No long-term contract,thats a bonus if youre not sure about the commitment

I was a member of Viva Gym for about a year and am now ending my contract due to emigration. I want to thank the staff and management of Viva for providing excellent facilities at an affordable rate, which has been integral to my fitness journey. Towards the end of my membership, I traveled to Cape Town and had to visit a different gym there. I paid an exorbitant day rate, the weights were so old that they had lost their markings so I had no idea what I was lifting, the floor was filthy, and the gym was completely overcrowded despite me going at off-peak times. Coming back to neat, clean, well-stocked Viva at the end of my trip was like returning home and I breathed a sigh of relief as I walked through the Viva doors. Keep it up, Viva!

Not a fan of this gym at all. It is way too small and there are far too few machines. They could have way better utilized their space and at least put a few more machines in. One of the worst things about a gym is having to wait for a machine... this happens every time I am at this gym.There have always been numerous complaints about locker theft.

The gym staff are friendly and always greet you when you enter and exit. I think the gym is a good value for the monthly membership too.Something that is shocking to me is that members don’t wipe down the equipment after they’ve used it. That’s just nasty. The cleaning staff does a great job of cleaning the gyp and equipment 7 days per week. But come on y’all! They aren’t cleaning up after you. You should clean the equipment after you’re finished. Some, only some people pay a towel down on the equipment as they are using it but what about all those places you touched where your towel didn’t protect?I can’t believe people want to workout on a machine after someone just dropped their sweat all over it...disgusting!

This is the second time I have had my goods stolen at this gym since joining about 40 days ago. First my items were stolen out of a locked locker inside of the changing room. Last night my laptop was stolen from my locked car boot (I even checked that it was locked before I left my car). The car was locked when I came back and I am 100% sure it was inside there. There is obviously someone in there copying remotes so that vehicles can be opened without force. I like the gym but this is ridiculous.Additional information, the cameras in the parking lot do not cover 50% of the lot. Meaning there is no proof if items are stolen and car jamming technology used. Good job guys really thinking ahead, I dont feel safe here and will leave when my contract is finished.

The gym has an overwelling body odour smell and the aircon is non exisitant.Staff to busy dancing and shouting over the unbearable music to even take notice machines have been wrapped in danger tape for weeks.Rather pay the extra for virgin active.

Used to go to Virgin, got a free week at Planet Fitness and Viva is still my favourite.The facilities are always clean, the gym is never overly full and the atmosphere is just better!The fact that they are so well priced is just a bonus.

Its really a great gym, small but manageable. Things have recently changed, for the past few weeks, they implemented a rule that they will not switch on the Aircon unless if there is a class this means that if you want to cycle or do Cardio individually , you have to put up with room temperature In SUMMER. During week days in the afternoon, we barely have cold water available in some of the dispensers and no one communicates what the reason could potentially be.

As first timers, my husband and I thought it was a bad place to consult a dietician/ nutritionist. Poor experience and displeased with her conduct. Also gym and respective rooms in which they conduct classes are pretty unclean which resulted in me having a severe cold frequently.

Its an okay gym, but they dont maintain the gym. Same showers that have been out of order since last year are still out of order. Same with the free weights, it is unfortunately not well maintained. Out of the 10-12 showers they have in the mens bathroom, only about 5 are usable.Update: Ben (the manager) took my concerns seriously and sent me an updated report and feedback as to the issues I (and others) experienced. I am blown away by how well he handled this. He genuinely addressed these concerns personally and abstained from any level of arrogance or unfriendly mannerisms whatsoever. Absolutely well done and certainly service that is sought after in a country where service is hardly ever a priority.

My Gym. I like the private showers, the equipment, the space. Its an awesome environment. Awesome service. No fuss no stress. Value for money.

Great gym, good facilities, conveniently located for me. My kids enjoy going there as well. Month to month contract and pricing is perfect.

Be very careful when cancelling your contract, you may be charged for months afterwards.

Great gym if you weight train or just want to do cardio. They have good equipment. There is no pool, sauna or day care. The wifi works mostly in the cardio section and at the front desk, but the signal is horrible in the weight section

Great gym, better than other gyms I have been too. Only disappointment is no generator when load shedding strikes your training ends.

VIVA GYM FOURWAYS!Appalling. Peoples cars get stolen right by the gyms designated parking, or stuff that you may put in your car assuming it is a secure parking. In our case, they opened my girlfriends car, took her personal belongings, and had the time to lock the car back and leave unbothered. This will go public as all the managers try to do is deflect the blame rather than taking responsibility. No sense of urgency.

Great gym ....Please update your timetable as you guys close at 8pm on Fridays and not 9pm.

Awesome Gym with friendly people (by friendly i mean people dont give you weird looks as they would in every other gym i meab ive met ao many new people here) - the Viva staff are always super stoked and bring life to wveryone who walks through the doors. Thanks guys!

Pros:Price, convenience, tons of cardio equipment, palm scanning for easy access, month to month contractCons:Some nice equipment like hack squats missing. No super circuit or timer.
