Great family getaway...I have a yearly pilgrimage to the West Coast, always staying at Saldahna Bay Lodge. We are always greeted by friendly staff or the owner herself. The facilities clean and comfortable. The view absolutely beautiful.A great stay and would recommend to anyone.Great value for money!!

Dear Manager/OwnerWe booked at your establishment in good faith with our families for a break away from the tough unprecedented year we had.To my utter dismay what an experience that has been. Upon arrival no manager or owner was there to meet us but one of the members of domestic staff to hand over the keys.Coming into the unit was a horror story to unfold. Dirt/Grime/Mould/Spiders/Ants.It was clear as day light that there was absolutely no covid protocol/procedure in place.The kitchen had previous peoples food in the oven & fridge, the bathrooms were dirty(we showered with flip flops) an army of ants in the rooms as well again previous peoples items of clothing left behind , spider webs & spiders under beds and all corners.We have made contact with management explaining the situation that all images provided on the site was a far cry from what we see. Pool could not be used in the evening(no lighting as shown on pictures) no green grass for kids to play, a jacuzzi that was out of order in this all we where offered was a reclean or an alternate residents which was a far cry from what our expectation was, bearing in mind we have brought kids to enjoy a well deserved break after the hellish academic year they had.The owner refused to acknowledge our concerns or compensate us in any way or refund us so that we could return home as it was a real waste of our hard earned money. Trying to make the best of the situation(as the owner was not forthcoming) a trip to the store was needed for tins of insecticide & strong detergents for operation clean up as best as we could.I would never advise /recommend anyone this establishment as customer care /service is not a first priority.I feel all social media platforms should be made aware as well as the West Coast community as to how this establishment gets run - out to make a quick buck

Dirty and infested main houseWe are currently staying in the 10 sleeper self catering house. What can I say as the pics speak for it self. When we arrive yesterday we were welcomed by the cleaner. The house wasnt cleaned we had to clean it ourselves. In the one bedroom last night the room.was infested with ants. The cleaners was here to clean and then an hour later the ants was back. We called the manager Faanie to tell him about the condition of the place and he spoke to.the owner Gaynor and she refused to.refund us to seek alternate accommodation. We are unhappy as we are unable to sleep in the one bedroom due to the ants. All we asked for was a clean place and clean toilets. We are unhappy as we paid alot of money for it and the owner point blanks refuse to accommodate us. I.am.in the travel industry and if I had a client that booked here he would.never stay here and demanded his money back. Unhappy client I wouldnt reccomend this place to.anyone. The rest of the place is so much different co.pared to this self catering house

Well appointed clean rooms. Beautiful views from most rooms, super friendly staff. The place is a short walk from all you would require to make your stay a memorable one eg. beach, supermarket chemist butcher etc. The owner shows a willingness to accommodate the quests as far as possible and to make their stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and that is all I need to revisit.

Lovely view, friendly staff. Walking distance from the beach, restaurants and bars. The house is clean, modern and rooms are spacious with big beds and large cupboard spaces. Highly recommend this accommodation for Saldanha Bay visitors.

Lady who greeted us was terrible one lady never wore a mask and cutlery was mouldy. Totally disgusting!

This is a great place to stay, and I cant recommend it highly enough. Spotlessly clean, with an excellent location which is within walking distance of the beach, supermarket, restaurant and bars. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff Rudo and a personal welcome from the owner Gaynor Francke. This experience has been a true example of excellent hospitality. Thank you once again to all the staff and the owner for going that extra mile.

Unplanned overnight stay due to work. These people went out their way to accomodate me which included dinner, breakfast and lunch pack for the next day. Kudos to you.

Wow. What a nice place. Rooms well laid out. Had full use if the kitchen, conference areas.

My family and I loved our experience , the friendly helpful staff and the spacious beautiful rooms with comfortable beds would definitely go back again ....kudos to the owner !!!

Its ok very good for the family but not so much for a couple.

I had an horrible reality check when we got to this Lodge. Please look at the attached photos and compare them with those on the website. The two are worlds apart. I have paid in full for 2 rooms for 4 nights and got 2 backyard cubicles.There is also no burglar bars on the wide opening ground floor windows, the bathroom door fell of its rails and our bed linen had makeup stains on it.I asked to be refunded in order for us to find alternative accommodations, but got the same answer as other disappointed guests. So yes I got suckerd too.I sincerely hope that this review will help to prevent anyone reading this, to not loose hard earned money on the presumption that what is presented on the website, is what you will be receiving.

The motor at gate 1 does not work- the heavy steel gate is manually operated. The next door neighbour has an unobstructed view of my room.The dogs next door bark during the night. The stair case leading to my room is not a standard height.Parking at gate 1 is an issue when 2 or more vehicles are parked.Rooms are cleaned and neat. Wi fi reception in my room is poor to none.No DSTV in rooms.

Very nice view overlooking the bay.....was a bit windy....overall the service is good.....child friendly

Hi Gaynor and staff. Thank u for a lovely weekend. There were a few hiccups at the beginning that we managed to sort out with the help of the very friendly and helpful staff. My husband fell in love or is it the other way around....lol....the dogs Roxy and Milo adopted us. We would lovely come back in warmer weather and trust that all hiccups would be sorted out then. Thank u Gaynor for all your help as well as Yolanda and Simba!

Pathetic service, accommodation still under construction when we booked in, poor security, extremely small kitchen and living area (communal) for all rooms combined, TVs not yet installed, swimming pool empty, building rubble everywhere and construction workers coming and going as they please.
