We went for dinner last night. The dip platter was very nice but some of the mains were just average. The mussels were super salty. The waiter got a couple of the orders wrong, my sister wanted fried calamari but received grilled calamari. The waitress gave a lot of attitude and was quite rude, so we just left it as is. The service was also VERY slow.

I am so happy that this place is still opened. The fish there is amazing. I will be visiting it very soon.

Did not expect to like the place this much. Really nice vegetarian food and the servings always leave me with leftovers to take home.

One of my favorite restaurants. The food is glorious. Although I didnt eat much the Greek menu is extensive with Mese platters and main courses that are excellent. The service is good and quick to serve the food. Staff were pleasantly good and had a great lunch. Actually birthday lunch paid for by my daughters. Recommended Baklava for desert.

The most authentic Greek experience, a favourite always. Tiromasalata dip and Pita, followed by a grilled baby chicken, grilled Sole, Kleftiko ..was the absolute best!!

Really lovely place. Very cosy and the staff are friendly. My partner and I went her for our anniversary. You could taste the prawns are super fresh. I love prawns and their prices are very reasonable. I had prearranged for management to do something special for dessert and put happy anniversary along the plate. My partner had chops and he was very pleased with his meal. The dessert did not taste very fresh and that is the reason I am not giving them a 5 star. I will definitely return to this restaurant and I would highly recommend this restaurant if you like seafood.

Very cool spot, really enjoyed it. The looks a lot smaller than it actually is once you go in. I had the lamb chops and they were amazing. The food was good and well priced.Their Dineplan bookings dont seem to work, so rather call. Fortunately they have had a table for us anyway.

So surprised to find this little bit of Greece on our doorstep here in Johannesburg. We enjoyed a lovely fun evening with good authentic Greek food, a festive atmosphere, friendly service and even some live entertainment. Having just returned from a holiday in Greece this definitely made us long for more. We will be back to Pare Taverna.

I try not to go at peak times therefore get hot food do not wait long to be served. I really enjoy the mezes, but my favourite is their Pita fresh and delicious . I really like the chicken Yiro best in Johannesburg. My partner enjoys their chicken soup. What makes this restaurant special is that the owner is on site and watches everything carefully and ensures that his food is bought from good suppliers and he makes a lot of his food fresh each day. His manager is a very nice man and extremely helpful. You wont go wrong and it is socially distanced and safe.

A must visit for an authentic Greek experience. From the warm welcome, decor, delicious food to the Greek dancing & plate breaking (Fri, Sat after 21h30) and belly dancing, it was a most memorable night. We enjoyed the vegetarian meze platter for two as a starter. However all five of us couldnt resist it. Definitely worth a 2nd visit.

Home made feta, Greek desserts (which I will net attempt to spell), dips en great variety of drinks are on offer.Greek food has lots of great gluten free options. Even vegetarians can have a lovely meal with beans, cheeses and falafels.

Ordered a meal for the Family tonight via Uber Eats and experienced the worst service and attitude from Manager, Josh. Rude. Interrupts. Accuses Customers. Lacks professionalismI placed a simple order: 3 Lamb wraps, extra feta and 3 portions of chips. No drinks. No added extras or special instructions that could have confused the order.When the order was delivered it was missing two portions of chips but everything else was there. I picked up the phone and was met with Manager Josh, who initially apologised and offered to send the missing portions.To cut a long story short, he phoned me back and accused me of getting my own order wrong, implying that I hadnt been focused and then further went on to say that next time I should double check the receipt before approaching the restaurant but he would, however send the chips soonest and free of chargeAnnoyed, I thanked him, put the phone down and double checked my order because I was adamant I had selected everything I needed to.My order was right and I had just paid R450 for items I didnt receive AND I was made to feel incompetent by someone who should be skilled in problem solving, not blamingHe then went on to say he was going to prove that I was wrong by sending me a screenshot of my order and requested my number. (This is now the 3rd time he has accused me of being in the wrong)Ironically, Josh landed up phoning me back 10 minutes later apologising because HE in fact read the order wrong. He stated he saw the price per chips and had assumed I had only ordered 1 portion and missed the big 3 x that was next to it.I know mistakes happen (we are only Human) and whilst I did appreciate the apology, I didnt appreciate being interrupted or accused so aggressively in the first placeI truly hope you will learn from this because I dont believe I will be back

I was happily surprised by Parea.I am not usually a fan of Greek food, but they offer a great selection and its all delicious.

Quaint restaurant situated on the West end of Corlett drive. A lot of Greek culture there and they have live performances and they even break plates. Good vibes and atmosphere but personally, I dont enjoy the food that much (my personal taste). Enjoy with family and friends to have a good night out.

I have changed my review as I was so disappointed with the food when we returned for a celebratory lunch. It was our wedding day and we took our family here for lunch and the food was so disappointing.I love Greek food and remembered the food at Parea being delishes but was saddened by the food we recieved and embarrassed that this was what we had taken our guests to for a wedding day lunch.

Great food, prime location in Johannesburg and maintaining a quaint, homely feel. Youre neither in a fancy place where you feel like you shouldve dressed up, nor somewhere where you feel like you could do a bit better. You feel relaxed, but taken care of.

If youre looking for authentic Greek cuisine, look no further. They have been here for 30 plus years for a reason. There is basically no parking but we find a spot and we walk, why? because it doesnt get better than this. Nikos is a master and the staff and family a pleasure. Eat here, you will be sorry if you dont.
