enclosed play area where smaller kids run around eagerly. Great vantage points from table for peace of mind. Lovely menu with subtle variations thst make for some geniouly healthy food choices. Thoroughly enjoyed the vibe.

Nice place for children or a relaxing braai out. You can take your dogs for a walk . Downside is that many people do not pick up after their dogs so you need to watch your step. There is also a site across from the river where the guys are separating there recycling which looks unsightly.
