The staff was very friendly, the room was nice with a nice view. The food looks nice, but for taste it lacked. The starter I had was mussels and white wine/garlic/onion sauce, the sauce was too thin and not creamy. The pork ribs I had was the 600g ribs, for me it was a poor cut of the rib with way too much fat on the top side. The sweet sauce on it was the only flavour it had. The meat itself was bland. The breakfast in the morning was 100% enjoyable.

Stayed for a few nights at Saldanha bay Hotel. The most beautiful view of the bay, rooms are super clean, staff attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this venue for your next stay on the West Coast.

The staff was super friendly and professional, always ready to assist. The accommodation was great, facilities amazing, including the training venue we utilized.The food and beverages were top class. The entertainment was spectacular, Don Vino Prins was awesome. It was a great weekend.

Wow.. We were pleasantly surprised and totally satisfied with our entire experience. We stayed there for only one night on Thursday 27 May 2021. We arrived there quite late in the evening and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room that we stayed in had great space and must have been recently renovated. Nice big shower and bathroom.Breakfast in the morning was also excellent. Congratulations to Saldanhabay Hotel.

Quaint hotel located on Africa’s deepest natural Port with amazing sea views. The hotel is fully covid compliant and offers great amenities from mini golf, chess, swimming pool and pool. Service was of a high standard and the location is central to all that Saldanha Bay has to offer. Great for a family vacation or for a business trip. Highly recommended for a stay on the West Coast 😎

We feel like VIP guest! Mrs Lawson the duty manager, and All the waiters are excellent, had a incident with a meal, but was corrected... Rashida our attendee, was out of this world friendly. We do feel like the family effect is totally present at the Saldanha Hotel. We strongly recommend you tip well, as these family members(SH - staff) absolutely goes the Extra mile! Front desk included!!!!

The staff is friendly and awesome. Chef Eugenes food is out of this world. Pork Ribs, mussels in white wine sauce and the hake and chips is a must.

No staff around, all tables are still dirty from breakfast, you have to flag waiters down if you can even find one.

The room was lovely and the whole hotel has a clean and relaxing atmosphere. The views are stunning and it was very hard to leave today. Im sure we will be back soon.

The hotel is showing its age...Major let down on checkin as it is not part of the Protea Hotel group anymore...Saving grace for the hotel in my personal opinion is the staff and the amazing breakfast service...Bathrooms need a refurbishment as well as the carpets in the room...And the fridge does not really keep your items cold, more chilled to the touch.

The place was just perfect and quiet, exactly what we needed.

Rooms are great, but had an awful experience at the restaurant. The staff seemed nothing short of incompetent at their jobs, going through 4 different waiters and waitresses for ice and drinks menu, then once my wine arrived waited 10mins for wine glasses.. 😞

What one would expect from protea hotels in service, friendly & helpful. Beautiful views of the bay from lounge, bar & dining room. Did not actually stay overnight, but told from a friend that their experience was good.

Most amazing bulcany view and very profesional staff. I was staying there but it was the only.place to get good coffee or breakfast early in the morning. Did I say the view was amazing.

The moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly and professional staff offering to carry our bags to the room. We checked in which was quick and easy and went to the room which was beautifully clean and fresh. Everywhere we went in the hotel we found the staff to be helpful, kind and accommodating and they all looked like they love their jobs. The food was amazing and the hotel has so many activities to keep little ones busy. I will definitely be returning for a 3rd time and will be bringing my niece and nephew with.

Breath taking views. Rooms were neat and clean and spacious. Well serviced. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a beautiful sleep. Peaceful environment. The breakfast was out of this world. Definitely recommend this place. There was a free snake show and gin tasting. Loved it. Very expensive though.

Brilliant service following the Covid Lockdown reopening. Everyone helpful and very friendly. The hotel is very well equipped with a good restaurant and rooms with great views and easy access to the water. We experienced some challenges with restaurant food orders but the hotel staff went out of their way to make up for it the following day. Their response to the challenges helped keep the 5 star rating. Were definitely coming back!

I am sitting in the restaurant of the well known Marriott Hotel in Saldanha Bay. I have been sitting here for more than 2 hours and they just told me the executive chef is playing my food. Oh sorry I made a mistake probably because I am so hungry I cant even think straight.Lets start again I have been sitting here for 2 hours and 40 minutes they said the executive chef is playing my food 40 minutes ago ok rather leave it its no use this is probably normal for this type of place.

Beautiful view. Too expensive, they must at least include bed, dinner and breakfast. The last thing one needs when visiting is to drive around looking for a restaurant .

9 ⭐ if I could give more stars I would.Protea Hotel in Saldanha is right on the water. Beautiful well tended grounds and a spectacular sunset view across the bay.I visit every 3 months or about until lockdown, and twice since.Parking: they have off road parking but space is limited when busy.Okay downside... The building is older and is in definite need of remodeling. The windows are peeling, warped and difficult to close. Some facets are too close to the edge of the sink which ends up making a mess. Even with this, Ive only had amazing stays at Protea if you can look past some of the appearance challenges. It would be nice if they cleaned the carpets more frequently.Food: Breakfast is excellent be sure to add breakfast to your booking. We had room service it was okay no complaints, we usually go to Captains Cabin just down the street for dinner. We love to order the chips they are so crispy and good.Linen is clean and house keeping is very good. Security is also very good. Front desk is helpful and polite, though they cant confirm room requests until the day of.WiFi is spotty at different areas of the building especially at the ends. TV has basic channels.We go to Pnp in Vredenburg for grocery items they do have a small bar fridge. No microwave available that we know of.Family Considerations: Careful when booking rooms with children, there several rooms under the dining room area so it gets very loud and difficult for daytime naps. The dining room has chairs for little ones. There is a play area and outdoor pool. Some days they have a bouncy house inflated. They have Legos for kids to play with. The waters edge is not fenced and must observe young children carefully.

Great hotel, location is excellent right on the waters edge, and great as a base to see the area. Customer service cant fault at all. Food was the best we had during our 5 week stay, and the staff were excellent. Have no hesitation in booking this hotel again.

We travelled after COVID and found the staff very well trained. Dinner was good with cozy fire and decent wine selection.

This is my hotel of choice when we travel down the West Coast. Our best stay ever over this past weekend. The staff outdid themselves, THANK YOU SO MUCH. And your CHEF!! wow. Beautiful view !!

Very stylish and rooms are big. Bathrooms are a bit small and the shower is inside the tub, but staff were extremely friendly and the bar had great food. My husband had the calamari and wings and I had the prego steak roll. Would definitely visit again.

What a awesome /amazing time we had at Protea Hotel Saldanha. The staff from management,front desk, chefs and dining area not to forget house keeping have award winning, welcoming people skills. That was one of the most impressive skills that stood out for us. The hotel has a clean fresh upmarket look that makes you comfortable and relaxed in its surroundings. Normally an awesome place but Covid has had a negative impact

They took my booking last minute. They very accomadating, the staff was super friendly at reception, room service was fantastic, the breakfast buffet was really good. Its child friendly and on the beach which is a plus. The hotel over all is very clean and the rooms are spacious. I would definitely come here again and recommend this place. Value for money!
