Great place, quick efficient service, plenty parking, not crowded on Saturdzy eve. Large range of beers, etc. Guiness pue was yum! A good pub allround.

Worst experience of my life just now. Woman throwing up over the railing non-stop since arriving into the parking lot. Friends with her laugh her off and carry on drinking. This is a major Covid health risk on their part and the restaurants. People come here not only to drink but to eat as well. I have never been more disgusted in my entire life. Management reactions were not visible or evident from moment of complaint. They are still sitting after paying to finish their drinks when they should not have been served in the first place. This is not a staff issue. This is a management and visitors issue. People like this should never be allowed to stay further.

22/11/2020, a Sunday night. Our first time ever visiting. We called at 20:18, we were told by whom ever answered the phone if we can order before 20:30it will be fine. We were there at 20:20 as we were by the garage across from them when we called. Upon arriving we were greeted and seated outside (we wanted the smoking area) We were given menus and asked if we can order quickly as the waiter leaned on our table. After ordering everything in one go we waited patiently for our food. I was very impressed by how the food gets plated, especially the lamb curry! When our food was put down in front of us the waiter said that the manager asks we hurry up because they need to leave. We eventually asked for the bill with the idea that when we have paid he might be able to leave. He brought us the bill, walked two tables away from us, sat on the table staring at us while we eat the entire time, talk about horribly uncomfortable. We ended up asking for takeaway bags as we would rather eat at home where we arent being stared down.. After the hurry up and stare down we paid not giving much tip as we really werent happy, then we were asked why we didnt tip more. We explained that we werent happy at all and that would be our first and last visit to Machics. He then complained about how his friends have already left and he needs to travel home alone, also that the tip isnt enough. I find it rude, I have also been a waiter for a few years in my life and this guy has no manners and no etiquette. We were there for a total of 30minutes, after we left there were still other customers but it was important that we leave? As much as we LOVE the food we wont be back.

My kids enjoyed their burgers and riplets menus. Our chicken was awful - so clearly this is a Grill and burger place.Theres something that disturbed me last night - I pay a 1 glass of Stella Beer for some R48 and and Kanonkop wine for R205! and then get forced to pay 10% tip? The amount of tip demanded can buy granny a full meal.

An absolutely discusting experience.Whilst we are eating a woman seated at the table across from us continues to through up over the railing.Not only is this a shamfull invorcement of the covid regulations but it soeaks to the poor managurial skills.I would not recomend.The waiters were friendly and excellent.

I love this place! Great cozy atmosphere, a lovely selection of gins and beers and superb comfort food like pies and curries. I like that the menu is varied but not too extensive - that can be exhausting... I had the munchies platter with fries, chicken strips, ribs, samoosas, fried halloumi and a sauce (I chose Peri Peri and Im very happy I did). The fries aka slapchips were the best Ive had in a loooong time. Every item was so tasty. Was looking forward to what used to be the best chicken in Pretoria East since I had not been to Machics in 2yrs. The service was really terrible but the chicken was delicious and the beer was cold.

I enjoy going to Machics. Ive always recieved good service and enjoy their wide variety of beers on tap. The food is excellent too, but a bit pricey for my taste. Machics gets better the busier it is.

I have always had great food here at affordable prices. Huge selection of imported/craft beers and whiskeys. Venue has a small smoking section and the bar itself is non smoking(my last experience couldnt get seating after extensive waiting time for access to the smoking area which is a negative as a smoker).

The atmosphere in the resturant was so like pubs in the UK, loved it! Social distancing was adhered to & all waiting staff wore masks.The waiter reccomended the peri peri chicken on the menu and truly it was the best Ive ever had. My husband chose the liver & onions and he said it was delicious.Definitely worth a visit.

First time and we loved it. Will be back to try the eisbein next week.

We have just enjoyed another 5 star Sunday Lunch from our favourite restaurant in the East of Pretoria. Quality wise and price wise Machics just cannot be beaten. We will always come back!

Best Per-Peri chicken in South Africa....without any close contenders. I have eaten peri-peri chicken in plenty of different restuarants and have come to the conclusion that its a waste of time as Machics has set the bar to high for anyone to even come close to their standards. If heat is your thing then order their glow chicken... not for the faint hearted!!! Photo of the glow chicken attached.

Cannot recall a bad meal weve ever had here. We always order the portuguese chicken (flattie) and this time we shared it together with the ribeye steak on the bone and hunters sauce. Food was delicious, value for money and the beers are cold. Thx Machics, keep it up.

This was the first time that we visited Machics. I ordered the Guiness and beef pot pie and it was amazing. My girlfriend had a chicken cordon Bleu with the tastiest curly fries. Creamed spinach was an absolute winner. Large portion sizes with a great range of craft beers available.

Food was decent, service alright however the staff dont know the rules for the Entertainer App which they are on. The manager was not willing to even come and talk to us to resolve this issue but handed us a piece of paper with the sales rep of Entertainer to deal with. Not very professional and in the end we were scammed into paying too much money. I did confirm with the rep from Entertainer that the restaurant was indeed incorrect and should have done more to resolve the issue while we were still there. Definitely will not be going to Machics again! Beware fellow Entertainer app users.
